- It’s ridiculous to say that people just need to learn to play. This is the first dungeon that players encounter. It should be teaching how 5 man dungeons work, provide a challenge but nothing impossible.
- The spider queen and her baby pets are spitting poison at an insane rate, faster than any cool-downs characters might have to try and counter it or dodge. You eventually succumb as you use up your skills and dodges.
You know how people play this one? They stack in the corner by the stairs, train the mobs and aoe the crap out of everything. I don’t know if that’s how the designers intended the fight to go (because that’s very boring) but it works — and it’s what everyone does to get past it.
The thing is broken, pure and simple.
Someone please link a YouTube video where lvl 35-40s go in with lvl 35-40 gear and accomplish it.
Everyone in the video is lvl 80 (if you are referring to the sticky). You used to be able to do the explorable dungeons when you were their advertised level (eg. 35 for AC explore). Now it’s virtually impossible unless you have a full group of 80s.
If the dev’s intend you to be 80 when doing the dungeon, or have all masterwork armor (which most 35s don’t) — they should say so on the entrance pop-up.
Several threads have already been made about this subject, including a video thread with a party of level 35s in masterwork gear going through it.
Request close/merge, please.
I enjoyed playing the dungeon with a group for story mode (lvl 30). It’s impossible to play with anyone not 80 for the lvl 35. I don’t see the point in saying it’s a lvl 35 dungeon, if a group of 35s cannot even hope to complete it. They should say it’s lvl 80. It’d be better to give 80s a “expert” mode or something.
With the new ‘guesting’ feature that is coming up, is there going to be any thought put towards creating a group finder for dungeons? The fact that gw2lfg.com exists shows that this feature is sorely lacking in GW2.
I’d run dungeons more if I were able to actually find groups for them without having to waste a bunch of time going to LA and spamming for a group, or using gw2lfg.com and again hoping someone private messages me (and I don’t miss the message during an intense fight).
I know GW2 is relatively new, but RIFT and other modern MMORPGs added these kinds of feature pretty early on.
I think dungeons are the weakest aspect of this game right now, imho. You can argue if they’re level-up content or lvl 80 content. The fact I get a letter to say “hey visit this dungeon” at various levels makes me believe they’re not just end-game content.
AC is the first, and my favorite dungeon. I don’t waste any time in CM and I used to like TA – but I’m really hating it now.
Dungeons don’t seem to do anything but suck up time. The rewards are not that awesome. They also employ mechanics that just seem pointless – they don’t add to fun or provide any unique challenge … they just annoy.
I’m finding it really hard to get people to group with me and go into a dungeon. I think this is because they’re simply not that fun or rewarding. I rather do world events – you get better xp, and it’s more fun.
