Video games are designed for men, most men like skinny girls with medium sized breasts or hourglass figures with impossible hip-waist ratios and tremendous bosoms. I am sure someone will come in here and say that they prefer a different body shape but with limited time and resources the team will design bodies that they think are most attractive to their player base.
Yes, it is kittened up and yes it is unfair to real women to have those expectations placed on them. Do I feel disgusted with myself for finding both of those physiques attractive? Not really. It is difficult to change the wiring of perceived attractiveness when we are bombarded with digitally enhanced perfection 24 7 and both those body types cater to men biologically.
I doubt this game is out there to subvert the patriarchal subjugation of the female body or appease the feminist critique on body image. Their modelers are probably more interested in designing hats or sunglasses for sale, just saying.

-Hourly experience boosters purchased with the gems
-My Guild Wars 2 pre-order (purchased with my buddy’s credit card).
I was convinced to play this game on the grounds that I would not have to gear grind to optimize my character. The new patch contradicts the game’s marketed philosophy and I simply do not have the personal time to stay on a gear treadmill.
I wish Anet all the best and respect their decisions, it’s your intellectual property after all. But I would like a refund.

I bought some gems and leveling boosters. I am disappointed with the new content update as I got into this game under the impression that I wouldn’t have to farm too much to stay competitive, I simply don’t have the time and WoW handles that style better anyway.

I’m just getting into this game and can’t decide between thief, mesmer and engineer.
So far the only class I’ve tried in pvp is the Engineer and I was a bit disappointed that the most effective way to contribute in WvW was spamming grenades. I am still attached to the ideas behind the thief concept: the adrenaline pumper who operates in high-risk areas, gets quick kills and books it. Is how the thief plays? How do they stack up 1 v 1? I watched some videos of Guardians fighting Warriors and was blown away by how dynamic the duelling was compared to WoW. Is the thief similarly engaging or are they sort of a one-trick pony?
I’ve played a lot of TF2 spy – I enjoy the hit-and-run style. Not to self-aggrandize, but I am not your typically useless spy and can carry teams. However my game comes from knowledge of the maps, player psychology, positioning and etc rather than superb ambassador aim/trick stab coordination.
Do you think thief is right for me? Thanks for the input.

Hi gang, GW1 player looking to hop on and see what the fuss is all about.
Friends and I are trying to pick a server with good latency but we can’t find a list of locations.
We are based in Alberta, Canada (Central-West). Anything near Seattle would be good.
Do you have any recommendations?
