Beta progress saved?

The beta week-end is over and my main (non-beta) character has a single fine/blue “??? Coming soon” item (chat link [&AgGZDAEA]) in her inventory. If memory serves me right I got it from a pop-up chest after switching from one of my beta characters. Disclaimer: my intention was not to exploit items out of the beta, and I will delete it if requested.

I did send a bug report, but I thought it might be interesting to put this out here as well. Has this happened for anyone else?

Update: I managed to get back in-game. I received the “join your party” pop-up, but re-entering the dungeon didn’t work due to network error 19:9:18:1583:101.

I was running HotW with some friends when suddenly everyone’s client became unresponsive. Thinking this meant we had all disconnected, I tried logging out and returning to the game. I can get to my character select screen, but I’m always interrupted by a “Network error” screen.

This is highly unusual in that the error code the given by the game is 1083:5:7:1609:101, which I’ve never seen before and isn’t referenced on the wiki’s list of error codes.

Does anyone know about this or has experienced something similar? I’m especially concerned about that error code…

I tried Lacey’s solution, without success. My launcher simply freezes and becomes unresponsive without crashing, unfortunately.

The part about moving Guild Wars 2 outside of C:\Program File (x86)\ surprised me however. Would it be too much to ask why such a requirement? It seems to me the install directory should not matter much, unless there is some access right issues going on somewhere.

The -email -password -nopatchui shortcut used to work for me, but that is no longer the case and I am no longer able to play.

I should sadly inform you that this is not something that will make people want to help you. The truth of the matter is that we’re all trying to figure out what’s wrong and find ways to play until ANet gets back to us with a concrete solution.

Some people here have found workarounds; these are temporary solutions that have absolutely no guarantee to be of any help whatsoever. If nothing here works (as is my case), then your only option is to wait until a new solution is presented. Hopefully, we’ll receive feedback from ANet and things will return to how they should be.

I am experiencing the same problem over here: my launcher stopped working after the update. Restarting and repairing didn’t work and I neither the digital download nor my physical copy of the game allows me to reinstall.
