Anyhoo, I’d like to know your reasoning behind putting them there.

I ran 4/4/0/0/6 on my Mesmer for ranked pvp pre-patch
I ran PU Mesmer to troll people in WvW, hotjoin and occasionally in ranked pvp when I’m in a pre-made going against solo queuers.

Yes there is a disparity between FOTM mesmers and “good” ones.

I beat FOTM mesmers just as easily as “good” ones beat me.

In time, a small number of FOTM mesmers may turn out to be “good” ones.

Mesmering is not my main and I’m average at best but it’s the class I choose when I want fast, exciting gameplay.

condi rangers and mesmers have always been the apex predators of 1v1 combat. problem with condi rangers in organized tournaments is they get focused early on. solo queues, they are one of my favorite builds to play.

I just came from a match in which an MM necro challenged me ( on Mesmer ) and talked a bunch of kitten about how he’d stomp me.

When he lost, he called me a “scrub” and claimed I was playing “the most broken class in the game.” He went on to say that we would be nerfed and that I should “uninstall.”

This is illustrative of why people are hating Mesmer at the moment. They simply aren’t used to the easy kill being competitive. Y’all need to learn to play against a Mesmer that isn’t going to automatically fold to the first damage spike.

I think I’ve encountered that delusional, sorry excuse of a human being. It invited me to duel its MM necro. A trash talker, I almost felt sorry for it. Wanted to duel me with FULL LF. Doesn’t work that way, usually allow the necro to have 15-20% LF but not full. It had to cheat coz it has no skill or talent.

I guess ppl are different. Im usually flattered when someone copies whatever I’ve created even if it’s crap

they keep abominations known as eles in check.

4/10 eles in that esl final. that speaks volumes that’s why ppl that main eles profusely defend their class.

a lot of engies are BAD. there are only a few great ones. to begin with. most of the nades bug spammers were ex-turreteers. you come across a decent engie every once in a while but theyre usually not gimmicky

Owned absolutely OWNED a nades engie on my d/d ele. They lack sustain and are super squishy.

I just want to say that for each person who feels “betrayed” by Anet, there is one of us that sees almost nothing wrong. $50 is a normal pricepoint these days. GW2 is a BTP game with no sub fee that provided content and story updates in between expansions via the “living world” system. There are a ton of features that have been announced though we do not know the extent of them at this point.

You do not HAVE to pre-purchase. If you do not feel confident, wait until some reviews come out or until the price drops, or until retailers start selling it for a few dollars less.

And finally, the base game didn’t ship with enough character slots for the EXISTING professions. Why would you assume that the expansion would give you another one just because there’s a new profession? It was never said by ANET that that was their intention, and you basically disappointed yourself by making assumptions.

I WANT the expansion to ship with the bonus core game because I want to see the game grow. I want to see new players hit 80 and then join me in my adventures in Maguuma. I do not feel that Anet owes me anything because they already gave me MORE than my initial $50 investment via the core game, living story season 1 & 2, various updates with fractals, the Aether Path dungeon, and some awesome memories.

Why you think that is going to stop because THIS time they want you to pay for larger than typical game updates (not to mention COMPLETE rehauls of existing systems that look completely BA) is beyond me.

If you want the game. Buy it. If you do not, wait for it to go on sale. If this bothers you and you must have it NOW, you must want the game…. So see step one.

I’m terribly unhappy with the nerfs that get stacked on the necromancer. Devs justify nerfs bcoz we have a second hp bar.

Makes no sense because vitality isnt very useful in pvp. Warriors had that problem and they fixed it rather quickly. Eles and guards have the lowest base hp and yet do exceptionally well.

Then later on down the road….you’ll get Living World Season 3 and 4, if we assume that it’ll be 2 season between each expac. You also get more feature packs, and more balance patches. You could sink hours upon hours into this expansion.

That is awesome for just 50.00

Does it suck that only new players really get a bonus item? Sure, but that doesn’t mean the price of the expac should change for us veteran players.

I do think a character slot would be a reasonable bonus to veteran players though.

Thieves are only a problem if you duel or chase them in a match. But if you’re doing what you’re supposed to in a conquest based game, you need to kitten coz thieves should’t be problem. We don’t bring much in team fights. We struggle fighting 1v1 for a point. We can be replaced with yet another cele class.

Anyways, it takes the effort of a full team to win so please leave thieves alone and stop knit picking our profession. Coz you really suck if you think thieves are a problem.

Come on now. I can understand a little bit of nostalgia. But this is just plain wrong: solo queue times could be over 10-15 minutes, and I was under rank 80 back then! Most solo players were playing in teamq, because there were fewer 4v5s, shorter queue times, better rotations. There were threads about the joke soloq was.

You can be in favor of soloq because the idea appeals to you. You don’t need to reinvent the history of this game to make a point. Or do you?

I don’t think he was concerned about progression but rather how to differentiate himself, one of the first r80s from the new pleb r80s that don’t deserve the legendary champ title.

That’s because engies are the aristocrats of this game. The other classes are plebs.

Bad sportsmanship sucks. When people go out of their way to taunt and belittle, I’d repeatedly use positive affirmations to reject them from having any influence over me

But I’m human and thoughts of knocking their doors down so I could bust their lips open with a pipe wrench doesn’t escape me.

Also it’s weird when your teammates don’t talk before the match. I usually greet coz um, silence is awkward.

This is an example of a player just being bad in general and abusing class mechanics to hamper his team.

The thief class, as previously stated, is not inherently bad, it just requires a certain level of insight and skill that many players are either incapable of fulfilling, or unwilling to put out.
