Every GW2 map exists in an specific time frame. Thats why Orr is still full with Zhaitans minions and only one little instanced area shows any sign of Trahearnes cleansing. Why? Because new players. Is it bad? No, not at all.
Think about it like this. You play the game today for the first time as a human. The tutorial is all about centaurs raiding shaemoor. But in the background you see DR with queen Jennahs feedback bubble. And every NPC in the city talks about the recent white mantle attack. Why? Didn’t the game tell you 20 seconds prior that the centaurs are the biggest thread right now?
Look at all the personal story missions located in LA. You explore the city as it is today but as soon as you enter the mission, it is old LA all of the sudden. No explanation why or what was happening. Thats the kind of stuff new people, and LW1 player, don’t want ever again in GW2.
Yeah I also hate the fact, that Kessex Hills will stay that way for all eternity. But I would hate it even more if suddenly half of the world would forever change. You liked this one specific spot in map X and spend many hours there for whatever reason? Oh too bad! It’s gone now…
Also, does it ever say how Lazarus is able to bypass the Exalted security to get into Aurene’s chamber? I guess that’s kind of irrelevant given that primordus minions got in though.
Short after our arrival, the magical barrier that is protecting the chamber has fallen or was disturbed by something/someone. Thats how the destroyers and Lazarus got in.
But we don’t know yet if Lazarus brought them to this place or not. We don’t even know why the barrier was weakened in the first place. (And until today, none GW2 character did care enough about it to put in some research.) Maybe Aurene absorbed a bit of the surrounding magic and thats why.

And don’t forget my favorite GW1 grumpy cat Pyre Fierceshot and his very own human pet Gwen. I miss these two :/
Kyle or Kasmeers father would be incredible cheap… I don’t know and/or care for either one of them.
And if we look at the “reborn” theory, you get several thousand possible characters. Every single soul that was sacrificed on the bloodstone could be inside Lazarus now. Even if the swaped aspect needs to be connected to that specific soul. The white mantle killed humans from all over the world on this thing.
I don’t like the idea of an completly new or yet unknown character as Lazarus. Arena Net should do one reveal at a time and not some “Hey Lazarus is X who is ALSO E/Kasmeers father/Kyle or Jeff from Shaemoor who sells bread to the player” nonsense…
Yes we have seen Lazarus teleport between locations instantly. He teleports more than once in Dragon Vigil within our line of sight, and more importantly it’s instantaneous teleportation between two different spots in the same room, so it’s literally impossible for,it to have just been Lazarus slipping between worlds and coming back, and each, time he teleports, there’s the same flash of light as when he first, shows up in that, mission. So yes, we have very definite proof that Lazarus can indeed teleport.
Or maybe this is just a common ability that the PC also can use. (Shadowstep, Blink, Lightnings Flash…) Invisibility is also a utility the PC can easily use with well known skills. That Lazarus teleports inside one room doesn’t mean he can do the same thing from far away.
This character, whoever it turns out to be, is playing with us. It wouldn’t be that absurd if all we saw from his power thus far, was also a well planned “charade”.
I did some reading on the whole human god thingy. It’s true, you don’t get instantly blinded if you look at them. So this theory is back on the table, I guess.
There are 2 possible reasons why he enters Rata Novus.
First: Omadd’s machine.
Second: The asura portal to ember bay or a new place that is not yet known.
Why? The first one is pretty obvious according to the trailer. I mean, he stands right in front of it…
But why the asura portal? He clearly teleported in episode 2 inside the egg chamber from who knows how far away. But the lore of Guild Wars (Prophecies) is pretty much clear in that regard. If mursaats had the power to teleport freely all over the world, then why build mursaat portals to fire island chain in the first place? There is no evidence in GW1 or GW2 that mursaat easaly could teleport wherever they want. And we know, also since Prophecies, that the white mantle had ships (and used them) to reach the fire islands.
This theory would only be relevant if our “Lazarus” friend is indeed an actual mursaat. But by the current look of it, he is not. And it is highly unlikely that anyone in tyria can freely teleport around the globe. Further more, if Kasmeers reaction in the trailer is caused by the real identidy of Lazarus, there is no chance that he is one of the human gods in disguise. (Because she would go blind the moment she looks at Lazarus.)
The fact that he teleported in the egg chamber is no evidence for any of this. For all we know, he could easily entered through the main door with us or short after. The magical barrier was down after all.
My point is simple. Even with all the power “Lazarus” absorbed at bloodstone fen, he has to follow the same rules as every other being on Tyria. Supercharged by magic or not. Teleportation is one if this rules as we know since LW1 and LW2, mostly explained by Taimi during scarlets experiments. And “mist walking” is also no possibility if he isn’t a real mursaat or god.
But maybe we shouldn’t talk about WHERE he wants to go. Rata Novus and, for that matter, Omadd’s machine could be his goal in first place. I am more interested in the question “what” he thinks he will find in Rata Novus.
I really liked Scarlet. But I dont hope that you are right with this theory. Sorry…
If the portal to Ember Bay is his goal, then yes, he intentionally comes down to us without us intercepting him. The interception applies if he moves past Rata Novus because it’s on the way.
And it doesn’t really matter whether he’s facing the portal or away, because if he’s facing it, it’s his target, and if he’s not facing it, it could be because we interupted him
Great way of ignoring everything else I said after the facing the portal comment. As I mentioned previously, he’s shown the capability to teleport into the egg chamber (from what distance we don’t know) and teleport in the egg chamber repeatedly. We also have the Lazarus staredown with the golem like thing. Also Lazarus can fly. There’s evidence of Lazarus being interested in something other than just using the portal to go to Ember Bay. I’m not convinced his end goal is the Maw of Abaddon. There simply isn’t enough evidence for it.
Isn’t this the second release from the ember bay team? There is this strange room on top of the mursaat fortress with carvings on the floor and an door that won’t open. Maybe this “Lazarus” person wants to open the door and this is why he travels to Rata Novus. I mean… Even we, as player, can’t enter this room without the mursaat “glamour”.
Can someone remember what symbols were on this sealed door? (Not the outside one. That’s the eye of janthir.) For some strange reason I think the symbol was eternal alchemy related. Maybe thats a good reason for him to stop by in Rata Novus. Taimi was talking about Omadds machine in the last episode.

The “real” Lazarus in GW1 was very clear about what he wants to do.
“Accursed human! You have done this to me! I will not forget this!”
“Countless generations will suffer for your actions this day!”
At the moment, we don’t know who he is and what it takes for someone to make himself look like Lazarus. But if you need any connection to the real one for managing this, it is most likely there are some parts of Lazarus left. His soul is not complete because one of the aspects was fake, but still… One aspect out of how many?
Iam not saying whoever looks like him is plain evil like Larzarus. But if there is anything present from the real one, we at least have to expect an struggel between “I will kill you all!” and “I really want to help.”

Itss a margonite. Abaddon is coming.
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Margonite
Look at the purple aura at the trailer match the purple from margonites, and abadon is the god of secrets.
Abaddon is gone for good because Kormir overtook all his power in the final Nightfall mission. So if Lazarus is some kind of “god”, he is most likely not Abaddon.
