So it appears that the guild banners are no longer persistent. Once the character that places them leaves the map, the banner is removed from the map also. I have tested this in WvW in both the Citadel and the Obsidian Sanctum as well as the Guild Hall ( 2 players in the hall to keep instance open while one character swaps). This really needs to get resolved soon, please.
Actually, it’s the opposite. Have everyone leave the guild hall instance. This is how we ‘fixed’ ours when this happened to us. When you re-enter you should find the mine again.
edit: spelling is hard ^^
We will see if Bg has been propped up by Jq now won’t we. They lost too many to Yb to be beating Jq with their blobs and the double team against Tc was only natural. They will see how tough Tier 2 is going to be after reset. Because we all know that Bg has their A game on at the moment but it’s a long week.
lmao
or maybe wvw on BG isn’t as toxic as it used to be before those people left and more of us are playing in wvw now and having fun with a 35 person blob rolling through TC and JQ blobs ^^
I have not seen this addressed specifically so I just want to put out there something else that may need attention. Upon my attempts at the Tendril Torching Adventure I realized that it is not really going to be that easy to get a “gold” result. Looking at the current rank, no person has been able to achieve gold yet. For me this begs the questions, will our Total Mastery Points earned require us to get gold in every adventure in order to be able to eventually obtain every mastery available? I see two different scenarios playing out here currently:
1) Yes. I really do not like this scenario. For people with latency and/or hardware issues, physical disablities, etc this seems to me a probable certainty of frustration. I see a few alternatives to remedy this, such as giving the two mastery points for bronze and silver, but I don’t know if that is up for consideration. I may end up with a few mastery lines full of experience I can never complete.
2) No. I expect it’s obvious this is the answer I am hoping for. However, what concerns me about it is the reward for the people who do get the gold result. What is the payoff for an extra mastery point that you really don’t need, aside from the “bragging rights” of having your name on the board. Shouldn’t they get like 25K experience in a shaky chest that they can apply to either a Heart of Maguma OR Pact Tyria mastery tract? Value can be adjusted for what would be considered fair for such an achievement, of course. I suggest the shaky chest but there may be other containers that would work too, which can be “carried” to either location to open.
Anyways, I really like what I have seen thus far. The Revenant seems a bit unpowered compared to playing a Mesmer in Verdant Brink. I managed to have an ascended set of zerk armor in my storage for each weight class so both were built as glass cannons. I only used three of the new skills (heal, 1 utility, and elite) on the mesmer so I wasn’t playing with all the chronomancer skills. The gliders are really cool…I second the other peoples suggestions for fixing the other maps later to be able to use them, even if it’s just in the cities to start. Hehehe. Wish we could have had the wyvern fight this time around but hopefully some of that will get sorted for the next beta. Great work!! Thanks!!
As usual, there are a great many people who have posted with great deal of detail and thought. Thus I have only some rather random thoughts and impressions to provide for now.
- Comparing the other two professions that are not allowed weapon swap capabilities: when I play staff elementalist in a dungeon I have Lightning Hammer to use for melee/cleave scenarios. I don’t play engi often but flamethrower seems to well for that type of scenario. Revenant in its current form doesn’t seem to offer that type of flexibility.
- I don’t know that weapon swap is needed if more utility skills are added which provides something akin to a conjured environmental weapon and/or kit options. Conjuring a weapon/kit from the legend being channeled seems like a pretty cool idea to me, at least (imagination running wild and will stop with that for now ^^). The presence of the Change Skills arrow offers some hope that maybe you have more in store than just 3 dedicated skills for slots 7,8 and 9.
- Another thought for more utility options was to change the F1 swap to a F1-F2-F3 menu where the player can just pick which legend to channel, similar to the elementalist attunements.
- Staff is fun to play as a pole-arm style weapon. Mixing it up with some range capabilities would be nice. Hammer was a bit, to borrow from someone else, “clunky.” I think the mace/axe was my favorite but being stuck in melee doesn’t seem optimal running around Orr.
- With the upcoming changes to defiance, assuming it will still happen, the lack of CC seems a bit disconcerting. The ‘break bar’ (forget if it has an official title/name) appears to be a significant change and having ranged cc skills seems a good idea. There is obviously more to come for the revenant, but I thought it worth a mention here since Jalis was the only legend that offered such a skill, from my cursory fact check.
Other than that, for the time being, thanks for the chance to check it out and allowing us to provide some feedback on it. Everyone at anet is doing fantastic work redefining a genre that needs it so much!! Looking forward to what else you have in the works, keep up the great work.
BETA: Anet, could you please reset my client?

Yes, please!!! I tried putting my zerker ascended gear into storage, deleted the BETA character and made another but my bank is still the same as when I first logged.
Basically, the +4 Basic Infusions aren’t really worth it when you can get the WvW version with a +5 AND the 1% dmg/-1% dmg modifier.
If you run fractals though, you will probably want to start with the the Versatile Infusions. Agony Resistance does not cap at 70 but if you don’t run the underwater fractal then with current reward level cap you don’t get any benefit from having more than 70 AR.
The Fine Infusion will give you the AR and stat bonuses but these are more for fractals given the AR and the cost(s) are prohibitive for most players.
Despite the 3 pages of venting that seem to be going on, I cannot even remember if I have ever been kicked from a LFG group…and I mostly run in LFGs for fractals (even 50s) and dungeons. I know I have quit parties with toxic wanna-be leaders. I have also helped friends/people on occasion in Arah too and have never had an instance ‘stolen.’
What I can tell you is that I remember all too well having to redo fractals when, under the old system, the friend that started the instance DC’d. Since ‘aussie-net’ was pretty unreliable then (not sure about now), I started initiating instances but even I would suffer an occasional DC. That is why I really like the new system the way it is now.
My suggestion is don’t let it put you off, Nadya. Despite the occasional troll there are a LOT of great people in game. Some lessons are tough but focus on the positive. It is a game after all and we should be having fun. ^^
I am curious why you are farming jute really. Other than low level crafting, which doesn’t take much to get beyond the T1, the only other use really is promotion to wool. This is something I am sure people watch since pricing is always adjusting between jute and wool. It sounds you are familiar with the ways of getting it though and the reiteration of the options by the other helpful people isn’t really anything new to you. ^^
.
If you search “bolt” on the TP you will find 9999+ for every single tier of cloth and yet there is only about 1400 Damask for sale. Looking at gw2spidy, bolt of wool listings are in excess of 57K. And this is what is actually listed for sale. People like me who save mats will have more on hand since the price of the market is too low for my opportunity cost. This is not indicative of a supply problem. Just because you don’t like the price doesn’t mean more supply will lesson the cost on your wallet. As long as there are people willing to pay a higher price for the convenience of not having to make it themselves then the price will remain “higher.”

Or if I only want to turn off the new events notification BUT still have personal story? I really don’t need, or want, an orange circle covering up the Capture Point so I can’t see the current status in PVP. How about separating the two choices in the menu, please?
No problem . . . now that the gears are turning the other thing I think that really had impact has backing off the overclocking for the video card. I have an EVGA SC GTX770 4GB that came pre-configured with the overclocking. I never did go back and try to overclock after I got the cooling issue sorted though but it may be something else to check on too. GL
When I got my new rig a few months back, I had similar issues. It took some time to sort it out but I noticed the CPU core temps were extremely high during game play. As it turned out the water cooling unit was not working properly due to some reversed connections on the motherboard. After resolving that and going through an making some game option adjustments based on the Tech Support post (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/FPS-and-Performance-based-issues-1) I can now run highest setting and usually get 70 to 100+ FPS in game. I think I also modified my fan profile to have the fans on the video card run at 100% at 79 C (at work so would have to verify later if you are interested).
