Reported to me on the Halloween Event

I have been attempting to build up a presence in GW and GW2 in my guild. I played GW from beginning to end and spent hundreds of dollars on the first game. (OK, it was mostly for mule characters because there was never enough storage.) So, to grease the skids I have been, well, strongly suggesting people buy and try GW and frankly pushing GW2. I even bought some keys to get people started in the game.

I know there will be people who disagree with the opinion of my guild members who are playing GW2. Great! ANet has you for support. I am dealing with the expansion of that support among those that are not yet so enthusiastic.

So, what is the first report I get concerning the Halloween Event? That it is a grind fest and not worth the effort. That one has to obtain a thousand bits to make a bite – and unless you do this several times there is nothing interesting for which these trinkets will trade.

I will never understand why grinding for points somehow confers status as if this makes one a better person, which is (IMO) the only way to be a better player. I will never understand why dev.s think grind equals enjoyment. The race may not be to the swift, but in a world where it is an hour commute to and from work/school, 9 hours at the job (including breaks), 6-8 hours of sleep, time for hygiene and meals, dishes, dusting, sweeping and vacuuming, mowing, cleaning the gutters, weeding, checking/doing homework, HS sports, or even just maybe some quality family time … entertainment is the sitcom not days of grind fest.

It is just an idea, but perhaps video games would seem less of a social negative if they weren’t setting up accomplishments that can only be achieved through a massive devotion of time for grinding. The goal should be ‘Busking’ – to entertain a targeted audience such that they donate what they can during those minutes between the things they have to do.

(Option) buying the game or one of the other options.

These options do not exist on my screen.

Since all six of their options (Refunds, Game Versions and Digital Items, Upgrading Your Account, Gem Cards and Codes, Taxes, and Strategy Guide) have nothing to do with making initial purchases of the game it appears there is no section of support that is designated to deal with this either. It is my opinion that limiting accessibility to pre-formatted scenarios by design ensures improvements have no place to be suggested outside of places like here at the forum. Never answering the phone is also a barrier to communication – it does not however keep me from dialing.

However, since the phone message indicates I should play message tag in the forums, here I am.

I was in the process of purchasing the game as gifts and refused after the second purchase. I made two purchases successfully, but was denied a third purchase. Something that would prevent this is having the ability to edit the quantity during purchase.

I called my bank at first, figuring their fraud prevention had stopped the repetitive purchases, however while on the phone with card service department I made the attempt again. The blockage was not at their end. The only conclusion I can make is that the store is programmed to refuse sales. Since I have the money in my account to make this purchase, I am confused as to the reason I am being denied an early Christmas present for a friend.

Maybe its time for an Anet survey ?

We already had many surveys and white knights told us that forum community is minority, happy people play game/upset sit on forums and bla bla bla.

Which is probably why when I play I play GW: Prophecies through Eye of the North and have never gone past about 30th level in GW2.

Like somebody before said people very often demend really difficult content which requires much time to develop . But Anet can give us really a lot of recycled content.

Like, flexible skill bars so we can assign our skills in the order that suits us – as it was in GW1.

In game survey is great idea we will see how many people want new map like dry tops, how many people want new dung and how many people want new pvp map . But there is one problem , people would see survey and they will demend content and right now anet is just sitting and doing nothing without any responsibility .

I’m still waiting for the completion of the Palawa Joko story that was written up in the magazine where I got my Destroyer minipet, rofl.

Static Keyboard

I recently had a discussion with one of my guildees who has been playing GW2 a lot. I continue to go back to GW1, and I find my main reason for doing so is the static skill bar. Not being able to set my skills where I want to use them still discourages me from playing the game. Don’t get me wrong GW2 has a great deal that are improvements over what was available in GW1 – and I like those changes in movement, trade, etc. I like the open world interaction as well, although I miss vanquishing – which I was doing long before there was a hard mode. However, not being able to rearrange my skill bar just irks me. Now my guildee blames this on my being ‘Old’ and “creative” and says that young people don’t want to think or be creative. According to my guildee the skill bar is static so that people can’t accidently hit the wrong skill because they moved it? What keeps one from hitting the wrong skill because they hit the wrong skill without moving it?

At any rate, is there a mod or anything that would change this one aspect of GW2 that makes it undesirable for me to play? In every game I play, I place my skills in order from center out – near my index fingers for skills to be activated first. The skills on the right side of the bar I usually activate with a mouse, so that is not as critical, but the ones I activate by hand are all in the wrong place for me. Is there something that would allow me to say reverse the order of the weapon skills in the first 5 slots?

I occasionally gift a game when I want to get someone started in it. For instance, I recently got someone started on GW through Steam. However, when we finish GWEN, I will not be able to gift out GW2 because it is not available through Steam. Is there any chance that ‘gifting’ could be developed so that I can purchase a DL for someone other than myself? Currently I do not see this available and have three people I would like to get started on GW2 sometime in the next 6 months or so.

68483 – In queue for continued review.

I have found some order information concerning my original copies of the game and the pre-sale. I have sent the billing address and the last four digits of the (no longer valid) CC used to make that purchase. I have no way of knowing if this is the CC information you want. I have had other CCs over the years and the bank could not provide me with any information that old.

My first email dealing with this on this account was August 13. I have been attempting to get my secondary account active again for a few months. The access to change things on the launcher didn’t work. Attempts to contact through the website for GW gave me a run around of links. Finally, I got some help in here on attempting to contact customer service, which no longer answers a phone even. I received a request for information and filled it out with everything I could. I gave my name, the address I had at the time I created the account, the email it was created on, the email to which it should have been transferred because the original is no longer in service, the corporate changes from a Sprint ISP through to the current Centurytell ISP, my birth date both in standard format and the way I usually enter it, as well as my six original key codes used on my two accounts and a bonus key code which is what I have in hard copy after eight and a half years. I have no idea what credit card I used to purchase those with, as those cards are no longer valid and have been replaced as their expiration dates passed. Further, I have one copy of a Game Stop receipt for Nightfall, but it doesn’t contain CC information. I listed characters on the account and even gave the estimated birth dates of the characters. Knowing full well that I cannot ever access a no longer in service email account, correspondence to reset the password has been apparently sent to that account. It certainly looks like either no one is reading my correspondence or steps are being deliberately taken to prevent me from accessing my secondary account.

20140821 As of today, Now I am receiving emails to my secondary email address to change the password on my primary account. Again, " It certainly looks like either no one is reading my correspondence or steps are being deliberately taken to prevent me from accessing my secondary account."

20140821 1330 I have received an email in my primary account noting that the secondary email address has been updated to the current account. I attempted to use the launcher to reset my password on the account after it refused to take the passwords I remember using. The reset link does not follow the list of actions shown at the website and send an email to reset the password on that account.

20140822 0925 For Gaile Gray: The ticket numbers so far have been 68268 and 68483. The first was apparently dismissed because I sent information in as an email, since the form won’t take all the details.

I have received an email back which states:

????? (Guild Wars Player Support)

Hello,
Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars Support Team with your request for account assistance.
Before we can look into your request, we require that you contact us through the Guild Wars Support Interface. We are unable to help you with a request filed through any other means.
To access our support interface, please go to the following link: https://guildwars.zendesk.com/anonymous_requests/new . Once you have opened that page, select “Account Issue” from the drop-down menu and fill in as much of the information on the form as you are able to provide. An agent will reply to your ticket as soon as they are able to do so.
Regards,
?????
Guild Wars Support Team

Of course, this is the problem, the form at that link is inadequate and cannot deal with this issue at all because it cannot hold the information required. If I knew what key codes went with which accounts I could put in a specific code, but I do not. If I guess the wrong code then both of my accounts get banned or I at the least lose the use of the working account while trying to get this resolved. I provided all the key codes I have firm copies of, all appropriate email addresses, and listed a character each for each account. Now, I am being required to fill out a form I have attempted to fill out multiple times which cannot be filled out because it is inadequate to the task. So, exactly how is it possible to get customer service to get secondary account active for me again while not screwing up my active primary account?

For one thing, every time I fill in the description and hit send it responds with Specific Issue cannot be blank, and refuses to send it in. Though it is filled out, the page refuses to acknowledge that it is filled out.

When GW came out it lacked enough slots and enough storage for the many options in the game. Over the years I accumulated two accounts and close to three dozen characters playing different classes, maintaining mules for piddly stuff I just couldn’t through away, and having fun. Recently I purchased a Trilogy account for a friend who has never played. I have access to my primary account, which was a hard battle when the account was first linked to GW2. However, my secondary account, is refusing to allow me in. I want to contact GW about this but all of their forms are based on limitations that do not reflect the owner of multiple accounts with multiple keys, who after nine years cannot possibly know which keys go with which account. So, at the moment I sit here with two cases each for Guild Wars: Prophecies, Guild Wars: Factions, and Guild Wars: Nightfall as well as one for Guild Wars: Eye of the North and no way of contacting ANet or NCSoft directly because the forms aren’t set up for someone who spent hundreds of dollars on the games and has multiple accounts and multiple keys and needs one fixed without getting the other hosed. I have been trying for weeks to reset the password, to login to my secondary account, to use the support links, – usually only to be forced fed Outlook Express which I don’t even have installed, never use, and don’t want to use. So, bookmarking this post and hoping someone knows how to get in touch with organic intelligence so this can get worked out.
