If it’s any use the disconnect code is Code=7:0:0:781:101
Same for me here. Human Elementalist. I get the loading screen up for several minutes then I get a disconnect message flash up. I’ve tried several times now.
Please fix this asap, it’s blocking my progress in the game.
Just thought I’d add my two penneth.
I’ve had this problem as well, occurs mainly in larger scale battles in WvW, which I have consequently stopped playing now because of the problem. It can also be seen in for example the Trading House room in LA.
I was contemplating getting a new video card as mine is pretty old and I’m also experiencing some lag in larger battles, which makes WvW basically a crap shoot for me. Sometimes feels like I’m wading through glue but PvE is fine for me.
I think most things are fine with the game so far. In relation to your specific comments.
Solo vs Group: I think the respawn rates in some areas are too fast. If you find yourself in some areas alone you can very quickly become overwhelmed by the respawned mobs you just killed on your way into the zone. While I appreciate that the high respawns are necessary due to the number of players in some areas I feel the game would be better if player density in a zone was monitored and the respawn rates tweaked accordingly.
I can handle a veteran mob and maybe one or two adds at the same time. What I can’t handle is a couple of axes slamming into the back of my head from the two mobs I just killed to get to the veteran mob while I’m doing it.
It’s not always appropriate to get a group for every situation “Looking for group to get that point of interest in the cave with the centaurs”, probably wouldn’t work too well.
On groups in general, I do think the game would benefit from a better LFG mechanic. Maybe along the lines of the one in City of Heroes where you can just queue for an instance and once there are enough people it starts. After all the holy trinity is no longer needed apparently so a mixed group should work, shouldn’t it?
At the moment there are people looking for dungeons using the Map channel in ( for example ) Queensdale, Lions Arch and Divinity’s Reach for Cadeceus’s Manor and never the twain shall meet.
Level Adjustment: I’m fine with it. got my backside kicked by the troll in Queensdale last night when I’m level 41 and actually found it refreshing. Made me realise I’d been fighting lazily. That won’t happen again.
Crafting: I struggled at first as I didn’t realise that discoveries pay all the experience. Since I realised that I’m motoring and I’m tailoring/artificing. So not the easiest in terms of drops. My biggest annoyance at the moment is that it seems pointless at lower levels to make any money from crafting, the trading post prices seem all messed up with people selling stuff for little more than they can get at a vendor.
Event Notification: Should be better. Basically if you’re the right level ( maybe 1/2 your level and it’s on your map, you should know about it ). The rest, chains etc. is down to experience. Always talk to the event starter after an event, simple.
WvW: Haven’t tried it yet, tried queuing last night as I need to get a few levels before hitting my next area but didn’t get in. There are plenty of resources on the internet that explain it. Yes, it would be nice to be lead through it in game but it is possible to learn it elsewhere, so there is no excuse not to really.
Other than that, I think the game wins big. It’s beautiful, fun and I see very little trouble being caused out there. A big A+ from me.
I’m looking for a guild on Piken Square.
I’m a UK based 42 years old male and a long time roleplayer – ideally I’d like to play with other mature, but not necessarily older players. The guild doesn’t need to be a UK based guild but it would be nice if you spoke mainly English.
I’m not massively into PvP, but will probably take on some WvW and maybe some PvP at some stage but only once I reach level 80 or get bored of PvE.
I wouldn’t say I’m massively into roleplaying for roleplaying sakes. I’m not the kind to stand around in a pub chatting and throwing out emotes. However I do like playing with people that have characters that have real names that they’ve thought about and people that at least try and talk in character while playing. I’m not into 133t speak and don’t want to see it in guild chat. I don’t even like abbreviations.
One thing that I really can’t stand is players that group up with you and then proceed to spoil the whole game by saying things like “Okay down here there is such and such a monster – we need to do this and then this etc.” or players that have done a dungeon/area before and just run hell for leather around. This spoils my immersion. I’m playing to experience the game, not get experience from the game.
I would describe myself as a casual/semi serious player. However if a guild event doesn’t match my schedule I wouldn’t want to get a hard time for missing it. Sometimes I’ll want to log and just play and not be bothered chatting or helping out in guild. Although on other occasions I’ll bend over backwards to help people.
My playing times are from around 4pm to 7pm, then from around 9pm – 11pm week nights and variable over the weekends depending what I’m up to.
From a combat perspective, I like to try and think things through, pull where necessary, plan attacks etc. I’m not a rush in and regret it type of player – usually
I would consider myself at a reasonable playing level and am I putting some time into working out my builds.
I have an Elementalist at 30, Ranger 7, Engineer 5, Guardian 5, Necro 7 and plan to buy three other slots and create the other 3 character types. I’m planning to develop all my crafting skills on the various characters.
I should be around for a good few years.
I would expect the guild to be well lead. However I don’t want to be in a massive guild or too small a guild. Somewhere between 20-50 people would suit me fine.
Anyone got a guild that might be of interest to me?
My main is an elementalist and I have a question that hopefully someone can answer.
If I take Arcane IV – Final Shielding as a trait and Arcane XII – Elemental Surge.
Will the Arcane Shield triggered at 25% health also set off the relevant elemental surge condition?
Thanks in advance.
