A lvl 80 conditional damage ele PvE?

Elementalists are awful at condi builds, esp in pve. Theres a few reasons for this, most of our condi dmg can be situational (dagger offhand 4 skill, scepter 2, etc). Regardless of that, we cannot stack condi’s very well and 2 of our 4 attunements do 0 condi dmg.

Why people insist on condi dmg when most of our skills do great power dmg is confusing, we have no weapon set that is set for condi dmg like other classes. Condi dmg is merely a… convenient side effect of using our skills.

I write this because if you REALLY wanted to do a build, it would not be cheap. I would suggest a mix of carrion/celestial which could take time. I HIGHLY suggest not wasting the time.

For organized guilds, staff ele’s are very important. It can also be a lot of fun. If you are roaming than scepter/dagger fresh air builds is some of the best fun i have had in awhile.
If you want to just have some fun, d/d can make a decent frontline build so you can play with the melees.

I would honestly say ele’s are one of the top 4 classes for 10+ man engagements in wvw. (Guards/warriors/necros being the other 3). So do not listen to the people who hate on the class in this aspect of the game.

A DPS Build that uses AH?

in Guardian

The fantastic thing about Guardians is you can have AH in almost any dps build… because you also get 30% crit dmg from the same tree. Your other points can be used where ever you feel comfortable… such as 20 points in power for more dmg to burning targets and 5% more dmg on gs w/heals. If you want even more survivablity run 20 points in the vitality tree for shout CD and might on crit.

Then you can pretty much go crazy with your gear. Guardians are naturally tanky, even more so with AH active. Plus the meta these days is to do as much dps as possible, so the build fits well into that.

As for weapons, if you really want to max dps I believe the highest rotation you can do is between gs/sword-focus. If you want more team support, gs-staff, and if you want to hybrid suitability and dps, gs-hammer. Sword and focus you use the 3-5 skills, switch and symbol/auto with gs. GS/staff- pop staff 4, atk with gs. GS/Hammer – dps with greatsword/use hammer on bosses/pulls you know your party will have trouble on.

Firstly – Sword is our highest dps weapon, does NOT lean towards condition dmg unless you mean to use torch offhand.

2nd- Someone posted what they called a “Bleeding Hearts” build that used a hybrid longbow (dps bow) build with axe/warhorn (for cc/buffs) that was shown to do extremely well. (pvp strictly)

3rd- Cant have everything, be creative.

Lingering Curse has been proven to go past 100% condition duration. It is the only trait that allows more than 100%, Nemesis has done extensive testing and proves this in video format which you can easily find.
