“Prioritization” ~ You mean like the Super Adventure Box? Rtlock’s Critter Rampage? The super amazing ‘Molten Alliance Pick’ (with a return on investment ~8years…)

Yes so many, many different priorities but you have to admit it does reflect rather poorly on Anet that they can’t invest the time of one single competent developer to solving this issue.

That’s all that really needs to be said as we continue to wait – the question now is how long must we wait? … 1 month? 2? 6? a year?

If Anet truely does “Prioritization” they must have a timeline and a direct answer to this question at the very least…

Event call – On item Soulbinded to Player

Does player have legendary weapon equipped? True or False

  • ~ Note test could be done for each unique weapon
  • ~ At the moment players may be rewarded for multiple legendaries of the same weapon type

If True – Set achievement count for legendary collector +1
If False – do nothing… (only need test to check for true flag)

Is legendary medal activated? True or False

If true – do nothing… (only need test to check for false flag)
If False – Set legendary medal flag to true – Activate legendary medal

The above is just a very simplistic example of how the code may look (pseudo-code)

The current issue at the moment is for some reason the event flag didn’t get checked for Sunrise or Twilight, maybe the legendary flags are not correctly set is one possibility or the fact that they combine to make Eternity might be another possibility for why the flag is not activating but this is just guess work at best without seeing the code.

So now the developers need to implement a bug fix – something like the following

Correctly Flag Sunrise & Twilight as legendary (fix any other side issues related possibly to Eternity combine…)

Perform a database query on all characters to check if a character owns a soulbinded legendary equal to Sunrise &/Or Twilight
(I’m making the assumption here that Anet does use some form of database for character data…)

If character does own a soulbinded Twilight Or Sunrise > perform the above event call for that character.
(This would probably be the most efficient way to do it… but they could try some brute force method resetting all flags and performing a complete check on all characters/item data as well…)

Why something like the above hasn’t been done in over 6 months puzzles the living hell out of me personally, but I’m sure there must be a good reason somewhere to explain why this issue still exists to this day and I’m sure many would love to hear the explanation why.

Official Response: Drop Rate of Legendary Precursors

After 15 pages of discussion, over 26 days I would genuinely be interested in seeing a senior games developer justify the current system – To recap in bullet form the key issues;

Legendary / Precursor

-Legendary for RNG (Keeping strong to NCsofts policy on Korean gameplay…is going work wonders in a western market)

-Legendary for Trading Post Exploitation (let’s be honest I would rather invest my time and money for RL trading)

-Legendary for 0.1 ~ <5% of the total lv80 players worldwide (why???…because of RNG…)

-Legendary for cheats / exploiters (cheap karma items, godskull crafting…)

-Legendary for goldbuyers / gem buyers (the current system actually encourages botters to farm gold)

-Legendary for lottery winners (because hey it’s system where only the extremely lucky win… just smacks of poor design)

-Legendary for the complete failure in design & effort (as well as complete developer silence)

-Legendary for the completely insane who continue to post non-stop that the current system is “fine…perfect…” and refuse to accept any other point of view (…they have their legendary already or sitting on a bank full of precursors…)

-Legendary for grind (challenge? skill? nope none of that really needed just time & RNG…or $$$)

Put very simply if anyone else agrees with the above just copy & paste my post – maybe if the message is repeated xxx thousand times a developer might actually post something worth reading with regards to changing the current abomination of legendary precursors.

Excellent posts by many here – any of the suggestions put forward by Yooms.4015 in the post above would be excellent as a solution to the current RNG issue with precursor.

The complete silence and lack of any feedback other than “We are watching” is incredibly frustrating for many players – Even another thread below discussing the RNG issue the only recent reply is with regards to the Bot issue which is also completely out of control at the moment.

Like many others after several xxx hundred rares, multiple exotic attempts with 0 to show for it the current system is completely flawed and does need immediate attention or at very least some actual signs by a developer indicating a plan of action posted on the forum.

Very nice post MajorKong

I really agree with you on pretty much all your points and hope Anet takes your feedback into account.

I would very much like to see more differences between the three borderlands – While Warhammer Online had many issues RvR across the different lakes was at least very different and far more interesting to explore. Your idea of just simply changing the theme to match the seasons would be very simple to implement for example;

Blue World ~ Winter / Ice / Crystal Theme
Red World ~ Summer / Fire / Volcanic Theme
Green World ~ Spring / Water / Storm Theme

Again great post and it would be nice to see an Anet post supporting such feedback

Night Capping and YOU

ANET have seriously got this wrong.

The 24/7 servers win WvWvW

Why even bother having designated servers for Europeans and North Americans?

All servers might as well just be called Global because that is the current design.

If ANET honestly feels 24/7 WvWvW is for the best just merge EU + NA servers right now.

Very surprising how any serious game designer can fail to see the issue with night capping and how it completely degrades any value to the effort of prime time players for which the server is designated for.

I can only hope you see the light of day like most of your normal customers and understand that their time is important to the longevity and future of playing your game.

I fully support this idea as well – (Even had the same idea/thread posted 2 days ago)

Free Waypoint Travel for 100 World Map completion

It would definitely encourage more re-playability from higher lv players – keeping low lv zones active. Which can only be a good idea for keeping the game fun for new players as many are already starting to see issues with some zones/areas being empty with players rarely returning.

The ultimate money sink already exists in this game >>> Legendary material grind.

You could argue that if your going for legendary that you could afford the costs but honestly very few players will – well at least for many the time/gold/grind will take well over a year playing (for those with massive gold via trading/guild they can simply buy their way to legendary straight away which is a serious gameplay issue in itself).

I personally feel that the only money sink should be for crafting & trading. Any other costs that negatively effect players ability to travel and explore is a problem, especially if your trying to create a massive multiplayer environment that encourages players to explore and group up with each other in various locations across a large world map.

Idea is simple to reward those who explore – far more useful to lv80 player’s who actually want to continue playing in different area’s without breaking the bank on travel costs (So many just use the mists to help cut down on costs).

While lv’ing up costs were fine – map completion, hearts etc covered the costs fine but at lv80 – the costs start to become very restrictive. Even travel in WvWvW is free so it really seems pointless to keep waypoint costs in the PvE world for lv80 players.

*Anet could simply remove waypoint costs all together which would work just as well, but at least adding some sort of unique reward for such a benefit seems far better.

Youre favourite map and reasons why?

I have to agree with Frostgorge Sound, I love the snowy environments but best of all is the underwater exploration in this area – Great work by the team responsible for building this! I wish there was more areas just like this to explore in GW2.
