Final Update… everything is resolved. I hope the person in support reads this and I thank them a lot for promptly taking care of this problem. Thank you!
UPDATE:
Last night another support person replied via email, was very kind, he and explained the reason why my email was originally rejected. They corrected the problem and now I’m just waiting for my partner to come home to confirm that everything is resolved.
Hi all,
I’m new to Guild Wars 2 as I bought my account 2 weeks ago. Yesterday, I purchased digital copy for my partner to use. I asked my partner for his email address so that after I purchased the copy for him that it would be tied to his account and so he could download the digital copy on his computer. However I accidentally mis-typed his email address. So, we never received serial code.
It was my honest mistake, but I’m surprised that they charged my credit card and didn’t request a confirmation of my email address beforehand. Why don’t they have a “confirm email” second entry and /or why don’t they send an email finalizing confirmation before charging my card?
I sent a brief note to support stating the problem and the GM misunderstood what I was requesting . He thought that I was requesting someone else’s serial code. However that wasn’t the case as I am the person paying for the account. I was shocked that support ASSUMED that and that they didn’t ask for clarification instead. And they provided no way (that I could tell), to reply directly to them to clarify the problem.
I looked on the support site in regards to this problem and subsequently opened another email with the information mentioned in the support case asking for name-zip-last four of CC… and resent the request. Am I really to expect that it’s going to take 3 days or longer to deal with this order of problem? Should I just call my credit card company to cancel the payment and try again?
Anybody else have any thoughts? THANKS!
