I agree with the need for better communication between players, especially in guilds. The entire OP is full of good suggestions that ANet should be seriously considering.
At least get the “last online” stat working as a starting point.
Also, it’d be great for you to be able to have multiple tabs of guild chat open at once (one for each of your guilds)
