Do you like phat loots? Of course you do, and we do too! Here at Bears of War we’re looking for people just like you!
We’re currently looking for people that enjoy clearing dungeons as well as learning new encounters and improving on known encounters.
We’re looking for players that are able to be a solid part of dungeon groups, players that are capable of working well with other guild members. But most importantly players that aren’t afraid to make their own dungeon groups or find potential members through their adventures.
Though we are a currently small guild. We are looking to expand our ranks. For you dungeon raiders we aim to provide solid groups that do not self destruct 5 minutes after walking through the dungeon door.
Our players are generally active all through the day and into the night.

The changed it. Group stability for that long a duration was too much. Now the stability lasts 3 seconds and turns to swiftness.
Bears of War
Do you have no job? A student studying perhaps? Maybe a post-grad looking for work? Or perhaps you’re just extremely lazy. If you have enough time to wake up in the middle of the week and play a game then you’re just what we’re looking for. The Bears of War are looking to fill out our day-playing ranks a bit more.
What are the Bears of War?
Well obviously we are a guild like everyone else. We started setting up shop during the beta weekends with an aim towards a healthy guild community at release. So far we’ve been pretty successful in that respect. We launched with ~20 players and a majority of them are still playing.
What do they do?
We participate in all aspects of the game WvWvW, Events(usually around Orr), Dungeons and sPvP(tournament team application will require a specific application. You can discuss it with an officer ingame.) We generally participate in all aspects of the game. Probably with a fair bit more emphasis on the 80 zones and farming phat lewts. We’re currently developing our WvW and tPvP but we’re waiting for the realm matchmaking to stabilize a bit so the matches are a bit more stable and for the tournament system to well…actually include some tournament elements, like viewable leaderboard and/or rating system.
Our command structure(for those that care)
We don’t have a community run guild or a democratic system. We generally maintain a solid leadership core with promotional prospects for new members based on performance. Think of it as a Meritocracy run by a Dictatorship. More information on this is available on our website/ ask me(Galactic Bear).
What can we offer you?
A lower barrier to entry, why spend precious minutes filling out a stupidkitten application form when you can just whisper one of our Officers + Recruiters and be in the guild in seconds. This doesn’t mean we just recruit anyone. Malicious players will be removed asap(more on the type of people we’re looking for in the next sub-section.) We have all the usual support systems; websites, voice comms, social media networks, assorted Bears of War crockery at rip off prices. Generally our players are friendly and will give advice to anyone seeking it. We’re helpful like that.
Recruitment Restrictions
Though we are mainly recruiting daytime players we do want players from all timezones as we do have evening and late night players (though in most cases the late night players are the people that have been playing since the morning, go figure. So there are no restrictions on play hours, hell even if you only play for 20minutes a day we’d be happy to house you if you’re looking for a guild.
As I mentioned we do have lower barriers to entry than most guilds(simply requiring a whisper) but we do have some recruitment guidelines:
- No under-18s. The guild/vent chat will often contain bullkitten and mature content. Wouldn’t want to taint the young. Furthermore our ears can’t really take the db throughput by 10 years olds. If you do fool us you should probably put on a very manly voice. As there will be a good old fashioned witch-hunt.
- Iron hide. A thick skin isn’t necessarily a requirement but more of a recommendation. The nature of chat(on ventrilo at least) can be fairly abusive – but not in a hateful way – more of a loving-jab kind of way. A good sense of humour the ability to take and dish out jokes is definitely handy.
- Don’t be akitten If you’re not very good at the game that’s fine. We’ll try to help when you ask, and give advice on the matter – assuming we can. Class questions, game questions, guild questions sure we’ll do our best to help. If you show no signs of even attempting to learn the game or your class and spend time just being irritating then we have a problem. Newbiness is fine, incompetence isn’t.
- Ventrilo, though not necessary is where a majority of the communication/community crap goes on. You can join the guild and never use vent if that’s your preference, just letting you know.

So here’s mine:
Vengeance: Sometimes reses you when you kill a mob regardless of traits. Sometimes with traits you don’t rally on killing something.
Earthquake (hammer burst ability): If you land on people or a target thats on a ramp/stair case/slight slope/rock etc it tends to miss.
