this event is always bugged, I used to submit bug reports for this but there doesn’t seem to be a point since it’s been bugged like this since the game launched.
the problem is snips from wiki

When Halt dredge expansion by defending Fridgardr Lodge fails, the event to recapture the lodge sometimes won’t ever start; blocking event progress.
This meta event frequently bugs and becomes stuck, blocking event progress. This can be identified by the meta event UI saying “The dredge and the Priory are competing for the center camps.” even when there are no active events at Fridgardr Lodge or Firebase Molek. When this occurs, [Group Event] Defeat the dredge commissar cannot start.

This should be a known problem, why has it been broken this long? at best this event lasts 4 to 5 days from a patch and remains bugged till the next patch.

I would think this could be fixed using the megaserver system itself, once a day open a new map and flag it as the primary map, so the bugged maps get closed.

it seems that these 2 events bug often, and remain broke on their respective maps until a patch or a new map is created. These maps/events have been in this state since the game launched, with megaservers it made the issue worse since guesting doesn’t switch you to a map with an un-bugged event.

It seems with megaservers arenanet could refresh these maps daily by opening a new map and emptying the old one once a day, so in lieu of a fix that may never come these events wont stay in a bugged state for weeks on end.

ogre wars meta event

is there something going on with this meta? every time I’ve gone to this event in the last 3 weeks it’s been messed up. as of right now the meta isn’t even showing up in the tracker when you enter the area and all the related npcs are either gone or don’t respond when you choose the chat option to start the event.
from what I’ve gotten in responses in chat this event is nearly always like this and is only able to be done if you get enough people in the map to create a new map, or in the first day after a patch

Traits not being awarded in personal story

If you created a new character since the feature patch and are working on unlocking traits via game play you will not unlock traits via the personal story steps if you are assisting another player and choose to accept their choices. in order to receive the traits you must be the one to open the instance.
I was unlucky and didnt notice this until i had gone through 80% of the story and was wondering why i wasnt getting any of the traits from it.

I’m going to go with the idea that anet wants to put out content for everyone. Some people like the full party dungeons, this is for them.

However, I can see your side and it would be awesome if the dungeons scaled to match your group. That would be ideal.

I think it would be cool for the worm event, if there is a certain threshold of people (50?) then more then one of him spawns. Like the main guy spawns and in a circle around him 4 -6 more spawn depending on the number of people. Make the central one invuln until the others are downed, but have hits on them all count toward credit for the event.

It would also be cool to see the mega bosses all have more attacks that interact with more then one person at a time. something to knock people around and keep them moving. Honestly I think grenth is a perfect example if he didn’t have that kitten paper thin npc with him. He’s sufficiently challenging on his own without that.

Granted I have limited experience with dungeons, the only one I’ve run a decent amount of times is arah (going for the bifrost), but I’ve found after I figured out the bosses attacks that most of them are easier in melee range. It does get hard to see some of their tells when they are bathed in particle effects from attacks but I seem to get hit less and the boss goes down way faster.

Range issue, it took me a while to figure this out when I first started using a staff. It seems that the 1200 range means that the ball will only travel 1200 total. So if your at the max edge of your range it will only hit the one baddie. With all the defensive abilities the staff gives you I tend to be almost right on top of the mobs when I use the staff just to get the most bounces out of it.

Staff is a bad weapon for tagging mobs or doing damage quickly. If your looking to tag mobs quickly your best bet is 1-handed sword, get right in the middle of things and start swinging like you are being attacked by bees.

I primarily play with a staff myself, and while a faster projectile would be nice I would rather have a faster attack recharge so it would more reliably stack boons/conditions.

Mesmers bad for the group against Lupicus?

I would argue that a Mesmer is perhaps the most important addition to a party in that dungeon. When Lupicus does his “cover the floor in red rings” attack, use feedback on him and watch him explode.. same for his puke on the floor in front of him attack during phase 3.

thats the same guide i used to learn how the fights go, I run a condition mesmer with staff – sword/focus combo so very different from how the mesmer in that guide runs his but you can take the information and apply it to how you play.
