I share my gw2 experience hoping it can help you. I’ve been playing for 20 days and love crowded events and WvWvW. After a bit of experimentation I came up with this set up that allows me to have very playable and constant 30 fps:

Resolution: Windowed – 1280×800 (my native would be 1440×900)
Frame limiter: 30
Animation: Medium
Anti-Aliasing: None
Environment: Low
LOD Distance: Low
Reflections: None
Textures: Medium
Render: Native
Shadows: None
Shaders: Medium
Post-Processing: Low
WvW Ch. Limit: Medium
WvW Ch. Quality: Medium

Everything unchecked

In areas with not much going on I could get 60 fps without frame cap, but then a few people would join in and the fps would be so unstable… what it’s most important for me is to get stable fps for hours (better 30 stable than 50 unstable).

To me windowing is big part of the thing (smaller size = less pixels to calculate.. am I wrong?)

My laptop is a late 2011 MacBookPro, Intel i7 2,4 GHz, 16 GB RAM at 1333 MHz, ADM Radeon HD 6770M, VRAM 1024 MB

It would be nice if other mac client users could share their set up so we can try it out

I also want to thank Ashely and let her know that if we have complaints it is just because we love this game so much and we’d like to enjoy our gw2 experience more and more. It’s a pity when you are so much into your playing and then a hawk appears… lol… it’s like waking up from a beautiful dream
Please Ashely keep us informed and let us know when there is any news about mac client

I perfectly agree. Any official piece of information from Anet would be a sign of respect for mac users that don’t run bootcamp. Two weeks ago Ashley Segovia from Technical Support wrote there was “no update at the moment”. At least can we ask IF and WHEN there will be any update about mac beta client?
I’m afraid Nageth got it right…

I’m a mac only user and just wanted to thank Killaa and Trog for their great help. I bought the mac beta saying to myself: I’ll learn how to play on the beta client and when the finished version is released I’ll already be a decent player. But after downloading the mac client (two weeks ago) I was completely frustrated with GW2 mac performance (unstable fps making it almost unplayable). Looking for advice on this forum I understood the beta was just a cider wrap and risking to remain a beta forever… and my frustration grew higher (sorry for my bad english).
Thank to killaa and trog advice I managed to get to a playable situation and am starting to enjoy my gw2 experience without constantly looking at fps rate. People at Anet should be thankful to Killaa and Trog for their work on this forum.
Thank you guys for keeping this forum alive!!
