This is actually a known trick atm. You probably have one of the AC dagger equipped. When you apply the Incinerator skin to the AC dagger at night time it’ll produce that effect and it’s not just with the dagger. There’s some pretty interesting effects with other legendaries. You shouldn’t be getting the effects during daytime.
Anet might fix it or they might leave it.
If you’re still looking for a guild, I would recommend to stop your search and join [vVv]!
I use to co-run a guild with another community up until when the guild puzzle was able to be activated. By that time majority of my guild members were burnt out from us farming everything in order to get the guild missions as soon as it became possible. I took a small break and by the time autumn rolled around, my guild had become almost empty. That’s when I joined vVv. I had an amazing time there and it left a deep impression on me. Because of my old friends, I left vVv to join them and from there I drifted from one guild to another trying to find the right one. Just recently I contacted Bagzli and rejoined vVv because it reminded me of my old guild so much. They’re a tight knit community and there’s always so much to do throughout the game. They’re friendly, kind, and warm players and they’re willing to guide anybody that’s confused on their path of exploring the vast world of Tyria.
In my personal opinion one of the thing that keeps bringing me back to this game is the guild that I’m with. If they’re friendly, kind, and warm, I find myself wanting to enjoy and share the game with my guild mates. Mumble is a great way to facilitate that. However like what my old friend use to say as well, as an established guild, they can only do so much to make you feel welcomed. It is also on your own shoulder to take the initiative, say something in guild chat, hop onto the forum on their website and introduce yourself, or even better get in the mumble server and start getting to know each other. Little by little, you’ll get to know each other more and more and that just makes the game a lot more interesting to play.
So what are you waiting for? Instead of reading about the guild, take the initiative, log onto game and join the guild to find out what it’s like to be a part of [vVv]!
@ Simplicity.7208 I don’t know if you and I were watching the same vid, but I’m pretty sure I saw some kills going on throughout the 13:55min video that daphoneix posted. It does not take skill to burst someone down, take a look @ a theif, spam some buttons and boom the enemies dead, if you’re an ele it takes a lot longer of a learning curve to actually learn how to play well with the ele. With a low health base pool, it’s crucial for ele to stay alive and keep constant damage.
Anyways back to my questions: Foods/Tuning Crystal/Sharpening Stone: Which one do you have when you’re wvwing? I’ve been looking around and like the Plates of Steak and Truffles but that’s power based, should I go something into that would increase my boon duration instead?
So, I ran enough fractals to buy my first 20 slot equipment boxes. As I went around farming and gathering I noticed that the items that were in my 20fractal box slots did not move when I tried to compact my inventory even though I had empty slots that was available ahead. Was wondering if that was working as intended of if it was indeed a bug.
Nov. 15th/16th. It’s only been the biggest thing after the halloween event now…
Okay, here’s what I think about ele’s elite skill, like previous mentioned before the glyps of elementals is my personal favorite. I usually pop it under earth attunement. However for AC, whenever I have a mesmer with time warp skill, I usually pop my fiery greatsword. Greatsword+Time Warp=Annihilation of champions especially if there are two of them. Should try it out sometime, it’s fun.
I would have to agree with Naqaj, it seems like a WvW map completion. Even though you have all the skill points, you might not necessarily have all the poi’s and vista that are around in the WvW maps especially in eternal battleground. How about the PvP map areas? I don’t know if you need the waypoints there or not…
Well I do believe that they patched it… there was a patch shortly after Act 2 opened up and they probably fixed it up via that patch… Now just a bunch of greens and stuff.
@daphoneix
Thanks for the reply, I’ll try working it out and see what the range is.
@Aethelitt
This is the current key bind that I’m using and I find it very effective, all focused on/around my left so I don’t have reach very far. It always take some time to get use to the change in key bind so I would recommend hoping into PvE and try practicing it until your brain adjusts to the keys and then test it out in PvP..

First off I would like to thank everybody that contributed in this thread on working on a build for an elementalist. I love the videos and it has def. changed my mind about how I should go about changing my play style. However I wanted to pose a question on this thread, although I love that D/D playstyle, in WvW, it doesn’t seem practical when my guild/zerg is attacking a keep/tower.
I would love to switch to staff for the AOE fields. Then once we’re back on our way, I would love to be able to switch over to D/D to tackle some mobs or even possibily back to staff when we encounter large mobs. This would require the switching weapon function which we don’t have as an ele, so I’ve always have my inventory up in the smallest size it can go and in the top right hand corner so I can easily switch weapons as needed. Question: Does anyone know what’s considered in combat aside from the obivious? Sometimes I won’t have any condition stack on me, no mobs attacking me, but I still can’t change gathering picks/change weapon.
Is there any clarification that would detail what would be considered “in-combat” I would love to be in WvW and run into a “small” mob of defenders and only to get in close range and realize that it’s actually 30+invaders and pull back, go out of combat and switch over to a staff. Sorry for the long rant. Any help is appreciated!
While I love the idea of getting karma for reviving players, it’ll probably be unlikely that it’ll be added into the game. From what you’re suggesting any rev will give you karma, therefore it doesn’t have to be a player that’s getting revived. It could be npcs, I can’t think of any specific location off the top of my head but I do know for a fact that there are muliptle areas in the world where npcs died from fitting mobs and that’s an exploitable area right there. True it may take some time, but that’ll make it so easy to create a macro for and leave it on overnight to farm karma. The way I see it, Anet doesn’t want everybody getting legendaries so fast, therefore that’s part of a reason of the DR in DE, I like it that way as well, although not really happy about the system, it is comforting that Lion’s Arch won’t be all full of rainbows and black trails, and everybody having a legendary in the near future.
Okay I just wanted to say that farming those T6 powerful blood is not a problem. You just need to take the time and look for them. I’ve recieved plenty from frostgroge sound and some other places in the world. Currently sitting on 51 stack of them right now. Happy Hunting.
I only reason I went with cooking was for the gift that requires the use of a 400 chef. I thought that anyone could make the gift for me, but I soon found out that it was account-bound…. stinks for me and I had to go and level chef to 400. OH well.
From what I’ve send from different game; like what tom said;usually after a certain time period online, a popup will appear and you’ll be ask a certain question with a question, spot the difference, or a general question. Make the pool of question so it’s not easily recognizable.
I’ve been following this thread for amusement entertainment and I love how Prototype’s post was deleted after a refresh. IN that reply, you weren’t acting all “calm” and “high-intelligent” level as you are now… something like “/SBIQQ, Noob, LOL LOL /SBI” just stating
I would love to see an Arah dungeon guide as well. I have tried looking via the internet with no result. I’ve seen bits and pieces on the youtube about each separate boss fights but no complete guide. I have a great team for runs but just from the story mode, it’s unbelievably hard. Need 3runs for my gift for my bitfrost.
I only want the chat box to be able to move in different places then two spots. Maybe out of the window chat box would be nice.
Or even if you don’t want to go for the long run, you could just make it so that it won’t appear in PvE maps at all. We only need those commanders in WvW (That is also questionable…) so why not just make it so that the icon only appear in WvW.
