This thread should be stickied. Necro has necro’d. Bwwhhaaaha
All these tests need to be redone. Since they were originally done 4 months ago, and a lot of the “bugs” have been fixed — like points in Soul Reaping now “correctly” increase Life Force pool.
Also, I really really think Life Force pool needs to be changed from a percentage to just straight up numbers. That would remove the problem of small hits taking away a whole 1% of the pool and would let us see how much damage we can actually soak up with the kitten thing!
My (wet) dream right now is that when we get the Death Shroud UI improvement, we will also lose the % in favor of solid numbers.
I love the idea.
I think probably the best overall solution would be to have 2 Death Shrouds, F1 and F2.
F1 should be melee and Power oriented. F2 should be ranged and Condition oriented.
They could share a cooldown, either 10 seconds or maybe longer if having 2 creates a balance issue.
All they need to do is switch out all the forced minion minor traits in Death Magic with existing major traits.
Replace Reanimator with Greater Marks
Replace Protection of the Horde with Staff Mastery
Or whatever. Point is, keep the minion traits exclusively to the majors, so we can decide if we want to use them.
I was actually the one who added that note about just having to hit the Plague skill once. I was in the same boat as you, so I added that to the wiki to help others who weren’t sure about its usage
Probably one more feature present in both that I like is the reduced spell bar, since I hate MMORPGs and their customary 20 button spell bars.
Man, my Necro has between 23 and 25 skills available at any given time, depending on my Elite!
- 5 each from 2 sets of weapons = 10 total
- 5 for heal / utility / elite (+3 from Plague, +5 from Lich) = 8 – 10 total
- 1 to activate Death Shroud (I do consider it a skill because of the health bar if nothing else) and 4 once in DS = 5 total
Sure they aren’t all displayed or available at once, but I think this system in GW2 is actually a little more complicated than having them all at once because you essentially have to choose which ones are available in an instant if you need something in there.
I love it. Feels more dynamic than, let’s say, WoW
Add a 5th skill that is determined by your main-hand weapon.
