I think the issue has been fixed. Whether it was Optimum Online or Anet, I’m online playing GW2 once again and the website works as it should with no delay in loading. Although it was too much of a coincidence that most ppl affected were in NY with Optimum Online as their internet provider.

Yes please fix this issue. I was in WvW and suddenly was disconnected. Tried to log back in but couldn’t. Sometimes I can login, however would be disconnected again in 1 – 2 minutes. Not only the game would have issues but sometimes the guildwars2.com website would take very long to load as well. My net connection is stable. I can stream online movies, visit other website just fine. I only have this issue with guildwars2.com and the game itself. I just came back from a 4 month break and this issue popped up. Would like to get back into the game.

Ok this an update from my previous post. I know some of you still have errors, but I like being through and I do what i say. :p Anyways, the “Dragon’s Reach Part 2 patch” did solve all of my problems.
I can taxi from one map on one server to the same map on another server.
I can do dungeons and fractals.
I can do WvW.
I can switch from one character to the next without logging out completely.
All these can be done without losing connection. Everything works as it should. Thank you Anet and Gaile for keeping us up to date. Thanks to all the people as well who worked their butts off trying to fix this issue. I know some people still have problems and hope it will be resolved for them soon.

I just finished, Dragon’s Reach Part 2 with no disconnection as “yet”. Still have to check dungeons and fractals. So far its looking great. Usually when I move from one server map to another server map I will disconnect. This did not happen for Tequatl, which is a good sign to me Will post updates.
Update 1: CoF dungeon Path 1 and 3 worked fine, in terms of no disconnection. Path 2 had a bug where Maggs was futher away than the usual spot to collect the orbs for the Orocyte bomb. Then when it failed, we ran back but couldn’t interact with Maggs. We left the dungeon. Did all three dungeons of CoF, paths 1, 2, and 3. No disconnection. The update patch seems to be working.
Update 2:
I did additional dungeons AC, CoF, TA and a couple of fractals runs. Everything works fine. No disconnection from game at all. Good job to all that took part in helping resolved this issue. /cheer

All we can do now is suck it up and hope for the best. Basically it will be fixed when its fixed. Tomorrow is Dragon’s Reach Part 2 update, maybe their might be a fix or not, but be prepared for PRIMAL RAGE !! ( loved that game ). If the problem is not fixed after tomorrow’s update, it might set people off because their is new content and problem still persists. So lets hope for the best.
It just boggles my mind why a VPN would work and not my regular ip.
Gamescom2014 *hint*hint*… that’s all I’m saying

I finally decided to use VPN software. To my amazement this got my character moving once again. I am sure the problem will come back because I turned off the VPN. However, I will enable it again if the problem occurs. The VPN software I am using can be located at https://www.okayfreedom.com/ . Simple to use and most of your GW2 stress issues will vanish. At least those that relates to this connection error bug. Once your character is able to log in and move around, I suggest you turn off the VPN because you’re only allowed 500 MB of data activity for the free option.
If modem, router resets, -reapair, etc., does not work for you. Try the VPN option. I think most people should suggest a VPN program which help solves this GW2 connection issue, until Anet can get a 100% working fix.

I read that wrong in your first post, but most likely no refund :p .So you’re basically playing the waiting game like the rest of us until they find a solution. Sorry.
Their latest patch seems to have caused quite a lot of chaos in the game. Not everyone is affected but a significant amount of players. While I do not know if this is related to your problem in any way. It should not be ruled out as well. Since you recently purchased the game, I would try to get a refund if possible at all. Also to check back in these forum to see if the issue(s) has been resolved.
There is a problem where players cannot log into the game for an entire week and it’s really annoying. Some are able to log in but not play for long because a random disconnection and wont be able to log back in for a few hours or a day.

Redirect your DNS to KNOWN good source according to Brother Grimm did help my situation a bit.

This enable my stuck toon to be able to login and move to another map. However, the connection error still continues. People who haven’t tried this method and is stuck in limbo attempting to get on map, should try this tip. Please look at both links if you have no idea what you’re doing. I didn’t know what I was doing, but it’s really simple. Write down your original settings before making any changes or take a picture of it if you’re to lazy to write (cellphone *click*click* or windows snipping tool). This way if it doesn’t help your situation, you can always return to what it was before.
If you’re still stuck, try this as well to login on map:
Aikiko Kuwahari.5362:
Use a handle /clientport 80 in shortcuts “target” path for a bit and got my disconnects sorted out with it.
Ebony Star.2840
Similarly you can try your Guild Wars 2 shortcut and right click it, then choose “Properties.”
In the line that says “Target,” add a space at the end of the target line and then add the following: –prefreset (with the dash)
Your target line then should look something like this:
“C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” –prefreset
Click “Apply” and then “OK.”
All these methods helped me out to be unstuck and able to login. Please remember this does not stop the connection error from occuring again. It will continue as you play.

Well this is sad. Back to having my two most playable characters in limbo land. Can’t do dailies or dungeons again. Tried the reset router, modem, -prefreset, gw2_bak method. My toons are stuck in Kaineng at Fireheart Rise with no where to go.
Patch worked !! Sort of ..

Well I had all the connection issues on multiple toons, and the latest patch from Anet on (08/06/14) did fix my problem. It’s not 100% flawless, but 90% improvement from what it was before. I use to lose connection entering dungeons/ instances or even traveling from map to map. It still happens but within 5 or 10 min, my toon will be back in game, able to enter instances and make my gold once again. Note that within those 5 – 10 min I attempted to enter such instances like two or three times without success. So like I stated before. There are still connection issues but it’s a great improvement from what I had experience before.
I just want people to know that the patch did help some players. Thank you Anet. Hopefully, this problem will be fixed before part 2 of Dragon’s Reach. Imagine people losing connection in the middle of event. Let’s hope for the best.
Go Anet !

Update 1
Well after 12 hours, the problem came back for one of my toons. It’s stuck in Fireheart Rise. Was working decent after patch for a few hours, now its in limbo. Oh well.

Read this thread, it’s a known problem and they’re working on it.

My main are playable once again. Just as a side note, I had connection issues when I was in a party. Anyone had connection issues as a solo roamer ? Just curious.
Update 1
Haha I jinxed myself. Went to HoTM as a solo roamer was fine, zoned back into Lion’s Arch and I d/c again :p This is funny, but eventually will become frustrating.
(edited by Furion.9850)
No offense to ya but there are two other threads reporting the same issue. No need for a third thread. I am having this issue as well

ISP: Optimum Online
Region: New York, USA
Server: Kaineng
I reported this problem earlier today and Anet fixed it when I submitted a ticket. Now the problem came back again. The same issue of being disconnected and not able to login again
Update 1
I did the guesting trick of moving to another server as a guest then left the zone (Lion’s Arch to Gendarran Fields and back to Lion’s Arch. All is well for now. Hoping this problem does not come back.
Update 2
The problem came back 10 min later… zoning from FoTM to Lion’s Arch disconnected me and now I am not able to login. I used another toon to join the group I was currently in which was located in Divinity’s Reach. Ported to Lion’s Arch and was soon disconnected again. Now I have 2 toons that are not able to log into the game and both at Lion’s Arch
So far this has happened to me in Sparkfly Fen and Lion’s Arch.
(edited by Furion.9850)
My problem is similar to Broom.2561. I am able to log on with other characters/ toons fine. However, a few of my toons keeps getting the Code: = 7 :11 : 3 :191 :101 I farm Tequatl often so most of my toons are in Sparkfly Fen region. I was able to play on my main character when this problem first began on my other toon. However a few hours had passed and I moved my main character to Sparkfly Fen to kill Tequatl. Once it was dead I logged out and now I cannot log in. Four of my toons are in Sparkfly Fen and not able to log in. I am still able to log on/ log off with 2 other toons, but I am not going anywhere near Sparkfly Fen :p
Update 1
Anet fixed my issue. I am able to log on all my characters/ toons. Hope everyone is able to log on as well. Thx Anet for speedy fix ! I submitted a ticket as well as posted here in forum.
Update 2
The problem is back for one of my characters/ toon at Lion’s Arch. I was playing FoTM and then I lost connection. I got back into the game found another group entered FoTM then exited back to Lion’s Arch because I forgot something and disconnected during the transition from FoTM to Lion’s Arch. I am not able to log back into the game. My other toons are fine for now.
