Guild Wars 2

So i think i am going to start out a ranger and i was wondering whats the best build to use with the longbow, and for the record, i spend most of the time roaming in pve and doing dungeons.

It was mainly for the Empower ability.

So i started a Guardian a few days ago and i intend to follow this build, http://intothemists.com/guides/3793-max_utility_dps_hammer_guardian (all credits go to Obal, the creator of this build).

My question is, i wanted to switch the GS for a staff (if that´s a good thing) and if i did that should i change any traits, also, would switching the skills to the signets that give 10% damage reduction and improved power “damage” the build?

So i just bought a 2000 Gem Card and i would like to ask what would you guys buy? This is my first time with gems so i was thinking in buying the bank tab expansion and the collection expander since i am kinda of a hoarder, that leaves me with 400 gems, should i trade it for money or just leave them alone?
