Hello, I love the idea of micro managing summons in any kind of game so I love my necro in the GW1 and GW2 so therefore I was kinda wondering what weapons and gear set i would need, I’m running on full apothecary exotics with the superior rune of the undead and I’m using scepter/dagger with staff as swap. I use apothecary for the conditions and toughness, and since i have the superior rune i do more condition dmg. I have the healing since i put points into blood to heal myself when minions do dmg and when i pop DS and use life transfer it will heal my pets and allies, kinda tried it some dungeons and it was ok.
I know for sure that you’re stats will never benefit your minions but still being able to spread diseases and aoe down stuff while getting nuked by minions seems pretty good. But with the changes and the fact that i have been on in a while, i noticed that axe/focus seems pretty good now and since you will apply vulnerability minions should be able to do more dmg right? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated and also would like hear on any advice on some wvw builds and if MMs could be useful in them. Thank you very much.
Thanks for the post, helped out a lot, I usually like to run a class that has summons or sort of dot damage type (warlock, witch doctor, gw1 necro, etc). The only thing I have beef with right now is the lack of AI that the minions have. I’m sure you read A LOT of complaints about it and I apologize in advance if bringing it up gets under your skin, but as a huge fan of being a summoner in other games, I hope you understand what I’m trying to get at. I recently got back into playing and noticed they added a new set of gear called Apothecary (condition, toughness, healing. I think) I wanted to craft that for my necro thinking that could be good for either MM or condition based necro with scepter/dagger combo with staff as swap. Wanted to get your opinion about it and about MM Necros, your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Don’t know if someone has already put this up or not (haven’t bothered looking) but was hoping they would add some sort of feature in the gem store to add a consumable item that will allow you to change your race or something. I play Norn and racial skills are fun, but unreliable lol, but when it comes to doing things like jumping puzzles or have that feeling like I’m moving slow does bother me. So if there is talk about ArenaNet adding this feature, awesome, if not well I’m sure I am not the only wanting this option to change races.
Hello, I’m on Sorrow’s Furnace at the moment and feel as if the server itself is kinda dieing down and would not mind searching for a new home and might bring more people with me in the long run. I’m looking for a guild that has a good size amount of members, not just have about 30 members and only have about 5 online at a time. As well as a server that knows how to work together in WvW, not that I’m gonna leech from the server or anything but hate seeing my server getting their butt wooped almost every night.
I’m not a complete noob but I know how to raid, will look up boss mechanics, be a team player for the sake of my guildies, and will work on pvp skills for WvW. Been a WoW player since BC and played GW1 up to eye of the north.
I would have to be more lenient towards the PVE right now before I go into WvW. I know you can enter whenever you feel like it but i would like to have the gear before anything I do. So some PVP mixed in would definitely be a plus. If anyone can send me a tell or a description with rules and requirements would be terrific.
On a side note, I don’t care about language filters or if cursing isn’t allowed don’t bother sending me a guild description to join. I play to have fun and lean back for enjoyment, more casual than anything, but still keep that respect amongst players.
If anyone ever read any previous posts that i put up, I talked about MM Necros. Its a love/hate thing towards the build because we all know how terrible the AI for minions is. I get it and it has been spoken about for who knows how long now and I hope AN actually begins to focus on the problem. So aside with the AI, when the minions do begin to do damage anyone who is a summoner lover would understand how cool that is to watch.
The other thing I need help with besides that build, I did go condition damage necro with scepter/dagger and a staff for swap. It is pretty cool to pretty much take on about 4 or 5 mobs at a time kite and just watch them melt away but for me it just got too boring for me to do the same routine over and over.
Now I did do some dungeons with the MM build, it wasn’t TOO bad but its funny how the AI works better in dungeons than in the world maps. I kinda use the build for the group’s meat shield and pop well of blood and I have the trait for my death shroud that my life transfer will heal nearby allies for the extra heals.
Now my question is, should I stick with my MM build or is there a lot of talk that condition damage necros are just so much better?
Glad to see I ain’t the only person here that loves doing the whole micro management of pets. Its what I rolled in many games (WoW, D2,D3, GW1, etc).
I did try out the condition build and honestly it got REALLY boring for me fast. For me it felt like a kite festival and just had to run around the target like a chicken with his head cut off. Plus what bothers me about it is the fact when you trying to destroy an object that’s part of a heart quest, takes forever and a day. I wanna see bursty numbers up with pets and I love seeing my target swarmed with my minions (when they’re working).
Anyone have a clue where we can input this bug even further to show that its really dreadful for people who really wanna work on an MM necro? Seems like they’re more worried with balance rather than just fixing simple things such as this (if it is a simple thing). If they did this, I can happily say goodbye to my Guardian and Elementalist.
I would like to know when exactly they will be fixing the necromancer minions AI. I know for sure I ain’t the only one that seems to be having the same issue where some of your minions will just sit there and chill while others do attack. Not to mention that the flesh golem will end up attacking an enemy when you dont want it to. So I hope they fix these AI problems soon.
A couple of friends and I are looking for a guild in Sorrow’s Furnace that is well active and likes to do high end level events, dungeons, and wvw. Hit me up so I can check out guild status.
