I do. We’re brothers, more than friends.. and brothers have their quarrels, at times.
So I am one of those players who likes to play alone, in addition to playing with friends. My problem is, once I start playing by myself, I get unhealthily annoyed when contacted by guildmates, to the point where I go Invisible and keep playing alone even when explicitly called on. It is a problem I have, so bear with me.
So yesterday I did the same with my best friend, hoping against hope that if he would ever find out the truth (which he’s been positively accusing me of since the inception of this bad habit of mine in GW1, where I also had to contend with the nasty feature of stating how much time had passed since the last time I logged in – ONE MINUTE AGO = HE’S ONLINE BUT HIDING), he wouldn’t be too angry at his curmudgeonly collaborative colleague. Imagine my embarassment when I received (while playing!) an in-game mail from him, stating that he couldn’t decide what was funnier, me simulating software crashes going Invisible, or the game actually keeping track of my achievements and LOCATION even when greyed out. (He’s the coolest guy in the world, by the way, and he suggested I tell him when I do not want to play together. Luv ya, bro.)
So.. here’s the question.
Was it all in the plans? Of hampering us Grumpies around the world who try not to put dents in our friendships by hiding? Of not allowing us to guiltily hide in the shadows, hoping not to meet our mates in Lion’s Arch’s craftman sector?
My friendship was tested, and emerged victorious.
But I still really would like the game not to keep track of achievements and locations until I am Online again.

We have tons of utility skill.. yet we are stuck with the very same weapon skills we have since level 2. I have a suggestion: advanced weapon training. Profession trainers could, starting at a specific level (25?), teach more skills, even just a second complete set for each weapon. On this idea we can elaborate; it could be possible to do this for every weapon, or for just three or four, then the trainer won’t allow the player to learn more. This would give a sense of “specializing”, of acquiring real mastery of just some weapons. More skills, that we can mix and match with the already learnt ones at our pleasure, so to avoid having single target attacks in a weapon we would want to use for CC and vice-versa. It would be even possible to add a third tier, maybe at a different, higher level, for a single weapon only, ora even a single skill!, and allow us to “craft” it with a combination system like those in transmutation! For example, we could choose if our attack would be single-target or AoE; which conditions or effects on enemies it would inflict (with a limit of two/three for some, and/or a single powerful physical manipulation the likes of knockdown or blowback); making it a combo field or finisher. Obviously, the recharge time would be calculated automatically based on the effects. My only concern would be the animation, but it could also be determined (automatically) by the number of targets and he kind of weapon.
What do you think?
