I left the game for several months partly because I was frustrated that conditions were junk in PvE. I’ve had fun as a ‘zerker Necro since coming back, but the PvE feels pretty shallow with almost everyone just running around ’zerking. It’s surprising that we’ve seen so much great content (e.g. living world events) without any improvements to the condition cap that has broken so many specs since beta.
I had an okay time today in Maguuma’s borderland (my own). It felt slow, but it was cool to see it go from about 30% ours to almost entirely (had one tower to go when I left). It beat what happened when I tried going into EB last week – got steamrolled by an enormous invisible Team Legacy group a few times and then gave up.
What’s up with these invulnerable spots by supply camps though? Seems insane that they wouldn’t have been fixed if they’re as easily exploited as it seems they are. I saw a few different groups hiding in them, and then going in and out. This is a genuine question, I’ve barely done WvW and in search results most people reply like they are old news – so are they intentional, or what?
Are you bragging about how much gold you have, or what? You have no new information to share so I can’t see a point for this post beyond that.
Somebody said Necromancer is very fast…. wtf? Corrupting informations or just blindness? Conditionmancer has no mobility (i hope you won’t waste stunbreakers -Spectral Walk- to wander in s/tpvp); the only boost speed you can have is from the oh Warhorn, and whatever has a nice cooldown.
Signet of the Locust is passive 25% speed now, which is quite nice.
I find myself frustrated because while Condition spec isn’t as fun to me, but it’s quite effective. My power and crit damage build worked well but was hobbled in dungeons by needing to be in melee range. I tried a few different builds and dagger/dagger was a lot more fun, I like actually hitting things. Axe was so fun in beta :\ Last night I finally rolled an elementalist and kitten it feels like it has a lot of utility. I’m definitely going to be looking at other classes as well, but there is a lot about Necro I do like.
And the point of this thread?
To talk about the happenings of the trading company. Doesn’t get much more on topic.
I’m still curious about how big the population is (both total copies sold and stats for currently active, and average concurrent users), but knowing it’s worldwide means it’s on the order of magnitude of hundreds of thousands, or even a million. Thanks!
I’m still adjusting to the different numbers here compared to other game’s auction houses. Previously, seeing items for sale “ahead of” mine gave me pause. But with linked auction houses, having 5 at the same price may make little difference, if I’m selling to a very high number of purchasers.
Does anyone know how many players may be looking at the trading post, say for North American servers? (I presume the NA BLTC isn’t linked to EU servers). It seems like there’d be a difference between selling to 10,000 potential buyers and 1 million. Of course, not all players will be looking at the trading post, but if anyone has some numbers on either the total number of accounts on North American servers or something that indicates the number of accounts using the trading post, it would give me a sense of scale, at least.
If it’s the same reward with two access points (so that people who never do PvE can get it in the Mists), then this would make sense. Before we assume you’re supposed to get two different gifts and that it’s bugged, do we:
a) Know that they are different gifts
b) Know firsthand any cases of receiving gifts from both places?
I’ve been surprised every time I’ve seen a group event that can’t be done with friends. My wife and I logged in to try Halloween content, and when she saw we couldn’t do it together, that was the end of that event for us. We’ve been enjoying doing the Infinirarium together each night so far. Bummer that this is also PUG only.
I’m baffled as to why you didn’t think going in that it would be important for players to do group events with groups of their choosing. It can hardly be a surprise.
But at the south (I think) side of the instance there should be the familiar “dungeon” map marker door. I haven’t tried it, but that is probably the way to exit without finishing.
Yes, this works; I’ve done it.
I’d enjoy doing TA, put me on your friends list and give me a holler if you see that I am on.
It is great as a defensive tool, and that’s mostly what you’ll use it for (or the #4) at low level. Don’t underestimate the value of that fear, or the chill effect from #2! Later, and with a couple traits, it can be a fun and powerful offensive tool.
I’m currently using the Unyielding Blast trait in Soul Reaping to make DS1 pierce (go through multiple mobs) and cause Vulnerability, and the Reaper’s Might trait in Spite to make it grant Might. So I start a fight with a few DS1 shots and get that many stacks of might, with the mob half dead and vuln’ed. A few shots from the dagger and they’re toast. I just picked up Weakening Shroud as well, to have it cast Enfeebling Shroud when I enter DS, and that should work great for how often I pop in and out. It’s been a blast.
I enjoyed the 25% run speed from Signet of the Locust’s passive effect this weekend. Last night I thought it felt a little off, and the boon/effect’s tooltip is saying 10%, even though the skill’s tooltip still says 25%. Did anyone else notice this? Anyone see which is actually occurring?
Doing something that has not been done before on this section, at least from my knowledge. Hopefully this will show ANET where they are standing with their customers.
Who here made one of the three decision after seeing these patch notes, and months of neglect + disrespect ANET has shown the necro community:
1) Quit the profession, and moved onto a different profession.
2) Quit the game.
3) Continuing to give hope in ANET to change and try to listen to the community.
4) Loved the recent patch, still playing the necro.I’ll start and say i chose number 2, because the necro is the only profession i enjoy and the neglect to key bugs/balance threw me off after waiting since BWE3.
State the number/reason behind your decision.
4 – My Signet of the Locust run speed went from 10% to 25%. That’s been a positive quality of life change. I switched to a power dagger build and have been having a lot of fun. Then again, I don’t obsess over balance or patch notes, just play the game and have fun.
I really don’t like it being timed, though the difficulty of the jumps themselves is fine. The time limit makes it stressful, and having to wait after failing just makes it worse. I’ve failed in jumping puzzles a lot but being able to jump right back in kept it fun. Here I get punished by having to stand around :\
Here’s your red post. Sheesh. The game hasn’t been out for three weeks yet, it’s far too early to be doing this amount of complaining. Have some patience, and enjoy what’s good.
I don’t like the idea of keeping anyone out of WvW, which is already hard to get into. A compromise would be to say that the slots of some number of guild members leaving WvW are held for a minute or so. If a member of the guild isn’t put into the slot within a minute, it goes to the queue. That’s a slippery slope, though.
It’s fun. There doesn’t need to be any reason beyond that.
That post had some merit, but it was buried by a lot of hyperbole and going off-topic to be snarky. The point would benefit from a presentation that isn’t so over the top; for instance his nitpicking every trait from the sPvP viewpoint, ignoring the obvious reality of some traits being for PvE and WvW. The Necromancer has some weak weapons, but it’s hardly worthless.
Intigo’s post hit the points that I wanted to, and I support it. Some information about the current state of queues and WvW to inform your choice and presence in the queue would be invaluable. I’d also really like a “Join first available” for WvW, because I want to do it more than I care about which zone of WvW I am in.
I’m ready to transfer my guild to a lower population world, but I am concerned that it will become a high queue world shortly thereafter. Thanks for posting the rankings, so I at least know which are viable transfer candidates.
