Hi Fellow Ranger, Before I start on the tread i need to clarify that I feel that Ranger class require fixes on our traits, utilities and Pet AI. And i share the same pain and frustration on Anet not able to fix out class quickly.
Personally i felt that Ranger Burst damage is not really too bad compare to Warr. What really the problem is the Ranger require alot of micro compare to warr.. its a much complex class to handle .. just to be equal to warr.. thats the real problem.
The following is the common chain i used against other players if i wanted to unleash some burst on my enemies :-
Sometimes during ambush situation i might rain arrows b4 start the chain for the cripple effect and additional dps to soften my target first.
4-5 K Damage >(Raven) F2 – Wait for it to actually hit the enemy first
> Rampage Activated ( during Raven Flight) could act first depend…
>LB Rapid Shot Activated (When Raven F2 hit )
> Swap pet Activate Mini 2sec QZ (BM 5 traits ) swap to Eagle or Owl
>(Eagle/owl) F2 Activate (Still unloading Rapid Shot)
6-11k Damage >Rapid Shot finish in 2 Sec
3-4 K Damage > Eagle/Owl F2 land with ( chill or bleed)
Total Damage burst in 2 sec 13k – 20k Damage
If my off hand is Axe/ War horn I would swap after rapid shot and use the 4th and deal another arn 3-5k damage. If not I’m most likely I’m holding to SB.
For SB I could swap to SB + QZ after this chain to unload another 4 sec of " Face plam animation glitch Free SB pew pew". afew sec later u could swap pet again F2 + 2 sec QZ for another 2sec pew pew…
Warr could do the same in pressing F1 holding it for 2 sec lol (Relax mode)
Compare to ranger multiple skill chain and still sometimes pet AI would screw or delay the whole process … flying pet unable to really “FLY” also limit ranger from sniping like warr above keep’s wall making it 40% less effictive than warr’s kill shot.
During fight because to Rampage Stability it helps alot not being controlled by someone, Signet of stone would give me a 6 sec of not taking damage, which only use to prevent other class’s burst dps. using it when u about to die while fleeing is useless .. cos 6 sec would get u too far.. unless there is allies near by.
I’m not saying Ranger dont need Fixes or buff, I’m just not happy that the last patch Anet didn’t address all the main issue of the class and focus on some water battle crap… any buff is good, but i feel that there should be priority in addressing issues.
I’m sharing how i felt about ranger and how i play my ranger, it might not suit everyone’s playing Style. I’m using Full berzerg armor, for jewel im using 2 Valkyrie for alittle more vit , with ranger able to fury most of the time, i feel 40% crit chance is enuff, infact im conserding changing all my jewel to Valkyrie for even more HP. :/
Currently 3500 power, 47% crit chance , 98% crit damage , 18k HP

Cant stop laughing during the video…. Very funny. Its very true in alot of ways …
Generally I’m fine with my main ranger, in fact I find the DPS, is not as low as most has said. Its just the fact that we need to work alot harder on skill & pet combos compare to warr/Thief 1,2 buttons burst… even so our damage is sub par.

I’ve been playing GW2 since launch; the main reason of playing GW2 is WvW, which I spend most of my time other than faming dungeon skins…
Recently like most people I feel that WvW is becoming boring, after the mindless zergs … pointless capping and recapping of towers and keeps. Endless repetitions with no rewards and not much of an achievement in participating in the event, is making WvW boring after a while.
Personally there is some thoughts I feel that it would improve the wvw experience that like to share with the Dev Team.
• Separate Currency Systems for WvW ( like kamar Points), only obtainable in WvW.
• All Siege equipment purchase using WvW Currency.
• Guilds holding keeps, Camps, Towers and Castle would earn WvW currency over time.
• Implement Keeps & Castle Skin for players, NPC Guards with Optional Dye colour to select, or even several skins type to choose. Only guild leaders given option to select the colour or design just like the guild emblem.
• Implement Ladder systems for Guilds to view achievement for holding keeps
• Ranking system for WvW, who different rank would have access to different tier of gears or special daily cool down skills which could be used in wvw to give them an minor advantage.
• In line with the new ascended items Special pvp gears have special infusion slot to mitigate damage against player’s damage.
An currency only obtainable in WvW which would replace current honor Badge system would solve a lot issue players complain of not able to collect in the midst of a battle. It also create a different of pve gold currency, which is being heavily inflate because of botting. It also give end game players a reasons to WvW, to progress in a different path.
Guilds who holding Keeps, Castle Camps or towers would gain points for upgrades, siege items. Would encourage Guilds to be more actives in defending their own turf, Enable Guild owners to design their own guard’s “outlook” would give the guild a prestige acknowledgement for defending their own turf. Hence it would mean taking a keep a lot more difficult, it would be VERY EPIC for an Guild to win over a turf. Guild who owns a turf would fight dearly to hold it, where guild who doesn’t would try very best to fought for it. Imagine alliance between guilds would be forged, planning and strategy would be plan out carefully. It would bring WvW experience to a new level, WvW would be something that has depth not just mindless zombies zerg. If there is additional function that enable guild officer to activate “intruder alarm” which would automatic pop a notifications on guild chat which enable only guild members to port back to their own turf for defending would be great.
Players ranking system who calculate base on achievement in WvW, would be an end game progression, no need to emphasize too much, there is a lot of post which very good ideas. Important is current “Commander” system is base on 100G not base on actual WvW achievement is a joke.. being an commander only tells others that u are good at botting, ur mummy’s credit card or you are a good farmer.. that’s all, it has nothing to do with WvW. Usually Commanders do not really earn the respect of general players, because there is at times too much commanders who are acting like a 10 year old, but there is also really good ones.
Special pvp gears obtainable tru WvW currency with special infusion slot to mitigate damage against player’s damage would set the players apart from average casual players. Casual players who pve would have better agony resistance gears; it would set them apart from average players for the additional effort they have put in. It would be great if there is an similar system in the WvW system. i.e. slot would enable players to take X% lesser damage , hold X amount supplies more or sigil would do additional X% amount of damage only could be mitigate by the special resistance infusion earn in wvw.
This way a lot go guilds would try to avoid heavily contested bracket and would willing migrate to lesser populations server and contest for their own turf, I believe would truly balance the WvW populations.
The above is base on my personal opinion, if you don’t like the idea please don’t flame me
