I really wish I could have Fraps’d this game, it was a good one, but my computer is running like kitten, and I can’t run Fraps right now. I’ll get a good video up here when I can run Fraps again.
Anyway, the combat log is just an example to show the kind of damage output a warrior can produce. 15-20k each on 2 separate players, while they are both knocked down from mace 5, all in a matter of about 4 seconds, while being invincible and immune to cc. Topped off with a 12k eviscerate, at that.
Combine that kind of damage, consistently, with 50% uptime on fury, swiftness and 5 stacks of might, a stunbreaker plus 5 seconds of invulnerability, 8 seconds of stability and 4 seconds of quickness (no drawback if used in conjunction with Endure Pain), and you have a ferocious melee class.
But wait, there’s more… you also get a melee snare, ranged snare, 3 seconds of shield block, a stun, a gap closer, an AoE knockdown, and a wicked finisher on top of almost 22k hp and 1500 toughness.
Warrior is just fine as it is, and I don’t see what the qq is all about. Please try not to mislead poor new players, in the future, with your incoherent babble.
P.S. I speak from an sPvP & tPvP perspective. I don’t give a kitten about the rest of you But hey, at least I’m honest.
I really don’t understand the problem with AS + BS….
What exactly is the problem here?
Are you kittening crying because a glass thief counters other glass classes, and you can’t run your glass cannon build, and be unstoppable, so you have to target the counter for glass cannon builds?
Plain and simple, a glass cannon thief is a counter to any other glass cannon class. Period. That’s it. That’s what we do, people.
You know, when I am running around in sPvP and I am set up for backstabs, maybe 1/4 people I AS + BS on take more than 7-8k damage. That’s a pure dps spec, as well. Out of those 1/4, about 1/4 of them will make it here to the forums to kittening cry about it.
What happens to the other 3? They are people like me who realize “that’s what I get for running a glass cannon build. Touche. I’ll be ready next time”
I challenge any of you crybabies to run a GC thief build, and truly be effective with it.
It requires a certain style of play, and believe it or not, it’s not always as easy as it sounds to “pick your fights”. Sometimes you’re stuck with what you got, and if that, what you got, happens to be you engaging in a fight outside of stealth against a survivable class that knows what they’re doing…. well then that’s GG. Every time.
Thieves kill people, and they do it effectively. That’s our role, people.
Why is it so wrong that we are able to slip into a 2 v 2, correctly pick your target, and put em to the ground instantly, THE WAY YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO AS A THIEF, thus changing the battle in our teams favor, but it’s absolutely ok for a guardian to walk into the same fight, full heal everyone on his team, and turn it in his favor? Something seems wrong with that picture.
Seriously, crybabies, give it a try. I have a feeling you will be sorely disappointed in how often you will get caught, snared, stunned, etc outside of stealth, and how once that happens there isn’t kitten you can do but die… and die much faster than you are able to kill someone.
I am in the works of creating a video that shows what a backstab thief can do. I will post it here in the next week or two (not much time to create the vid between work and children).
All I have to say is this.
To those of you who run into a fight, get an instagib, and hide for 45 seconds. Wash, Rinse, Repeat…. Play a different kittening class. You’re making us look bad.
To those of you who think you can never lose to a backstab thief… lol. I hope we get a chance to play together, one day
While I do feel Basilisk Venom is kittened as an elite skill, I use it for one reason and one reason only. Pre-meditated, first degree murder.
That’s right, I’m talking about the ol’ “Bas Ven > Mug > CnD > AS > Backstab” combo.
I don’t always use the BS build, but when I do… I dirtbag the kitten outta people.
It’s pretty lame that our elite skill is nothing more than a simple co-pilot to an overall setup, but it serves its purpose. Ain’t no body reactin’ quick enough to pop outta that before I get my CnD off… and besides… Who the kitten wants to waste an entire CD just for a 1.5 second stun, when you already know what’s coming next, and can’t avoid it?
IMO this does not affect anything. It’s not like that 1 second stun is going to be enough to get off some powerhouse combo… except that one… but I’ve not seen a decline in my ability to pull that off, at all. Not one bit. It still works for what I need it for… and interrupting important skills too, which it still works for.
If you’re trying to use this for any other build… you were wasting you’re time pre-nerf and you’re wasting your time now. Just sayin…
This thread is hilarious.
There has to be a strongest attack somewhere people. What are you going to do when they nerf BS… move to whining about 100blades?? Oh wait that’s already been done. What’s next in line for big numbers?
I can 2 shot people with my BS build, and I get 2 shot if I’m not perfect about my “in and out” timing.
The tradeout for this build is that I have absolutely no CC (minus Bas Ven which is used just for the nuke), no survivability and no AoE. Because of this, I can deal massive single target damage. A fair trade off. I don’t run this build all the time, but when I feel like playing a real “assassin” type toon, I run this build. It’s perfect. You get in, get a kill, get out. You kitten up, you die.
You want a big, single target hit, Eles? Just ask Anet for a big single target whammy and tell them to trade it in for all your CC and your AoE and other cool kitten… oh wait, you want to keep that too? Well wtf….
I got an idea: Instead of asking for them to change game mechanics, how about you use your class the way it was meant to be used.
I hear a whole bunch of “That class hits harder than me, because it was meant to, because I have other abilities that they don’t, but I don’t take that into account, I just want big numbers”
You want big numbers? Play a big number class.
You want survivability? Play a survivable class/build.
You want utility? Play a utility class/build.
Stop kittening with other peoples classes and l2play your own.
