The thing is the recommended system requirements said nothing about needing a i5-i7 ivy bridge chip if they had most people could have spent 60$ on something else or at least the game wouldn’t have been a disappointment because you would have known you were gonna get crap performance.

i have an i7 with nvidia 650m chip.. it’s a brand new apple macbook pro with retina, i was having no problems running this game 50fps constntly even good fps while in wvw. now after a patch today, its just been horrible. i think something wrong with the game right now.
so the FPS slowdown i had started today. i think it started AFTER i installed some windows updates. anyone know what those windows updates did? or did anyone else have the problem after updating?
im starting to wonder if they made a mac version where it automatically disables parts of the gpu, and applied it to the PC version or something. the mac version doesn’t seem any slower, (or faster.) and the pc version running in windows seems much slower. someone must have made a mistake or something.
i have the retina macbook pro with similar system specs, having the same major framerate drop. i used to be able to run it very smooth, 50 FPS all around. no slowdowns. suddenly today it’s just slow and jerky and not even close to where it was.
i have the baseline macbook pro with retina display, i’m running it on bootcamp with windows 7 installed. i am using the drivers that apple provides. tried updating the video driver and that diddn’t make a difference.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5
i had also a significicant framerate drop today. using a macbook pro retina in bootcamp. i was getting 50 fps in most areas and even max settings were playable. now max settings gives me like 10 fps. Something is wrong. i tried updating the nvdia driver, and that diddn’t help. also tried reinstalling the bootcamp drivers, and that diddn’t help. all i have installed on windows, is windows, and guildwars 2 and the mac driver package.
edit: want to be clear that i am running the windows client. that’s what i am experiencing the slowdown on. not talking about the mac beta client.
hey i just wanted to say thanks for a mac client. downloading this now.
i have the retina macbook pro too. it’s designed to get that hot under heavy performance. theres not much you can do about the temperature, that’s just how warm it’s going to get while playing games.
