Issue with lines and freezing

While randomly playing HoT my pc screen gets these lines and completely freezes, other times its just a black screen and the gw2 process freezes.

The gpu temp is under control – about 70c max, (afaik anyways eveyr text ive done has been under that it may shoot up randomly) and i’m using default settings under Catalyst. Attached is the issue, couldn’t take a screenshot so i posted a picture. This is the 4th time in 48 hours. This is totally unacceptable for gaming, does anyone have any idea what’s going on here?

Going through event viewer i don’t see much out of place.

It does the same thing no matter what,run as admin (both with the properties checkbox and right click dialog box), different directory (%userprofile%\Documents\GW2), compatibility modes for windows 7 and 8. i tried running the 64 bit installer before that, I have absolutely no idea. I’ll try safemode next.

Not sure why, but renaming the setup exe to GW2.exe and throwing it into that directory lets it download. I’ve seen issues where people have to update all over again to play after they’ve exited the game so i don’t want to do that …. Any resolution for this? Windows 10 x64

What were to happen if I had two elementalists professions?
e.g. 2 seperate characters.

Would it “union” both characters stats into a single response? or make two separate responses? From what i’ve tested it does union them, but i’de like to make sure since my character was only level 1, the other being 80. (if it matters)

On another note; there should be a limited input on the topic title. Counting out each character is rather tedious.

I have a large database of users where there will be multiple ?access_token requests and I am trying to avoid sending and receiving alot of http requests to and from our servers.

is there a way to retrieve the JSON data formatted by “user” per access token? in a bulk request? e.g. by header or GET? (?access_token=“xx1”&“xx2”&“xx3”&“xx4”)

My idea is to create a cron job that will send a request of 200 users at a time every x minutes. so that the data is requested in chunks.

What is the recommended method here?

I went up against the same team earlier, it’s absolutely ridiculous. they had one double kit condi the rest were turret.

For the record turrets are absolutely poppykitten and ruin my otherwise fun pvp experience. If i wanted to face an overpowered opponent or multiple opponents i would play PvE…

3. It’s not meta in ESL because top players don’t want to be called noobs for playing something cheesy as that. (Cele meta already showing this) I think it you get 5 top players together, let them play 5 turret engi or 4 turret engi and a thief/ele/warr doesn’t matter, they can basically win any tournament. But they don’t. It’s lame.

I honestly believe highly organized teams steamroll turret engis. but anything short of decent organization it’ll shine and wreck teams.

Immobilize removes ability queues?

I’ve noticed the same problem. And I’m not sure if the whole entangle issues has been talked about either, sometimes i notice rangers entangling me but no immob comes up, i havn’t tested yet but is it possible to fake cast entangle? or is it just failing for no reason? i don’t dodge and aegis isn’t on me so idk..

I’m usually on around those times. Hit me up in-game if you see me on. I play Warrior and Guardian main. I also play a little Necromancer, Thief, Mesmer, Engineer, and Ranger. I’m absolutely terrible with Ele, but I like to TPvP alot as well as sPvP. I also run a guild who is recruiting PvP players that you may be interested in

pretty much. if you aren’t highly coordinated its very difficult to utilize. you need to pay very close to rotations, but even then if you dont have a dps to back you up you’re basically a useless POS for the team.

This is definitely something I’d like to see — there’s a huge amount of things that could be done with this. I’m thinking something along the lines of automated duel ladders via a password-protected/guild-only custom arena with an external web interface for match-making and gloating.

For ranked matches, I’m pretty sure we can’t provide data during the match — since you’d be able to inspect your opponent’s builds pre-match-start and other shenanigans. There may be other issues w.r.t. privacy/build secrecy. For hotjoins it’s no big deal since you can see everything in spectate mode; however, it’d be providing an advantage for ranked matches, which is probably something we don’t want. I’m not really sure.

Finally, there’s an issue of data retention — I’m not sure how much historical data we can feasibly store, but there’s a limit somewhere. It’d be on the application developer’s end to archive data, that’s just not something we can do.

Anyway, I don’t know if/when we’ll be able to implement it (or even which parts will come to light), but it’s an endpoint I really want, at least.

I really hope we can see something soon! I’m very interested in how this plays out, hopefully we can get some functionality that will allow us to also grab kills/deaths and some more specific information such as team damage dealt, skill use, and things of that nature to further track individual player stats in a log for developers and players. For instance tracking playstyle could help players run a better build. (do i deal alot of dps, or am i better at healing, or capping points, or team killing, etc.) it will really put a new level on pvp builds.

Now as for the applications developers or for the UI devs on guild wars 2 (whoever does the game programming), a tickbox that will be “disabled by default” for match data retention would be a good idea. and perhaps having a short window where that data can be grabbed by a server through the API. Say 7 days? I don’t know the specifics on how much data that will be for the servers personally, but I think it’s worth looking into, not everyone is going to have a use for data retention so I think it should be up to the players to manually enable the check box in order to cut down on data. If match data expired then return an error code that signifies that.

I don’t have a deep understanding of how match ID’s work (is each match incremented? or are the ID’s recycled?) but that’s my two cents. I really hope to see this up soon, i’m super excited to start taking advantage of this feature.
