Wow this is kinda kittened-up! Their friday night is our thursday night, so they could stay up and own the map all day and make up mad points. Perhaps the holidays will even the field a bit, OR have NA play NA and Oceanic play Oceanic, so there is at least some parity.

They need to give us a commander tag that only guild members can see.

That would further stratify WVW gameplay, not everyone is a part of everyone’s else’s guild. So I would be forced to join DkZ, if I want to follow Diash. So why have a guild with my friends? Maybe a limit on the amount of Commander tags in a map, OR (wait for it . . .) communication so there is less confusion. I think we do that on BP . . .

Personally I don’t think it is population of the servers that is the problem. I think it is the people on the server that WANT to play WVW. On BP we happen to have a great number of people that want to WVW, just like people just want to PVE. I can’t speak for other servers but WVW on BP is accessible and fun for whomever wants to come. Most stay because they have had a good experience, they are helped and have things explained by more experienced players. They are included in groups not shunned by guilds, we at BP don’t treat WVW as an exclusive playground for the big guilds, and if you come in you can’t run with them. Everyone is included in all the fighting, no one is told on chat that they are stupid, or go back to PVE, or to change your spec because you suck, or L2P, ever. We don’t put off people like that, so they come back, again and again, then they Re hooked and they tell their guild mates and friends. I am one of them. I hated PVP but I was bored one day and jumped to wvw. I was discouraged and didn’t know what was gong on. Luckily I saw in chat, everyone form up in Diasharo, and I just followed and had a good time, still didn’t know what to do, but it was fun. No one called me a noob and I clearly was one.

So that’s why I think we have numbers, because the people on BP want to play. do people on your server want to play with you? If they did am sure you would not have problems fielding enough to match up with anyone. Remember it’s a max of 160 per side per map. Not a kitten load. So before you start crying about population, look at yourselves and how you treat your server mates, because that is probably the case.

Seriously? This is a GAME! Who are we to diminish anyones play or play-style? If someone wants to post what is fun for them and it is not exploitive or mean spirited, why the kitten not?

If you feel that your negative comments somehow effect his self-esteem or if it makes you feel better as a person, then maybe gaming isnt for you.

I play on the same server as Wild Bil, and I have had the honor of seeing him in action, in and out of a Zerg. I have been on early Sun mornings in BPBL and Wild is just hanging out by himself defending supply points and calling in enemy movements! My punk kitten was with the zerg, cause thats how I roll. I have since branched out and started roaming solo and have had success in surviving. I like his vids because it shows me how a thief can be viable, not all this tripe on the forums how we are broken.

So kudos to Wild, keep it up!

As a member of BP, and I run quite frequently with Daish, AND I am an extremely brittle thief (cant make up my mind about S/D or D/D), I will confess I do miss the AR matchup. Not to diminish HOD or SF efforts! AR is like an old GF you still like, and don’t mind rollin around with, its just . . . fun!

You are amazing, those numbers are crazy, looks like I pay to conservitily on my thief and geared into a bit more vitality and use scholarX5 and Soldier X1 for survivability. I just really started using my bow last night and it is great, was closing with steal and SS but bow makes them mad and then they rush ya, which is great they close on me! I am going to try your spec, but keeping my runes, they cost to much! I am a S/D thief, but I have 2 daggers which I switch to, this weekend I am going to go D/D and SB and see how I do. Omnon Ghosts? I will give those a try, I have been using the Omnom Loaf for Vit and Toughness.

Fights wee awesome last night, looked like GOM and AR brought their whole server out to play! We were taking Mendon and we had 2 walls down, but a group of AR about 10, held us off for 15 minutes with the walls down, we finally overcame them, it was great it wasnt a rollover! Thanks AR!

I guess I need to have more patience. As for runners most always run in straight line! It’s lovely for Backstabs when you pull them in!

I know it’s a silly trait but in the right situations it is great. I only use in wvw, in a roaming group, snagging those pesky defenders that decide to rum and my steal or shadow step are on CD, this is great fun! Was doing a wvw capping group this morning, and sieging a keep and the opposing side kept trying to sneak in the keep, I just stood off to the side a bit, and snagged them back and had my way with them! Not a staple but a good utility to use in certain situations.. I wish I could pull people off of walls with it though!

Bottom line: someone has to win and someone has to lose, if people want to be whiners because they lost, it is their prerogative. When we move up and if we get crushed, I am sure we won’t whine and rage-quit. We will stay on it, because its the only way we can get better. I have played since launch and wvw for about 4 weeks, other than the first week when I didn’t know what the hell was going on, I was there through the stomping. We are much better organized thanks to the alliance, with clear objectives. Do we have some db commanders? Yeah! There is one with a huge hard on for the GOM, keep in EB. Many of us know what needs to be done, and if a call pops up in chat we usually get support. For the most part our roaming groups are self sufficient, we have successfully defended out keeps without commanders and as little as 5 players with some siege. We also contribute to upgrades, it is silly that we should expect the alliance to pay for them, I have heard justice and diash comment that they have received many donations. All in all, we are getting more organized, something I think we need to compete in a higher tier, so if you feel that is having more people than that’s your view. IMHO it is BP getting organized.

What is the percentage of the player base that spends the majority of their game time in SPVP? From reading these forums today it looks like the ones most butthurt are the SPVP/Pvp players.

Dancing daggers to me was just a snare, if I got a instakill that much better I never counted on that damage. I do play S/D. And after patch I was doing similar numbers. In wvw opposed to prepatch.

Is there a SPVP or Pvp forum? I think all those issues should be there instead of in the general, you may be confusing people.

Great freaking idea, however I don’t want to move servers, so if it is ok with you all, I would like to try to form a Thieves only guild on Borliss Pass, modeled exactly like yours. Yeah we are ranked 21 out of 25 servers! So if this happened we can push ourselves up in the rankings a bit!. PM Flayfirst if you are interested and are on Borliss Pass server. TS is available

Saw on the forums that there was a Theives only guild forming on magma server, since I don’t want to leave Borliss, I thought we should make a Theives only guild on Borliss to make a go of it in wvw when we don’t play the servers that suck more than us, perhaps we can push our server up in the rankings. There is a thread in the Theives forum, I would like to model this one after theirs. PM flayfirst if there is a guild, or if you are interested in forming a guild. This would be a secondary guild not your main guild, for glory if you will. TS server is available. Looking forward to getting all of us disenfranchised thieves together and kicking some butt!,,

Sadly I am going to shelve my thief also, my Ranger simply out damages, out survives, and has more utility right now. Even with the Ranger nerfs, it still out-performs my thief in WvW and PVE. I have tried every build, most of the gear setups and weapon sets, even made myself 5 exotic weeps (D,D,P,P S) to no avail. Yeah I can kill stuff, rather quickly, but I can’t survive if there are more than 3 mobs (PVE), or if my zerg leaves my kitten hanging out there, slim chance of me getting back to group with thief. Until the survivability is changed/fixed, I will only bring out my thief, for situational reasons in Dungeons orWvW.

I will keep on this and other thief forums for the changes.
