Report trolling

This is kind of another subject since it isn’t trolling, but I do find it rather annoying when somebody uses the bank NPC and then plonks their personal trader on the very same spot. I imagine the same could be done here though, in the sense of placing toys around a vendor and thus making it difficult for players to speak to them.

I wonder if one option might be this: if an object is selected by clicking on it AND its relevant action is available (in other words, the player is close enough to it), then pressing the function key will activate the default action (whether that is opening a chest, a dialogue or using tools). This would mean that so long as the player can click an object then they can activate it.

By the way… so far as players being on the same version is concerned, that is about the build. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m assuming that the content which the launcher is downloading is going to be exactly the same as what is streamed in-game, particularly while exploring undiscovered zones. If a new build is launched then it goes without saying that everybody will need to download it in order to play.

I don’t know off-hand but I think the county libraries charge for laptop connections, and it might be around about £2 per-hour. Pubs or cafés aren’t much good as I imagine the speeds wouldn’t be up to downloading over 3gb in a timely fashion; chances are that I’d be very drunk by the time it’s done.

I realise that the game is going to chomp away at bandwidth which is unavoidable given its scope. I noticed today after doing a lot of exploring that I was hitting around 30mb per-hour. I’m expecting that after all the content has been fully-downloaded that it will be around 10mb per-hour under typical scenarios. Therefore, if somebody were to play the game for 6 hours per-day then we’re looking at anything up to 2gb each month.

In any case, the problem is not how much bandwidth the game generally consumes but rather the launcher automatically downloading content. As already mentioned, a speed of 4mb per-second results in 100mb being downloaded before I’ve managed to get to the character selection screen. There needs to be an option to disable this; it might mean having to stream data more often but at least somebody can control their bandwidth more efficiently.

On the plus-side… as a result of upgrading my phone deal, tomorrow I should be in a position to download the entire content and then I shall completely forget about this ordeal!

That option already was set to on-demand. I appreciate that the game itself will use a fair amount of bandwidth but so far as I’ve been able to gather it could use around half of my 5gb allowance if I were to play it on a daily basis, so it’s sufficient.

The problem is that the launcher is downloading 100mb before I reach the character-selection screen and that is with auto-login enabled. Bear in mind that because the downloads are taking place it takes longer to log-in (at the same time I would also find that the web browser will struggle to load a page), which I can only assume is due to the ISP throttling the connection during heavy downloading, and that is on 4G. This is a mobile phone connection, not land-line; it’s absolutely fine in-game but the downloading really does slow everything else down and that is probably why it takes around 30 seconds to eventually log-in.

Now, I’ve since upgraded my account which doubles my bandwidth to 10gb but this won’t take effect until the end of the month. At least then I’ll be able to download all the data and should still have enough remaining bandwidth until the New Year.

Honestly though, I really do feel that the launcher needs an option to pause the downloads because I very much doubt that I am the only person experiencing this problem.

Oh, and telling somebody not to go to the swamps for the Behemoth is like telling a child not to eat sugary things! Hehe.

Okay, so I can sometimes, but not always, get into the game by dropping my phone down to 2G mode. This means that by the time I have logged-in I have downloaded maybe around 5mb of data. This isn’t exactly a solution because it takes anything up to ten minutes to actually get in-game and I’d also have to put the phone back to 4G otherwise I’d frequently lose connection. Once all those 18,000 files have been downloaded this shouldn’t be a big problem but right now it is a royal pain in the rear-end!

Hello there.

I have just moved house into the city centre and I’m now in a 4G area. Previously the launch screen was downloading data at around 300kb/s but that is now generally 10-times higher. I am limited to 5gb of data per-month and suffice to say that the downloads will eat my data very, very quickly.

I had already used around 85% of my bandwidth for this month just by installing the game. I have just purchased 100mb of data for £1.99 as the customer services are closed at the moment, but I shall be able to add a proper bundle in a short while. The problem I have here is that the launcher is downloading 100mb before I have even logged-in!

What I need is to be able to prevent the launcher from automatically downloading data (obviously I’d have to download new builds as and when released). If I cannot do this then I cannot play the game.

Kind Regards.
