Tuesday patch day.
Does that help’?
I remember the first time I missed a living story event…..coming back and people accusing me of being lazy….telling me thats what i get, those who dont play, get nothing..
Know what I was doing?
This is Anet’s fault? People accusing you of being lazy and you feeling affected by that is not something Anet is responsible for.
Or they could just do as every f-ing other game, and give the players a list of overflows, and the ability to pick the one to go to. No need for taxi parties or any of those over-convoluted workarounds…
Then EVERYBODY would pick the populated overflow in order to ‘get things done’ effectively solving nothing.
No one, even guild groups, would pick a channel that has 10 people when you want to get the most out of your participation. Dont even kid yourself.

I did LA inbetween other ingame activities and STILL got every achievement and my selfless potion.
As mentioned earlier, Anet can never win; please one, disappoint another.
I’d certainly love to see a 3-week rotation. That gives me time to hit content at a good pace, and then I can go back to achieving other goals, like Ascended gear or dungeon/fractal diving. As it is, right now, my 1-to-3 hours of play time per day goes to finishing dailies and trying to get one shot at LS content.
Just one extra week of breathing room would do wonders.
You are aware, everything is choice right?
Skip a daily, get more time. Don’t ask Anet to cater to your needs when 2 weeks is more than enough.
The pace is perfect.

The sooner I can forget Scarlet existed, the better.
Good riddance.
I never really got the dislike towards her personally.
On the surface she may seem uninteresting to some (and ofcourse, this is merely my POV) but there are so many cool things that came with her storyline.
Short stories, little comments she made that created speculation on future patches and such.
I don’t know, LS gets alot of hate on the forums, but it really isn’t that bad.
That’s a rather difficult answer to give to a seemingly simple question.
This is as close of an answer that you’re gonna get:
Damage done = (weapon strength) x Power x (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)

Some answers Anet?
Give your playerbase some support please with this.
hey there,
I’ve had so many dc’s today it’s ridiculous.
Everything else works fine: my internet is fine, my TS works fine, i can detect no issues elsewhere at all.
Then I get massive delays in skills all of a sudden, sometimes up to 2 seconds easily and at certain times it just kicks me out with Code=7:11:3:191:101.
A few of my DC’s had 14:4:5:1186:101.
I am at a loss, I’ve – once again – never had any problems.
Now suddenly today, it’s close to unplayable.
Help!
Same, it started happening to me today.
I’ve had countless disconnects so far, all with this code.
Internet is fine, i ran checks all over and it’s not the problem.
Even low activity zones crash.
Playing from Desolation here, player from the Netherlands.
A response would be appreciated since it is getting truly aggravating.
Dear arenanet, the amount of lag and dc’s your game causes today is absolutely intolerable.
Never had any problems in the past, but now it is actually so bad it’s close to unplayable.
it’s not my network, everything works fine, pings fine.
Even your website has issues loading (takes way longer than any other page) but that may be because many people want to voice themselves concerning the state of the stability today.
I cant say I agree with a portion of class feedback provided here.
- Mesmer levelling was a joy to me, but that’s obviously just personal opinion.
- Ele low tier in pvp? What? That’s an opinion, not a fact.
Ele’s are quite scary if handled properly and can be a down right kitten to kill.
Key to playing mesmer well is learning your skill combo’s and getting familiar with your attunement CD’s and swapping to the right one at the right time.
nail that and you’ll be incredibly hard to kill while being a serious threat to whomever faces you.
- Necro’s in WvW, I love it. Quite tanky if setup decently and make no mistake: 1v1 and 1v2 they are more than capable to hold their own. Again, depends on how you play.
All three classes are interesting, fun and engaging in their own way. i wouldn’t necessarily rate one above the other in wvw, i’d call them different at best.
Hey there thanks for the feedback i guess my problem with using ele is staying alive maybe i need to learn dodging good enough :p
dodging, the range on your abilities and when to swap to attunements.
Ele is a difficult class to play and can feel really squishy early on in a new player’s hands.
If you can overcome that and ‘connect’ to your ele, you sir have got a true powerhouse under your fingertips.
Plenty of classes are easy to do okay with, but if you ask me, the playerskill difference is detected most in those that chose Mesmer and Ele.

One would assume you did based on the thread’s title!
I didn’t use any cultural though o.0
Looks nice and it’s Asura – always good!
I do get a bit of a Ele vibe tho, but I guess thats due to the fiery stuff happenings.
My necro, I just love these looks:
Well GW2 was supposed to be the MMORPG that broke the chains, changed the rules and shifted paradigm of the MMORPG genre.
To quote Steve Jobs “You can’t look at the competition and say we’re going to
do it better. You’ve got to say we’re going to do it different.”That should have been the mantra that Anet lived by.
Isn’t that exactly what they did on many levels?
This patch is out for a few and already there’s threads with complaints.
And threads with complaints about complaints.
The ironic recursion, it burns!
The essence of this thread is ‘chill out guys, give it a few’.
That’s not a complaint, its a suggestion or request.
This patch is out for a few and already there’s threads with complaints.
Can we wait a few days and see if this evolves to a more controlled situation before complaining?
Like perhaps events that will take place AFTER this nukefest on LA is over?
I have a feeling that this will be a few days and be followed up by more controlled situations.
>5000 = competent
>7000 = experienced
<1500 = new but can do well if you teach
2000-3500 = the worst players. They will ignore advice because they think they know better, give you attitude problems when you teach the new guys and yet, they’re not good as they have been carried by other players all the time. They also insist on using exploits or tactics they saw other teams which carried them use, even if the exploit is irrelevant due to a different party composition. Particularly the entrance stack tactic to deal with the 3 golem champions in the absence of an elementalist in SEp1 – it’s a surefire sign of a bad player. There are exceptions, this is just the norm.
Lastly, be on the lookout if you see 4 players with 2000-3500 AP in the same guild. That kind of party composition has never failed to give the worst performance you can imagine in the game, join those only if you want to master the art of carrying 4 dead people who will abuse you for not using full zerk, even if you DO use full zerk.
PuGs are a mixed bag. The best runs I’ve ever had were with PuGs, the worst runs I’ve ever had are with other guilds, but the most frequent bad runs are also with PuGs.
I dont think Ive read a more generalizing, horse kitten statement today.
Thanks will try that. Btw is it tue that engi is one of the harder classes to play?
Welcome to GW2!
Engineer is a diverse class, with many options and many kits.
it’s also one of the most entertaining (to me) because of this.
Learning how to use all your stuffs properly and when can take a little longer to get the hang off – diversity comes with a added investment
Dont give up on your engi though even thogh it may seem overwhelming at first!
If you get the hang of him, you can take on pretty much anything/anyone (bar certain bosses ofc)

Hello everyone,
I’m a returning player, been here for two weeks now, and had a years break.
My initial days back then consisted of a fair amount of pvp with little pve.
Upon my return I scrapped my chars and started from scratch (which I do not regret btw, think my highest was a 35 engineer).
Now that I’m back I really wanna do more pve related things, explore the world and it’s background while still partaking in wvw in a active guild environment.
Most importantly, a relaxed environment where all content is done is a pleasant fashion.
This being a healthy mix of pve and wvw.
spvp is a fun addition but i don’t necessarily ask that from a guild.
I am alright with 100% representation IF you really have that mix.
Who am i?
Enthused, excited, and starting to dig the lore more and more.
Can be talkative so there’s a heads up.
I’d love to do guild events but also my tidbits of solo play.
Middle aged, zero stress mentality.
Currently playing a ranger, in her early 30s and I have a engineer mid 20s.
Looking forward to any options!
Funks
Roger that. I think i will scrap my char and restart – after a year’s break starting over really isn’t a problem for me.
I still have all stuff in my collectibles, PvP locker and such.
My very very final question – WvW, how is that nowadays? do low levels still have a place?
So to summarize the thread; there is plenty of activity.
Although not immediately apparent due to events, new content (living story) and the sizable maps i will surely run into some people around my level to do the events with and enjoy the MMO aspect (with my friend in the nearby future as well ofcourse)
Server transfer costs me, unless i delete all chars and pick a new one (I do retain w/e is in my bank – right?)
So all in all, all i need to do is just play, i’ll for certain run into the packed areas and if that doesnt happen in the lower levels, getting levelled up will definately fix this.
Is that a proper summary?
I dont’ even know why you want to group with people doing map completion. You can level up to 30+ and do dungeon if you really want to play with people that much.
Where did I once say I wanted to group for map completion?
I’d simply enjoy to play an MMO with other people.
If I had no intentions to play with other people I’d be doing single player games.
Makes sense right?
Seriously. I appreciate all the kind advice i’ve been given but if you havent even read my posts properly enough to know what i’m actually asking, either read those posts or dont reply.
Thank you.
people are just lvl80. Tell me how many people are still low level after a year unless it’s an alt.
Seriously. this has been covered in previous posts.
O thats alright, I didnt take it badly
I merely shared how I’ve experienced other games, and how i felt almost sad when I look back at the kickstart of GW2 – but all in all i am happy that activity is still very much there.
Question about server swaps tho: can i make a new character on a different server or does that require payment? (at work so cant check in game)
Thank you all for the replies, most insightful.
I do want to add this though:
seriously what did you expect. Everyone to sit around in zone one for a year.
I don’t consider this such a strong argument.
There’s so many games out there, ages older than GW2 that at least have some people in the starter zones (after the first boss thingy).
I was by myself completely and was surprised based on experiences from other, older games.
But I’ll postpone telling my friend to buy the game until i’ve played a few more times to see what timeframes and/or servers are more active (i will follow the tips given by all of you) and I’ve found a place we can start in together.
I played this game the day it was released.
People where everywhere, events popped up all over the place. I took a break after investing alot of time in it and yesterday i reinstalled and logged in again, with a new character.
I was shocked, on my server Gandara, for both Sylvari and human it seemed i was the only one in the first zone.
There was chat going on and people in the city, but no one in the actual playfields?
Whats going on?
I was about to get my friend to buy this game since it is amazing.
But with no people in the beginner areas (and probably further along the way) the things that made GW2 so awesome (all the events and such) will be few and far between.
Is it just my server?
Where is everybody?
I want to play again and partake in all the cool stuff, but like this?
Halp!
Hey there forum readers/posters,
The name’s Funkybacon, playing on the Gandara server.
The game’s great, playing since launch, however, by myself and that needs to change.
Who am i?
A player that plays often, whenever I can, and doing everything I can: PvE/sPvP and WvWvW.
Playing 3 Asura characters, ranging between 10 and 22 (what can i say, im easily distracted by all the game world has to offer), namely a Mesmer, Ranger and Thief.
Middle aged, dutch and looking for a group that loves to banter, do group stuff together while utilizing comms.
Im definately looking for a guild that does slightly more organised WvW, instead of jumping on the zergwagon, albeit very fun at times.
If you’re a guild like that, and you’ve got a spot free, i’d love to have a chat ingame and join your merry band of dudes and dudettes.
Funky
It’ll be fixed shortly. There’s just alot of traffic with people logging in i assume so the servers cant handle the load.
Its one of the reasons why NCSoft halted digital sales as well for a while (i think digital at least) and why some new servers have been added. So many people wanting in on this pearl of a game at the same time equals the occasional server boom.
But rest assured they’re working on it, it tends to be over pretty quick
Weapon swap/bundles say hi.
You can customize your characters effectiveness so much with traits, weapon sets, skillpoint allocations, jeweling etc.
You have far more than 9 in total, you just have to pick the ones that suit your playstyle best.
Great system, leave it as it is.
That’ll teach you to zerg to 80 wink wink
