Hi all. I’ve recently decided to swap back to playing gw2 after a fairly long break. I have a lvl 80 thief and a lvl 80 ranger and am going to give both a try to see which i prefer. I haven’t played for a long while so am looking for some help.
I’ve never really been brilliant at stealth so would prefer a build that is not reliant on using stealth. I’m aiming to do world completion so need mostly pve with a bit of pvp to enable me to complete the various maps. If you could provide me with a rough build (i can happily tweak stuff as i go once i have the basics) and include a rough idea of the stats, runes and sigils i should pick to go with it. Cheers

cheers for all the advice that explains a lot i think i’ll try toughness as it seems to match more with what i have done in previous mmos but will try both out now i understand them more

Just curious what people feel is better for personal survivability Toughness or Vitality and why. I am just starting to properly play the game although i have owned it since before launch (pre-purchase) and have played several mmos prior to this one (WoW, Guild Wars, Rift, SWTOR amongst others) and so have a fair idea in general of playing but was unsure which would be better to take as a trait for my thief to boost survival but would prefer a more general response rather than profession specific so i have a better understanding when i play other characters later on.
