When the game started my friends and I used to craft stuff for each other so we always had what we needed with the professions we wanted to play. I cooked food and tailored, one of my friends made staffs for me and another one the daggers.
Nowadays the social aspect of crafting goes to heck. If you want ascended gear, you need to level all the professions for it, otherwise there is no way to get it.

/agree – the large amount of account bound stuff lately is a big shame, particularly in crafting, but also many other things that I know I would just like to send to friends (geodes is one example).

Well I have just received a response from Chase @ the support team who, after telling me to empty my mailbox, that if I still didn’t receive anything, I don’t qualify. I haven’t received anything.

Here’s a screenshot of my ignominious death and eventual disconnection which I included in my support post. You can see there is also a party member with me who can vouch for my presence. But nope, I do not qualify apparently.

The whole affair has left a bad taste in my mouth after having played and loved GW1 for over 7 years.

I’m from FoW EU. I was there for event, I still have nothing, mailbox at 3/10. How long should we wait before sending a support ticket?

I don’t think they thought it was a failure but they obviously wanted to try and capture a larger market this time around and innovation is not a bad thing.

However, i think they could have stayed closer to the original than they did. I preferred many of the features as they were implemented in GW1 rather than their new incarnations.

GW1 was lacking in many areas such as jumping, swimming and non-instanced maps (even though I really miss vanquishing). It did need an update because of these missing features present in other games.

I did like in GW1 you didn’t need to worry about gear as much as you do in GW2 but it is really not they thing I miss the most about it. For me, it is the skill system in the first game (including multiple professions, large skill pool and skill capping from named bosses).

In the end, this is the game we have and I do enjoy it and will continue to play it but in the end would have rather have 5 years of expansions to GW1.

Hear, hear! Although I don’t think I could play another 7 years of GW1 after having played GW2. I do miss the things from GW1 you mentioned.

Yep, just got DC as the webbing was being destroyed off the charges. Gutted, but appreciated the event overall.

I know its an odd problem and I am pretty sure it is not my mouse, because I only notice it in GW, but is there an issue with left clicking? Left clicking in general just won’t work sometimes. Usually when dragging a window/item or using the left click to rotate my camera. It eventually works after a few seconds.

When the first few of us trickled into Orr in the first week (or thereabouts) I remember having fun. It was clear to us that to get anywhere we were all going to have to work together and we did. After hanging around a while we began to see players coming in, weren’t grouping together and having problems because of it. We started seeing players moaning on map chat that it was too hard because they weren’t grouping up. I think thats just a side effect of more and more players coming into Orr.

I agree, the stuck events are exacerbating the problem by fueling player’s doubts that everything must be a bug.

My opinion is that newer players to Orr should have some kind of clearer tutorial on how to deal with Orr. Far too many of them are soloing and not getting anywhere. Solo players like the Original Poster are going to have a hard time, the region basically punishes you for it.

Are there any known issues with items going missing in the mail? I have a friend who swears she sent me a Flame Cleaver at around 2010 hrs GMT today – I received the mail but no item was attached. Shes checked her inventory and she hadn’t sold it…

Not sure if this is linked to the same problem but right after killing the Orrian scout, the objective reverted back to “investigate the area beneath the broken grate”…and thus we were unable to find a conclusion to the quest.
