My engineer would make like Vexa and set up a crazy lab in the depths of Maguuma Jungle or high up in the Shiverpeaks. Screw the inquest, I don’t need them to acquire “research materials”.

Half the people in this thread didn’t even get the OP’s post. For those telling him MF is useless and he’s a leech, wooosh! This thread is about trolling the “elitist parties”, not being a leech. If OP didn’t know MF was a poor gear stat he wouldn’t be using it to troll, would he? Brilliant.
Back on topic, however. I dislike elitist parties. Mind you, I have all the gear they demand of me and could play with them no problem. However I main an Engi, so I get very annoyed when I see that over half the posts on GW2 lfg are CoF speedruns looking for ‘zerks. I usually find one or two groups in the cracks, but it’s endless farm spam. I never farm dungeons more than 2-3 times and I get enough gold just fine.
Honestly, I’d like to see CoF p1 changed and the overall (not just CoF) dungeon balance looked at to even out the rewards. Players should be able to run any of the dungeons to farm their gold. CoF and gear checks have always gone hand in hand it seems. I’ve never seen a lfg post that needs gear checks that ISNT CoF.
I’m not annoyed at the people for pinging gear, I just leave them alone and they leave me alone. To each their own right? However, their each and their own is becoming so prevalent that it’s infringing on my ability to find a group.
After a quick count, it seems that currently 37.4% of the posts are CoF. The second most prevalent being fractals, and then the rest of the dungeons seem to have a much smaller market share. I think that should be fixed, and I won’t have any problem with the CoF farmers.

One question
What the kitten are you smoking and where do I get it?
This would be brilliant. I like utility goggles sometimes as is, if I need a good stun break but purple elixir is almost always strictly better.
The rest of them are highly situational at best. Sometimes rocket booties can be good in W3 for emergency evacuations. What I want to know is how come ALL of the engineers repositions cc him when you’ve got kitten like mesmer teleports and ele mobility.
Overcharged Shot – self-cc
Leap Shot – takes longer to move than walking/dodging, only good for engaging on a netted target.
Rocket Boots – self-cc
Still fun to use, but boy it’d be funner if I didn’t stun-lock myself every time I play frogger with my enemies.
The idea of a steampunk saw is really cool. I really think the Engi’s should get a melee weapon. Why does a ranger have a greatsword AND a longbow with more range than us, and we get “medium range” only.
And the last kit you mentioned is brilliant, Hammerstaff 2013.
Hi, I was reading some stuff about people wanting Engineers to have Hammers for a weapon or merging it into the toolkit. That got me thinking about new weapons or kit ideas for the engineer. Let’s be honest, we don’t have a lot of weapon choices and some of our kits are lackluster/buggy. I’d love it if Anet gave us some love in this area, but if you’re reading the engineer forum then there’s a 97.3634% you already share this sentiment (nerf hgh, buff everything else, yada yada). Just brainstorming kits, because hey we’re engineers and making kitten up is what we do right?
Anyway, kits?
1) I’d love it if we had a power hammer type kit/weapon as suggested above. In that thread one person mentioned erecting a temporary palisade (could block projectiles or be traited to grant defensive things like condition removal/protection while it’s up). Hell with the way the Engi works, the 1 skill would probably fire the hammer’s head to 2000 range (long range hammer, close range rifle).
2) Weapon specific kits might be cool too. Perhaps adding a bit of depth to each weapon. Maybe rifle could get a kit where he screws on an extender and turns it into a sniper rifle. Not sure what pistols could get here!
3) I’d personally like to see bomb kit and mine kit switched. Why can we place 5 bombs but only 1 mine? I think making a 5-count mine field would be hilarious. This could probably be a direct swap too (i.e. bomb kit knocks back and strips boons, mines are normal/fire/concussion/smoke kitten .
Any other ideas for kits? Come at me.
