Those who only play for the rewards don’t seem to understand those who play for the fun of it. They give advice equivalent to “It’s not so bad, just close your eyes and think of England, it’ll be over quickly.” They don’t understand that some are not willing to prostitute themselves.
So what are you playing for, rewards or fun? …
I guess like most people I used to play for both under the old system. Under the new system last night I played strictly for fun … in another game.
I logged in, got my reward, looked at the pve dailies (I don’t do pvp or wvw. I don’t find them fun.) Decided I didn’t really want to get events in PoA or do the SB in Queensdale. So I logged out and played another game. So last night I played for fun.
Just to echo the same sentiment.
The specific nature of the new dallies have made them more of chore rather than fun.
So now I visit Tyria far less than I used to, and spend more time and ‘money’ playing another game.
It is a real shame, as GW2 had such potential two years ago, but some bizarre design choices in past 12 months has changed my opinion.

However, like the OP I was really looking forward to the content..then entered the area ….and …urgh…jumping…..

If I wanted to play a jumping game, I’d play Mario not GW2…..
Was one event from completing the ‘old’ daily earlier tonight…..then the patch came…
Heart sank when I’d lost all my current numbers and I saw the ‘combo’ achievement in the ‘new and improved version’…
…. but I gave it a chance and spent an hour in WvW trying to complete it (had completed all the other sections)…with no success.
…..and now, it’s been reset to the old daily!!??
What a waste of time!!
