Update:
I re-download the latest, non-beta driver from amd’s website, uninstalled, then re-installed and restarted.
I haven’t seen much, but I do know that player heads are still not rendering. This would lead me to assume that the rest remain broken.
I have yet to do a driver reinstall. When I put it in, I had the new driver freshly downloaded so I could run it immediately. I d/l’d the driver from amds site.
I will try the reinstall and see what we get.
Hello everyone. Here is a fun one.
I recently upgraded my rig with a new case and vid card. Now when I am playing, fun things happen:
It will not render anyones head…the helmet will show, but I cannot see the head. It is instead a dark black, head-shaped object.
I am unable to see anyone in their town clothing. I still see the armor. When they move, the legs do not. When said person goes back to original armor, everything is fine.
When a player rezes another player, they instead do the mining animation. Though I must admit, it IS kind of funny to watch a group beat each other back to life.
When npcs are rezed, this doesn’t happen.
I’m not sure what could have happened. I moved from an HD 6600 series to a HD 6970, my drivers are all up to date. Only other things that are different is I have a new case, and now have a second monitor. GW2 on the left screen windowed, and wiki/forum things on the right. This happens even while the second monitor is disconnected.
I have DX11, which I am pretty sure is updated as well.
There could be even more issues that I haven’t noticed. I just recently obtained high speed internet (just moved from a very rural area), so I am constantly seeing things that I wasn’t able to see before. Mesmers would kill my connection >.>
If anyone could offer any assistance, it would be greatly appreciated. I thank you all for your time.
Just a quick question for the support of ANet:
Is there a way to disable email verification for my account?
Explanation:
For the longest time, my launcher asked me to confirm my email address, but when I would click on ok for the link to be sent, the link inside of my email would be bad. Too old of a link if I remember the error correctly. Tonight it finally accepted me verifying my email.
When I logged in, it said that since I was signed up for email verification, I had to click on a link that was sent to my email, since I was connecting from a “new” ip address. I would love to have this removed, I don’t recall “signing up” for this. I connect my pc to the internet with a Sprint Mobile Broadband 3G Hotspot (Cable/Fiber is not available in my area) so I have a dynamic ip. With it always changing, always showing me as being somewhere else (It says, for example, that I am in Monroe, MI when I live in Northern Kentucky) it becomes very tedious to have to continue to do email verification. I had this same issue on both Rift and Tera.
Is there anything you guys (or gals) can do to help me? Or am I doomed to always load up my email client whenever I want to play?
I understand the worry that people have with having their accounts hacked, but I feel that I will be alright. I do not need to click a link verifying each login to my account. If someone decides to take the time to hack my account for all the great “loot” that I have, it is their loss. I have a 76 thief that I guess you could make a few silver off of his equips.
Basically it is a game, not a vault. Please allow me to connect without retina scans if possible.
/rant. Sorry, but I just can’t stand security measures that I feel do nothing but hinder my game experience.

Some basic things to remember about this build:
Virtue of Justice’s passive ablility works well with Smite (Skill 2 from the Scepter) because each hit counts as one and Smite does multiple hits to multiple people.
Three skills that are used here cause blind (Flashing Blade, Ray of Judgment, and Virtue of Justice). Use them as often as you can as inflicting blind will also inflect vulnerability.
Open fights with Scepter/Torch whenever possible. This is the main damage dealing portion of this build. You can ignite a player, immobilize them, hit them with smite and follow up with Cleansing Flame as they try to run. I personally like to hit Virtue of Justice right before Chains of Light so that if someone can get out of the immobilize, they are still on fire, or vice-versa.
The Sword/Focus set is your “Survivability” set. Use Ray of Judgement when in melee range to help mitigate damage, along with Shield of Wrath. Zealot’s Defense usually hits harder than people expect.
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO WEAPON SWAP IN BATTLE! You can do some wonderful things if you swap at the correct time. It works great to set them on fire with Zealot’s Fire, immobilize them with Chains of Light, then swap and hit them with Ray of Judgment then Zealot’s Defense.
Any skill use will break Zealot’s Defense. With such a fun skill, use as much of it as you can.
Your virtues, when used actively, will apply to the people around you. If you are in a massive battle, hit Justice and Courage. This will give everyone around you aegis (blocks one attack) and a nice stock burn on their next hit.
Two of your skills offer teleportation (Flashing Blade (Sword) and Judge’s Intervention (Utility)). Use these along with any immobilize skills to catch up to foes that run. Granted, you might not be catching up to d/d ele’s of high mobility thiefs, but it helps all the same.
I personally changed my key bindings a bit, making it easier to hit all the skills. I set it as the following:
Healing – Z
Utility 1 – X
Utility 2 – C
Utility 3 – Mouse button 1
Elite – Mouse button 2
None of the keys are being used for anything else and they make it easy to hit most of the skills with little movement of the left hand. I am not using any special setups or periferals, I have a logitech K350 keyboard and mouse combo that I bought at staples…I think it was around $50. Not sure, bought it about 2 years ago.
With any keybinding changes, DO NOT make the change and jump into pvp. YOU WILL HIT THE WRONG SKILLS. It is a lot easier to adjust to keybindings while playing a character in PvE. I recommend going to PvE and just going to an easier zone for a while. If you wish to start a new character, lvl 10 should be about the time you adjust fully.
That about does it. I am sure that over the next few days I will be editing this and revising (spelling errors and the like).
I hope everyone enjoys and I am looking forward to your comments.

Reasoning
I know the first thing that is going to happen is people coming at me with: “Why did you take THAT skill?”, “That looks so stupid, you should have used THIS”, or even the dreaded “L2P NOOB!!!1!!”.
First things first: GO AWAY. I am posting my build for constructive criticism and to share it with others who might be interested in something like this. If you do not fall into one of the previously mentioned categories, please GTFO. Thank you.
Now where was I?….. Oh yeah.
As you can see, this is a build that relies on meditation skills. It allows you to use them instantly, use them often (sort of), and heals you each time that you do. For example, Smite Condition can be used instantly every 16 seconds. The heal itself isn’t very strong and it will not allow you to live through a massive burst, but every little bit helps. We have stun breakers, teleports, conditions, as well as some boons. I feel this is a well rounded build that has served me well in sPVP. I admit, I use something different when I am in tourney play. This build, while it DOES assist allies, is more of a self-help kind of build. If I have a good enough response to this build post, I will share my tourney build with you all. It has more team synergy than this build, but follows a similar thinking.
I welcome any and all questions about this build and will update this guide with any info needed. If you post an actual question as to why I chose one thing instead of another I will answer it. It all relies on people being able to conduct themselves properly when they pose a question.
Good morning guildies! I am Ezviir, nice to meet you.

A quick bit about myself:
I played GW1 since launch, falling in love with the pvp system. As a burst ele named Elemental Shame, I would walk around melting the faces of anyone who dared to get in my way.
I was pulled into the WoW world by a few friends of mine, where I rose in the arena rankings on my holy paladin, securing a 2k rating during Wrath in 3v3 and 5v5. Once Cata came out, I lost interest.
As I waited for GW2 I began game jumping to see how I stacked against others. In Rift I was a superb healer on my cleric, Tera I was a superb healer on a priest…
If you can’t tell, I love pvp and I love to heal. I just can’t help it. This bit has been stupid, but it is mainly to show that I am not so new when it comes to pvp.
Now, I do not spend my time scouring the interwebs for builds, so there is a good chance that someone has hit this already…hell, probably made a guide for it. If this is the case, I apologize for any toes that I might be stepping on.
I welcome any and all CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. If you have any flaming to do, please move it elsewhere. It has no effect on this world but to show how horrible of a person you are and furthers the argument of selective euthanasia. Now that that is over, on to the REAL reason for this post: my build.
This build, I have found, puts forth some great damage, while being able to stand your ground while you wait for buddies to arrive. It has its ups and downs (mainly the fact that you have to know how to deal with people while they can knock you away, seeing as how I do not include stability in this build).
Before you start yelling at me about how stupid I am for not taking it, realize this: this build isn’t meant to be a beat all, win all build. It is meant to give you some decent survivability while putting out very decent damage. If not having stability is an issue for you, maybe this build isn’t for you.

Before I begin I would like to take this moment to apologize in advance. This thread will sound like a whiny complaint from a prepubescent teenager, and it kind of is (minus the prepubescent teenager part lol).
I was so happy to see the new event coming. I made plans on what places to go when, who to see, things like that. I started the update at the exact moment the connection issues started last night. I knew it was due to server load, brushed it off and decided to come back later, once the servers had opened up a little bit.
I came back later to start the download and got through. It looked like a huge download, but I had expected this since it was the holiday update.
On a quick but important side note: I live in a very rural area. The closest thing to high speed internet I can get here is a Sprint Mobile 3G Hotspot. This little baby gives me a massive 0.6 Megs of download speed PER SECOND!! Witness the future >.>. The cable company wont even let me pay to run a line out here. “We have no serviceable lines in your area and we have no intention to extend to that region in the foreseeable future.” God, how I hate them…
Sorry.
That being said, it takes me forever to download anything. Being used to this, I started my download and opened a flash game to play while I waited. Everything was going great until…
BAM!!! <~~~~Imagine that shaking your screen with its intensity.
That’s how it seemed anyway. Everything crashed. I was kicked back to my desktop, like when explorer.exe crashes. One thing was unaffected: Guild Wars 2. It sat there downloading my holiday cheer like nothing has happened. I was even getting decent speeds…well…what I consider decent speeds here.
I had no pointer, Ctrl+Shift+Esc brought up nothing, so I decided to go with the good-ole’ Ctrl+Alt+Del. Prepare for the shaking…
BAM!!! BSOD. In my face. It did the physical dump (I didn’t think to write down the error because it was 2 in the morning), then rebooted. I let it run checkdisk, and it found 4 bad sectors. This bothered me because I recently purchased this drive.
Deciding I would deal with it in the morning, (everything booted up good, sectors said they had been repaired) I started up GW2 again to start the rest of my download before I went to bed.
It seems that the areas that were bad are the areas containing my GW2 files. The launcher said it needed to do a full repair and started the download.
With 227,327 files left to download, I am hoping that I can make it back in before everything is over.
I don’t blame this on ArenaNet, I’m not really blaming anyone. It just really sucks and I needed to let loose. This has always been my favorite GW Holiday and it sucks that there is a good chance that I will end up missing it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this whiny thread, sorry no cheese here. I warned you guys at the beginning, don’t start flaming me because you didn’t see this coming.
Well…I guess this is the end of my crying…
Have fun all and be well.
