WvW is pve… its kitten… its not even up for discussion or balancing.
Anyone that played Ele for 300+ tournys will facewreck with optimized equip atleast 10+ exotic geared scrubs like they were geared in starter set.
90% of the players in WvW dont have a kitten clue how to play their class in a pvp setting.
Looks fine to me…
same in tournys…
and in scrims …
and in pve…

obvious l2p issue…
- you dodge randomly wasting endurance
- you dont make full use of your attunement skill sets
(sometimes casting Arc Lightning without Lightning Strike, beeing on Earth and not
casting Rock Barrier or Dust Devil)
- wrong skill priority ( like casting Fire Auto Attack in a clashfight when
Phoenix/Dragons Tooth/Ring of Fire are up)
- not using Water Trident to heal yourself
- no updraft-combo to actually hit a Dragon Tooth
- randomly casting Firegrab when target: a) is definately out of range
b) has no burning
- getting chased and switching to Fire instead of switching to Water for chill and heal
etc. etc. etc.
Currently you have probably high defense (which in fact you cant make use of right now) + incredible low damage + lacking support.
= your sPvP team carries you in the 8v8 zerg
I dont like rogue /warrior cause they kill me in 2 seconds
I dont like guardian / necro / elementalist cause I cant kill them
I dont like mesmer cause they so op you dont even know why you died
I dont like ranger and engie cause they just spam you until you dieOk, overall I like this game cause every class can be kitten awesome in their own way !

Have you actually played tpvp the last 2-3 days?? Close to 80% of the teams are playing Backstab “1shot-noob-build” and dominate teams that normally stomped them 500:100.
Bunker Guardian with protection up and close to 3k armor drops in 1 second.
Support Ele drops below 0.5 seconds unless he has mistform and there is no server lag.
Even if you survive the Steal-C&D- Signet-Backstab-Combo you will get either crittet for 6-8k Backstab every 3 seconds, or he will HS spam you for 4-7k crits because he is full iniative after 1 backstab combo.
This breaks every game right now. You cant leave a Bunker alone because obviously he wont be able to bunker. Team fights are quite a chaos so Backstab thiefs can instagib the Guard or Supp Ele and quickly finish them off with Quickness before even fading out of stealth.
On Khylo we had a team with a Backstab that camped clocktower entrance and the area between our treb. Every reinforcement or split got close to 1 shottet. Our Mesmer got hit by 5k steal + 6k C&D +13k Backstab (combat log ) right on top of the rep kit. He dropped faster than reaction time allowed him to press his blink.

Elementalists arent hard to use just because they have 4 attunements, they are plain underpowered..
Thats why my elementalist loses only to broken Backstab+Signet Combo and just 30% of the time.
Every other class 1on1 is a freekill for me. And now dont come with “you play only against noobs”.
We scrim against the best guilds Eu ( Team Paradigm, Super Squad, Mace Stun, etc.)
There is currently no player in my guild able to destroy my roamer ele 1on1.
I don’t know why, but I can’t get my fire ele to hit that hard. He crits for around 2.5-3k I would say. Does he feed off your boons?
I also can only obtain around a 10k burst with berserker amulet on, critting most of the attacks, no arcane and around 10-13 stacks of might. What are you doing to get 15k?
I guess he does, but i dont have much might stacked in the screeny. He happens to hit quite hard lately. Ive seen 4k+2k Aoe dropped after 3-4 smaller fireballs for 400-500dmg.
Lets say i crit everything which is quite possible with 67% crit and Mesmers tend to be squishy
(optional: Churning Earth + Flash for 6-8k +1-2k lightning strike triggerd when switching to air)
+2-3k Rtl + Updraft + 4.5k-5.8k Burning Speed + Arcane Wave for 2-3k + hopefully trigger Flame Blast for 1.5k + 2-3k Ring of Fire + 4.8-7k Firegrab
Dragons Breath ticks for 1k on crit + burning
Cone of Cold is between 3-4.8k when all ticks crit.
Ring of Earth is 2-3k on crit.
Lightning Whip goes up to 3.6k on squishys when bot hits crit with 10+ stacks of might.
Obviously i will not crit everything everytime but i crit fairly often. Atleast 2-3 Skills will crit per burst.

1. You can just maintain 10-16 stacks by normal Ele combat behavior with Sigil of Superior Battle. Dagger/Dagger provides 1 fire field and Evasive Arcana turns every dodge roll into 1 blastfinisher (10sec internal cd per attunement) + Arcane Wave + Earthquake thats about 12 stacks of might.
With Glyph of Harmony i can give myself 15 sec of swiftness/ 7sec when i switch to air + 15 sec when i cast Shock-Aura + 8 secs Frost-Aura (Zeyphyrs Boon)
enough for perma swiftness.
On my spec Regeneration ticks for 169 + 96 Soothing mist every second = 265 hp every second = 2650 more damage you have to pump into my ele for every 10 seconds.
Better to have some regeneration than having none.
2. Lighting Flash provides the same teleport, you wont need it more often.
Jump+ Rtl is your friend. You can travel from Clocktower to the other nodes with
just 1 single RTL. You can fly from the treb instantely on to the wall and even
behind it and land 20-30 meters next to your close point or the enemy one.
Just an example on a map where Thiefs mobility seemed to be better.
3. Or i could Lighting Flash right into their face + instant updraft + drop 15k burst in
less than 2 secs leavin them with no phantasm and illusions and see them running
for their lives while a 15 sec burning ticks on them and a mad ele chasing them witch
Cone of Cold.
I love theory crafting.

6. a) See the Backstab. Be prepared to get backstabbed. Press mistform when he
disappears. Nuke him.
b) Switch to earth for protection + Earthquake (if he doesnt have Basiliks Venom).
Nuke him.
c) When you see him go earth for protection switch to air for Shock-Aura ->
stunned Thief -> updraft him -> Nuke him.
d) Just updraft him and Nuke him.
e) Dont care about it because Assasins Signet will get nerved next patch.

Not talking about 1v1. I’m talking about in general; team fights, getting ganked, etc.
You’re implying that Elementalist is.. a fail safe class with no weakness? That’s what I’m trying to get out of this.
you will probably kill him if he stays on the node and you keep up an endless stream of pressure and you outnumber him
but he has many ways to escape and troll you

Hey in-case you didn’t notice what I asked, are you seriously implying that there is no way to deal with a good elementalist?
In a 1on1 situation you will not be able to kill him if it starts some what fair unless you are backstab and he has no mistform to counter or MOA! but only when asura, because you cant tell when asuras are casting MOA ( on every other class a top ele will dodge it)

what evidence do you have to show this?
Experience against high level guilds in tpvp in so called sync events!
Victorious vs every single guild in team paradigms scrim group and always playing with 1-2 Eles.
Lets take my Dagger/Dagger Roamer as an example:
- perma swiftness
- perma vigor (sometimes stacked up to 1-2 mins)
- perma fury
- perma regeneration
- on demand protection
- higher mobility than perma switftness thief/HB warrior
- because of 20 weapon skills and many buffs enough place for 2-3 stunbreakers
- incredible high sustained dmg, single target burst and aoe burst and pressure
- 12 sec aoe burn + bleedings + chill
- Frost Aura + Stun Aura = hardcounter against any meele especially HB/PW/BS
- high aoe damage instagibs Mesmers
- low cooldown burst and pressure skills
- decent self heals (on top of perma regeneration)
- doesnt need extra condition remove skill because water serves perfectly for this
(nearly untouchable through conditions = hardcounter against Necros and
Caltrops Sins and Rangers to some extend/ can be used to cleanse allies)
- provides Mistform stomps and rezzes ( currently the strongest form)
- highest roamer survivabillity of all classes
- can win every single 1on1
- has no hardcounter
- mix of burst/ pressure/dots ( tick quite hard when might stacked up to 80-100 per
bleeding tick)
- the only class that can stack itself in the middle of a fight up to 25 stacks of might
and maintain them for 15-20 seconds ( tho only class to my knowing ably to reach 4k
attack in every single engagement in sPvP)
- switching out Berserker Amulet for clerics or valkyrie turns you in capable node
defender able to hold its ground against 2-4 enemies till reinforcements arrive making
the ele incredible versatile in its role
- can instagib a whole group at a node
- Fire Elemental provides 4-5k Aoe every 10 seonds
- Ice Elemental provides chill fields, gives constantly healing fog to nearby allies for
constant regeneration and provides a single heal that will heal all nearby allies up to
100%
- every time Ele switches attunements he buffs all nearby allies (Regeneration, Might,
Swiftness, Protection)
- Ele wont die to even 4 enemies aslong as he has 1 cooldown left, and will most likely
get away and shift numbers elsewhere
- provides Firefields and Blastfinishers for in combat group Might Stacking
- has great control = 1 aoe knockdown, 1 aoe Knockback, a Stunshield that can be
used to save even allies from focus fire and HB warrios by just getting in to the line of
fire, aoe chill, 12 sec cooldown root+ gapcloser ( together with earthquake you can
lock down a target for 4 seconds and thus setting up burst oppertunities for your
team)
- no damage downtime and not reliant on roots/stuns/quickness/elite skills/ signets
to burst someone
- switch to staff before match starts for Staticfield + Blastfinishers to stack up 1 min of
group switfness
- switch on Khylo to clerics amulet and staff and become an immortal treb destroyer
- less predictable burst and spread out 30-40k burst/pressure potential on 20 skills
making it impossible to effectivly dogde Eles damage
( Thiefs have either HS, Backstab or PW which is one 1 attack per spec you have to
take care off when figthing against, Warriors have HB and Evis, Mesmers have their
Phantasm, i guess you get the point = 1 trick ponys)
Now compare to thiefs….
The nerf was absolutely needed! The skill was absolutely gamebreaking.
I could rezz with 100% success 3 already stomped allies in earth attunement with full life and all cooldowns available even the elites.
You could never win in tpvp a clash fight if the other team had an (mostly) support ele with this skill in his bar.
It even hard countered time stomps!
Ele roamer is by far better than a thief roamer! Fact!
Eles are among the best classes right now for highlevel tpvp.
Ele played to its max potential will never die in a 1on1 situation. Heck, he wont even die to 3 enemies aslong as he has 1 cooldown left, and will get away easily an shift numbers somewhere else.
Ele has by far the highgest survivability when specced and played right even with a Berserker Amu.
Ele as a roamer can destroy multiple enemies in the blink of a second.
Ele is nearly untouchable (specced right) through conditions and will instagib Caltrops Sins, Nekros and Mesmers (Aoe).
It doesnt matter if Dagger/Dagger Roamer , Scepter/Dagger Roamer /Hybrid , Scepter/Focus (Defender), Staff Hybrid , Staff Bunker , Staff Support.
Ele is 1 of the most viable classes for highlevel tpvp.
If u dont have an ele, you will not be able to play competitive against a team that does !!
We even play from time to time with double damage ELe.
And we have beaten almost every Guild that has a name (scrims)
( Team Paradigm, Supersquad, + the rest in TP’s scrim skype group )
We always have atleast 1 Ele, either support or roamer.
An the toughest fights where against teams that had an Ele.
