Reading this forum when we are so closely matched is great! I cannot find enough time to join, but reading this thread is like a great epic story from start to finish (sans a few whines and hax).
SBI has had its ups and its downs. It is one of the few T1 servers to consistently stay T1 (minus that wake-up call in T2). We are consistently strong, and that is why we stay where we are. We have incredible guilds and great commanders. We have leadership and strategy. We have coverage. We recently acquired some guilds from overseas and it seems to have fully balanced our coverage.
BG, when we all play nicely it is great fun playing when I can get the time. JQ, our constant nemesis, it has been enjoyable and you always find ways to hurt us!
Keep the epic fights epic!
What an awesome match! Another SBI faithful checking in.
And great job cleaning up the thread folks! It is clear even T1 servers hack, and every single server has had a hacker so that should be left at that. Lets keep our thread clean, report any hackers to their guild/server and ANet, and lets have some good old heart to heart in here.
Amazing fights! Everything does seem so evenly matched. To explain a few things:
JQ: Still has a massive queue, cannot explain why it seemed to have dropped this past weekend. It appears some folks got tired of the 24/7 queue process and transferred off. That would be my only explanation. That, or we have the group of bandwagoners moving to either SBI or IoJ as they see JQ putting up a fight but not clearly dominating like they did last weekend.
IoJ: You guys have really and truly become something different. In T2 it was a utter slaughter. Somehow (I have no idea, but keep doing it!) you guys transformed yourselves into a well oiled well organized machine and it shows. You guys are T1 material for sure, going to give any server a run for their money. Keep up the great work!
SBI: To explain, we did gain some people. Not sure from where, but our coverage has been outstanding. All of that and still no queue. Every server seems to have leveled out and improved some as of late.
Lets keep the good times rolling!
Server transfers are hurting our server community (Jade Quarry - LONG)

This post is nothing more than a single person whining and complaining about a rather mundane point.
JQ recruited Xfers a few weeks ago. CD decided to move the core WvW guild population to JQ to “even things out.” After that, JQ started climbing up the ladder with a now more robust off hours crew.
JQ became such a threat, that upon the folding of TA, a decently sized chunk of old Henge players moved to JQ in an effort to continue the winning bids. Sure enough, now that JQ is fat and bloated, JQ is complaining over their queue.
I am sorry JQ, you may not have your every whim responded to and answered by ANet or any others. You asked for what you now have, and as such it should come as no surprise. If you dislike it, please consider transferring to another server. But please do not blame ANet for this inevitable result.
Lastly, I find it funny you state you’re number 1 yet this fact occurred on the heels of CD moving their core guilds to your server. Ungrateful much?
2.5 hours on JQ, up from 45 minutes the previous weekend.
Crystal Desert has stated that several WvWvW guilds left for JQ. That, and you guys unseated the long time number 2. That would make JQ a very popular transfer destination, and that isn’t including the likely espionage that is occurring.
Played a solid 5 hour block in the IoJ borderlands (nothing personal, just where I randomly queued). Coming from an SBI perspective. Awesome battles, good fun was had by all. It was fun seeing our zerg, vs BG zerg, vs IoJ. Couple times there felt like AH might fall (nicely done IoJ).
And sadly, exploiting and hacking will happen regardless of the tier. Hell, even Henge in the opening few matches (post launch) exploited. If tier 1 can exploit, any tier can. Please do not blame an entire server for the inappropriate actions of the few. Let us keep this fight honest and fun for everyone.
The goal was not to demoralize BG. People must understand that in PvP, it is often the path of least resistance (or most in tier 1) that servers choose to pursue. Sometimes its SBI, sometimes its BG. It just depends on the crew online at that moment, and the siege and/or ability to defend against incoming zergs.
Lets keep things clean and above the belt. Have fun!

On last look, JQ and HoD fighting over SBI turf.
One question, those of you from JQ, would you knowingly attack SBI moreso than HoD (NOT an alliance) to attempt to displace the easier of the two targets?
Very interesting results if in fact CD guilds left for JQ. This shall make the inevitable matchups even more interesting to see. It is clear JQ has bolstered its off-hours presence, but did not know the exact reasoning as to why.
And indeed enough bickering amongst the servers. Enjoy yourselves in WvW and stop taking the time out of your day to demean a friendly competitor.
Being an extremely casual player from SBI, I find the comments accusing our server of giving up to be of terrible taste and absolutely useless for this discussion. Please, can we keep this discussion on the match at hand and all aspects related to it. There is no need for name calling or baseless accusations.
Onto my thoughts on the matter. To answer a question that seemingly comes up again and again; no our server has not given up. I have been watching and listening to our server nearly daily to attempt to keep up with the recent news. Our PVP crew is still always on there, we are attempting to the best of our ability to fight with what we have. Pure and simple, we are outmanned. Its a matter of simple grade school algebra, one number is greater than the others.
Before I am called out for lying, please note that at least every night so far our crew has been receiving the Outmanned buff, which lends evidence to us being outnumbered. Will this necessarily result in us losing a footing? Perhaps, perhaps not. What it will do is ensure any sort of counter attack, any sort of siege, any sort of response at all is either easily countered or easily defended.
Once again, please note I am not picking on any server this is purely my rationale behind recent events and does not represent my servers global opinion. JQ and HoD are extremely skilled, as are the folks on SBI. We are all incredibly talented, and excel at what we do. We are, yes all three of us, top tier WvW servers no matter the score at the end of the week. Skill is not of concern, however, for to win WvW there must be an element of strategy as well.
HoD clearly has one of the best strategies in the game. As evidenced by their continual dominance of 1st place. Yes, HoD does indeed become an unstoppable force during off-peak NA hours, and yes JQ does assemble an impressive response when necessary. Yes, HoD takes advantage of the server reset and subsequent removal of siege equipment, and SBI has zero reason to complain as this phenomenon is not isolated to SBI and SBI only. It is a valid, and clearly effective, strategy and one all servers must learn to cope with.
The last point is probably the most important point. It seems, although we have a presence at all times, that SBI is exhausted. We are tired of squaring off against undoubtedly the most outstanding WvW server (and alliance) in the game. It is this point that many opposite of us see has cowardice and fear. Do not be disillusioned into believing SBI is anything as such. We are tired of giving so much to our server, and seeing it all go to waste within a single night. Though HoD may be the server committing the massive nightly undertakings, I feel it is most of all a design flaw.
Why a design flaw, you ask? Because put simply, it is not fun. It is no longer fun to enter the EB to see your work and efforts literally have gone in vain. It is no longer fun to organize, to perform, to excel in our 24 hour battles. This lack of entertainment literally strikes to the core of GW2. If you stop having fun, doing anything you do in life, why would you continue to do it? This point sadly leads to drops in population, drops in camaraderie, and drops in standings. Numerous games have attempted the 24 hour realm vs realm, and numerous games have had to make changes at the risk of losing large amounts of players to this fact.
In closing, I appreciate everyone for (mostly) keeping to a civilized and articulate discussion about an impressive match. Nothing but the absolute and utmost respect for HoD, JQ, and SBI. All three servers have shown they are capable of amazing feats, and I can only hope all three servers continue to prosper. Thank you for the epic match, and we look forward to meeting you all again in the near future.
