So right now I’m running GW2 off of an ASUS G751JL laptop, but it’s getting to the point where I’m getting just about 20-30FPS on average. The only upgrades I can stick on the unit is either a second HDD or an SSD, and another stick of RAM (mine was a “Best Buy” model so it lacks an SSD).
What I would like help with is this: Would adding more RAM and/or and SSD help, or would I need an entirely new unit? If its the latter, I was thinking of the Lenovo Ideacenter/Ideacentre Y700. Reviews say that while it’s not good for expansion, it’s more than enough for an entry-level computer for a Desktop Gaming novice like myself (as mentioned above, I play on a laptop..)

Could we get the options to lock the Minimap’s size/location and to prevent the minimap from homing in on your character while you’re moving?
Nothing more annoying than trying to scout the minimap and move around when you’re unintentionally moving the minimap size and it keeps moving back to your character every 2 seconds.
After killing a mob (or mobs in a specific area) you’ll still be in combat longer than it’s needed to be. I can confirm that I’ve killed a “standard” Chak add/trash mob and have been in combat for close to 30 minutes after that kill.
Basically, if you kill a mob where the wall to Dragon’s Stand is in Tangled Depths (as in it dies right on or right next to it within a maximum of about 20 units), you’d have to run till about halfway to the Ley-Line Confluence Waypoint (if you were on the waypoint looking to DS, it’d be the second pillar on the left, or the farthest one on the left depending on perspective).
I’ve been noticing that the Action camera doesn’t judge distance very well. Taking Revenant as an example, you could hit a Moa from 1,200 units away with Hammer Bolt, but be unable to use Phase Transversal (even when all targeting conditions are met) even though Phase Transversal also shares a 1,200 unit range. I’ve also noticed that (in the case of certain targeted skills) that even if you’ve targeted an enemy (either with the right-click or using Take Target on a promoted enemy) you’d also have to have the target within the scope of your targeting indicator (that small white dot), get close enough for it to change from the dot to the dot encased by the circle (but not the dot with four straight lines on its diagonals). But in the case of Druid’s Cosmic Ray, they just need to be close enough to their target for the skill to register, then they could move the camera to the side and still have the skill cast even without looking directly at the enemy, something skills like Phase Transversal isn’t able to do, even if the conditions are the same as Cosmic Ray’s.
So I know the whole Arena Net stance on “macros” (or more specifically, custom keybindings), the jest of which is 1 button to 1 function, in other words you can’t have a whole Elementalist’s rotation bound to a single button, but you can have Utility Skill 7 bound to an additional button on a mouse.
But here’s the problem. I’m using Corsair Utility Engine for the Corsair Scimitar. Prior to this I used a Logitech G700s with no issues (aside from downloading and updating the Logitech Gaming Software).
The problem lies with the Utility Engine. I can bind the buttons and use them fine and all, but only with skills that do not use a targeting system. Basically, if I wanted to use Shadow Refuge, I can’t hold the additional mouse button down to show the AoE ring assuming you’re using that option for quick-casting of skills.
I’m able to make do by creating a “chained macro” if you will (before anyone starts raising flags, I didn’t use the “macro” in Guild Wars. I more or less spammed a Notepad with 6’s, 7’s, 8’s, and 9’s).
In other words, I created a macro that mimics only the presses of a single button. I have a button that, when pressed, starts a 2 part macro. Part 1 is pressing the key, part 2 is the release of the key. Part 2 only activates when I release the key I bound that “macro” to.
Now getting to the question at hand, is this a sort of gray area that, while technically violating their standards set, is overlooked/allowed?
And while I DO know there’s an option for “While Pressed”, it doesn’t do anything remotely what I had in mind. What it did was repeat the button press, so if you bound 4 to a button with that setting, it’ll keep pressing 4 until you let go. Not press and hold 4, but press 4, release 4, press 4, etc etkittenil you let go of the button you bound that to.

Well, that’s a really out-of-the way way of putting it, though I’m not sure if it’d help much since my original computer died on me, so maybe the “Last_password_change” thing might help. Though as for what Ellienna.5027 said, the age only works on the character + characters you’ve played in total, and I should probably mention that I had world changed from US the EU when I had started, so I had deleted all my characters (at the time they were sub 20 and I couldn’t care about them), also my original character was deleted to accommodate a new character, so I don’t know how old it is.
Eh, welp, not much on the refund part than I am about account-specific details. Gonna keep my fingers crossed on the account age thing.
Currently playing a Condi Warrior. Thinking of making the switch to ‘Zerker but because leveling weapon/armor crafting from level 0 up to 400/500 for the armor/weapon items I need, I feel that it’s not worth at this time considering I’m “too far in” and strapped for cash and mats.
Thinking of using a mix-n-match of the different ‘Zerker prefix armor from the Dungeons (of the 3 different sets from Flame Citadel, Inquest, and Arah I plan on using 2 parts from each) while I try to RnG for Zojja’s armor from places like SW or from World Bosses like Tequatil (or whatever it’s name is).
And is there any way to boost weapon speed other than food, quickness, or from the passive we get when the target is sub 50% HP? Because I’ve seen various Dungeon and WvW videos with warriors on GS, and they all swing their weapons a whole lot faster than I do, and they’ve mentioned near the beginning of the videos they’re eating for Power/Might. I assumed it might have been a weapon sigil that pops it on weapon swapping but Google-san has failed me.
Just a couple questions regarding my account and the upcoming expansion Heart of Thorns.
1. I saw that accounts created between X and Y had the possibility of getting a refund. Does my account fall into this, and does it only pertain to players who bought the full game (as in, not when it went on sale for $10)
2. Is there a way or will there be a way to see when your account was created on? All I’ve been going off of were the oldest in-game mail’s sent/received dates.
3. Assuming that a player obtains a refund, how is it done and can you choose what you’d want the refund in, for example Gems opposed to cash or vice versa?
