I think this is my second time making a post now, although this time it’s for a different server. Basically, I just came back from a long break, and the game’s completely different to me. I’m basically a noob at this game again; nonetheless, I plan to learn as much as I can because before, I didn’t really see the potential fun I could have in this game. Now that I’ve experienced more of it (have a level 80 elementalist), I can see how satisfying it can be. Satisfying, if I actually have people to play with. I’ve tried joining many different guilds, but I get the same cliquey vibe from them… It’s hard for me because I can’t be on teamspeak as often as I’d like to because I play with family around me. However, I’m very active and I’m always talking in guild chat or making friendly conversation.
I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m looking for a guild, regardless of size, that’s looking for people to join and be more than just members. It’d be nice to have people that are experiencing the game again just as I am, not just an entire guild full of geared people doing end game content only. I’m willing to be a contributing member of your community, all I ask is that you accept me and welcome my noobiness. Thanks! (I may be a noob now, but I’m super competitive and I’m doing everything I can to get better at PvP and WvW in general)
I just came back from a super long break and I pretty much forgot everything there is to know in this game… That being said I’m a die-hard PvP junkie, but the problem is since I know nothing about the classes other than my own, how do I learn those queues where I know, “okay, this is when I should burst”, or things like that? I already queue into practice PvP lobbies but the thing is if I don’t actually know what they’re doing I think it’s kind of hard to recognize those kidns of things.
Aside from actually playing a good amount of time on every class, how can I get better at seeing those visual queues and recognizing their abilities? In PvP everything’s happening so fast it’s hard for me to keep track of everything to be honest. And apparently the class I started with (Elementalist) is the hardest one, so I guess that doesn’t really help me out either. Any tips?
Before I begin, I’d just like to point out that I’m a returning player that decided to come back after a long break. I never got into WvW, and this is my first time actually experiencing it firsthand.
Now, that being said, I find it extremely strange that it costs gold in order to perform vital services such as upgrading or purchasing things such as blueprints. Why is it that in a game mode that is essentially PvP, we are required to spend in game currency to play?
It all seems a bit strange to me, so I wanted to hear some input from other players regarding this. I’d also like to point that as I said before, I’m barely experiencing it firsthand so correct me if I’m wrong about anything I’ve stated.
Server preference: Sanctum of Rall
Play Type Preference: WvW mainly, some PvP
Player Style: In between casual and hardcore
Active Time: I live in California, so I follow the PST. I’m usually on in the afternoon to evening.
Voice preference: I’m okay with using voice chat for WvW
Social preference: I think I’d prefer to join a small, tight-knit guild; I like running with groups that sorta connect as a family.
Body: Name’s Johnny, I’m 20 years old and I started playing this game since release. However, I took a long break and I’ve recently come back. My two characters I’m currently investing my time in are my 69 Elementalist and 29 Rogue. I still lack a bit of knowledge when it comes to the game, but I do know one thing for sure: I’m obsessed with WvW. I think it’s an adrenaline rush, and I absolutely love it. I’m kind of a noob at it though; I never really got into it when I played back then. However, I’d love to find a guild that’s actively running WvW.
