Why doesn't the email authenticator know where I live?

I’ve had to authentic my own login attempts 2 or 3 times now. So far, it has never successfully identified my town. Obviously I know that I’m the one logging in when it tells me that I need to authenticate, so I know that there aren’t other people in nearby towns trying to hack me.

If those annoying advertisements on websites can tell me that there are 67843 hot girls who want to chat with me in my exact town, or that I am winner #999 in my exact town, why does the email authenticator think that my IP address is actually in a town 40km (25 miles) away?

How can it show me that my own IP is trying to connect, but fail to use any kind of accurate lookup? The website WhatIsMyIPAddress.com also correctly locates my IP.

Wow, I didn’t even think to try that.

I shudder to think how long it must take to kill the ship that way….but if what you say is true, then not nearly as long as it will take Anet to fix the bug, lol.

I’m not sure if anyone has posted about this, but I tried this mission for the first time last night, and I can’t get past the stage where I’m told to use a trebuchet against the Undead ship.

I can mount the treb, but when I try to shoot I get an error message that says the weapon “can’t be fired in this direction”. It doesn’t matter where the treb is pointing, and the line of sight is always clear, yet I get the error every time.

I replicated the error again tonight, so it’s not just a one-off.
