I strongly agree. Playing ele in WvW under all sorts of builds over a span of 300 hours without winning one single 1v1 battle (yes, seriously) made me think there was something wrong with my skill, but then I started playing PvP and getting my fair share of kills. About 1.0 K/D, not bad at all. Realized that the way ele’s are balanced in WvW is all sorts of kitteny. Getting enough survivability to survive any encounter at all means you’ll die anyways because your damage is closer to zero than your phone’s battery percent after a week of neglect. If WvW was treated to an acceptable standard of balance like PvP is, then the world (v world) would be a better place.
WvW standard for Ele seems to be.. deal out damage from behind the crowd, or get kittened. Those are your options.
I was waiting to join a PvP match and I clicked accept, then nothing happened. I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes now. The option to ‘leave queue’ is greyed out. Joining WvW still brings up the Match Ready window when I get there even after clicking continue on the ‘Abandon PvP’ prompt. Logging in and out has done nothing, and I still get the Match Ready window when the game boots. I’m effectively locked out of PvP until there is some sort of intervention.
Says ‘Match Ready’, yet one box is unchecked. I want to strangle whoever that unchecked box belongs to..
I’m used to being insta-downed in 1-2 seconds by a thief who leaves stealth right next to me, being an ele squishball and all.. but this time I was downed in literally about 1/2 of a second. Wish I had it recorded. It was pretty unbelievable. 19k health gone before I could even dodge-roll.
So I guess there’s no better place to ask.. how do I defend myself against thieves?
I main Ele, and when a thief decides he’s going after me, it’s game over, even when I try to tank my ele build. They disappear and pop up next to me and it’s normally over in two seconds before I have time to put in a proper response.
If I manage a dodge or a counter in time, they just go invisible again and I barely have time to get my health back up before they pop up right next to me again and finish the job. The dps for the thief is too high to justify how evasive it is, IMO. When I’m running small parties the thief is usually on top with DPS, and I just top with squishiness and no match in evasiveness or dps compared to them to show for it.
I understand that thief is squishy as well, but the normal amount of evasiveness severely overcompensates for it.
The timer starts at 4 days even before I buy the HoT content, for buying some items at the trading post. Then it said 1 day left. Waited a full day, was sitting at the trading post waiting for it to unlock at the exact minute, so excited!
“24 hours til unlock”
Oh.. k then..
Maybe change the timer to not be a day ahead of schedule, and properly read 5 days instead of 4. Waited exactly 4 days like it said and content still had one full day left to unlock, pretty disappointed.
