Hey people

After being away from GW2 for several months, I decided to play again a few days ago.

I remember the forums and in-game chat to be full of negativity, people were very unsatisfied by the PvP experience.

As a PvP’er, I immediately went to check out the new WvW map.

I had so much fun seriously, the map is alot better than the horribly boring vanilla WvW maps. I love the objectives, the verticality, and the different themes throughout the map.

Most of all I liked the smaller fights that I had during my playtime. The structure of the Edge of the Mists somehow encourages not only zergs but also smaller groups of players. Plenty of times I would fight for more than 5 minutes straight (a long time when fighting) small group vs. small group. Sometimes even for 15 because we kept killing and they kept coming. The only thing wrong now is the semi-frequent crashes I get (every hour or so).

Most fun I’ve had PvP’ing in a while.
WvW in Guild Wars has so much potential i can’t believe the Devs don’t make good use of it.
But still, thanks Anet

Time for a *Deathmatch* mode ?

i agree 100%
Deathmatch would be nothing but beneficial to GW2.
Random and Team Arena’s were amazingly fun in GW.
They don’t need to do anything fancy.

- Remove capture points from the current maps
- Make them a little bit smaller (not required)
- Annihiliation mode or
- First to 20 kills mode (for example)

This doesn’t seem difficult to implement, but would be great for the PvP.
To be honest, this should have been in-game since launch.

Why is Spvp not taken seriously?

I fully agree Kasama, they focus on PvE because most people do that..

Yes PvE i soooo balanced…..
And that because obviously they consider PvE ans the most important part so PvP is unbalanced to preserve PvE balance…..

Infact they keep buffing warrior that is UP in PvE thus resulting in being OP in PvP.

Same with ele that is OP in PvE/WWW but then became UP in PvP.

._______.

Warrior OP in PvP?
Ele UP in PvP?

What?

Anyway the point of the thread is: Compared to GW1, the Spvp in GW2 is trash in comparison. Still better than many other games. But compared to GW1 it is far from where it should be.

I fully agree Kasama, they focus on PvE because most people do that.
But don’t you think few people play Spvp because they hardly make any changes to it?
I can see that if they make positive changes, like new maps or game modes, more people would play Spvp.

No seriously.

GW1 had some of the best PvP i’ve ever experienced. Maybe even THE best.
When GW2 wasn’t released yet i expected this to be even better with the new combat system. Instead we got this boring thing that many people aren’t even playing. Some guildies even say they haven’t been to HotM for months.

My problems:

- There is only one game mode. (wtf?)

GW1 had random arena’s, Team arena’s and Codex arena’s and some other things. Why is there only one game-mode in this game?

- Hardly any balance

Experienced players will know, there is unbalance. Period. It’s no wonder that a game with 8 classes can be unbalanced. Except Arenanet is doing too little to balance it out.
In GW1 when something was unbalanced, they would change it real fast.

- No Guild Fights

What the hell? Why doesn’t Guild Wars 2 feature Guild Wars?
GvG with the guild halls in GW1 was some of the best PvP I have ever played.
This should’ve been in-game since launch.

Enough ranting but I hope i got my point across.
The same developer of one of the best PvP games is failing at the PvP part of this one.
Anet is capable of doing ALOT better than this.

And they should
