Guild Enhancements: Prohibitively Expensive!
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Glacio Lightbringer.8394
Title says it all, and this is ESPECIALLY true for smaller guilds. Why does the cost of enhancements FAR outweigh their benefits? Take a look at the requirements for just the Karma guild enhancement. 30 Bottles of elonian wine? 20 glass mugs and 10 empty kegs? and 40 Bowls of Saffron-Mango Ice Cream? without even looking at the rest of the requirements, we’re talking about a substantial amount of gold here, tens of gold for just this ONE enhancement which lasts 24 hours?
So a guild is expected to spend at least 50 gold or more on each enhancement, which lasts ONLY 24 hours? This is a strain on most except for the most elite and rich of guilds!
For a game that was introduced as a casual-friendly MMO, it has drifted very far from its original intended path. This is only part of a wide range of other grind-intensive solutions that have been implemented that are only serving to demoralize all except a very few minority of loyal and hardcore GW2 players. Anet, where am I wrong here?
I like your idea about sentries actually generating points, however PVD is a big part of WvW and is even used as a map tactic, and is the only point I do not agree with. I think your sentry points idea does enough to encourage roaming. As it is roamers can take camps and taking sentry positions would make the pot even sweeter for roamers. That only leaves the problem of solo roamers having to contend with guild roaming groups, but that is a different challenge altogether.
Additionally I think sentry points should give a team certain abilities, at least a limited way to see enemy positions. I mean isn’t that the whole point of having forward sentry positions in a war? In WvW sentries are merely NPCs that just stand there and contribute nothing to the combat mechanics of the map. They can’t even kill enemy pack dolyaks that happen to walk by!
oh wow thanks a lot! that was very helpful
I have a friend in the EU who joined an american world in order to be able to play with me. However he says he cannot join WvW because the game will not let him unless his character is level 31 or higher. Is this a bug or are European GW2 clients different than their American counterparts in some respects?
2: Noodals
I will say some commanders need some slack and more credit. A few are very green and inexperienced and a lot of experienced and seasoned coms have left EotM because of all the griefing and trolling, and the new coms need our support
One thing I have seen that players do that I dont agree with (and indeed cannot agree between themselves) is whether to play for loot or karma. I think most players want karma but a few do want loot and to actually fight other players and so coms sometimes try to find a happy middle, usually without success.
I do agree that troll coms are a bane to WvW as a whole since some worlds are struggling to even maintain a presence there.
When you post an item or sale on the TP, and you match an existing sell offer price (instead of posting the item at a lower price) does your item go in the back of the “line” or is it the first item to get sold out of all the items listed at that price?
No thoughts on this? The best I can figure is that this problem happens while I use some combination of the w,a,s,d keys and the left and right mouse keys. Sometimes I can get the camera to lock again by randomly pressing these keys, but not all the time. Any ideas on how I can fix this?
I’d be curious to know too. I’ve had limited success finding juvies but it seems every juvie out of ashford plains are gone, except for the devourer which was in the map but not in the mapped location. I’ve been looking for days for the red moa, hyena and black bear, with no success.
However I did find the white moa and the ice drake where advertised in snowden drifts (took me all day since I must have been about lvl 7 at the time).
I’ll try to post any pet locations as I come across them. I’m level 20 now so it might take a while :P
Hello all,
I’ve had this issue for a while and I thought it was something I was pressing but I disabled all the keybinds for “free camera” and set it to the “j” key only, to ensure I don’t press it by mistake.
However, the camera seems to free itself during combat, which is very disorienting to say the least. I can press “j” to lock the camera to the character’s back again, but I am at a los as to why it frees itself in the first place. I am sure I am not pressing anything other than the movement keys (q,w,e,a,s,d) as well as the number keys and the keypad number keys. Any ideas as to why this could be happening?
