I was able to do that with HoT. It should be fine. I believe you’ll need to order from the website (or authorized retailer) rather than via the in-game Gem Store. That gets you a code to apply to an account by copy pasting it in. So long as the code isn’t used by anyone else before your friend does, it should work. (I cannot verify that PoF works by sending you a code to apply because the Java errors got me to order via the Gem Store interface and that had it go straight onto my account).
Each time I gifted HoT I made sure I was in direct communication with the recipient and had them confirm first that they got the code and second that they successfully applied it to their account. I did not want any problems caused by delay or carelessness in handling the code.
That is actually what I did with HoT as well. I had made incorrect assumptions about the web store this time. Thank you for the feedback
Thank you Trogdor. You were right. I had assumed that it worked a different way than it had with previous iterations. And well, it doesn’t! My mistake.
Is this a violation of the terms of service at all?
Right now it seems if I buy another copy of Path of Fire, it’ll be accredited to an account that already has it. (mine) Is there any way I can send the serial code to someone who is not exactly the richest and would not be able to play Path of Fire otherwise?
This thread is about how Ascended Level Cooking could possibly be done.
Cooking is all about giving bonus stats. So when talking about Ascended Level Cooking, I think that giving permanent bonuses is a way to make these valuable.
Like Essence of Luck, there could be a bar that takes more and more of the said recipe to give additional bonus. I would say that having it comparable to the luck bar would make ever increasing needs for the food.
It could also be done that the food needs to be active for the full duration to give the bonus. A single meal would take half an hour to get the points towards the next stat, but a meal with a metabolic primer would give points towards the next stat every thirty minutes. This would also need the meals to last throughout death, or that’s a lot of wasted materials.
The stats provided would be like Power, Precision, Critical Damage, and the kin. It could also be done that it only gives points to magic find, karma, coin, and experience. But that would be boring. If the former is done, it would have to be per character. If the latter is done, it should be for the entire account.
As for ascended level cooking, I highly hope that the main ingredient in them is a spice derived from bloodstone dust. This spice would be mixed with lower level ingredients to make ascended level materials. Say, taking that spice, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries to make an ascended “Bumble berry” ingredient.
Is there anything you’d like to see for this concept?
