Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and answer questions!!
I just read through the discussion and am looking forward to trying this out. I’ll watch the videos later (want to get in and play now). After the last patch I was a bit bummed with the mesmer and started playing a guardian. You renew my enthusiasm for the mesmer and will dust it off and jump back into the fray.
Mature, huh? Who needs mature when you have fun, friendly, and frivolity!
I was getting ready to log in and play some GW2, but I suddenly feel the need to buy some Yankee Candles.
Aye, I’m moving to Gunnars Hold cause I read that there are acres of land and a guild mistress awaiting settlers willing to live on the server and represent AI.
Okay, everyone watch out for the pile of seriousness outside of the door. It’s rather large and haphazardly arranged as no one cares about the seriousness.
We had fun in World vs World last night and plan on continuing more semi-organized romps out in the battlegrounds.
Yesterday’s question of the day: “Black cherry or mint chocolate chip ice cream?”
We have vacancies for good people looking to have fun while playing a game. The last thing anyone in AI wants is to turn this game into a second job (or maybe a first for some). We don’t do interviews, we don’t require another registration, and we don’t require an application. If we did, we’d ask something totally off the wall and unrelated to the game like which flavor of ice cream would you choose? So if you’re interested in joining, bring along your sense of humor and check your seriousness at the door.
I know something new here!
As many others I am looking for a place to spend my time in GW2. I have no desire to rejoin the bore of WoW. I’m a former " hardcore" (I hate that term but the best way to describe it) raider/raid leader, looking for a slightly slower pace. Tired of all it entailed.
I’m US based, in the Borlis Pass server, 25 so a “mature” guild is ok, probably would fit my humor better.
I can relate. I’ve been there, done that. This time around I’m just taking it easy and enjoying the game.
If you’re still searching for a guild, I invite you to check us out.
Alchemy Incorporated @ Sorrow’s Furnace
I’m laid back, sarcastic and can take many a joke
I’m not a big fan of close-minded homophobic people and bigoted/sexist humor.
But I love being around accepting/sweet/hilarious/helpful/goofy people
Normally I wouldn’t post if someone has already pitched my guild, but I think you’d fit right in with us. Seriously, check us out.
We’re a friendly casual group of people with room for more. We don’t require voice chat to play. If you’re still searching, then consider checking out the recruitment post for more information.
Alchemy Incorporated @ Sorrow’s Furnace
As an aside, I bought Torchlight II, but the few times I started to play, I couldn’t do it because I just wanted to go back and play GW2. It’s not a fault of Torchlight II, just that I’m hooked on GW2. So I admire people who can do both.
Currently looking for an allround guild to join! As not to waste your time (or mine :-P), there are a few things I look for in a guild.
As not to waste your time either, I’ll make it short.

If by furry, you mean… oh nevermind, that would be TMI and would get me in trouble.
I’m very friendly, helpful, but rather shy.
You may not believe me, but I can totally relate. I enjoy the game and knew at some point I’d have to join a guild because to be honest, there’s only so much you can do alone. None of my friends were playing GW2 and so I wasn’t looking forward to the process of looking for a guild. I’ve also been burnt out on MMOs in general so the last thing I wanted to do was go through an application process and BS my way about why I wanted to join a group of people I didn’t know. Thankfully I stumbled upon AI’s recruitment post, asked about joining, and was in. They’ve been a great bunch of people to play with. They didn’t push me into joining groups or participating into events but at the same time people made the point to say hello and see how things were going. So far, I really like it and that’s why you’ll see me out here encouraging others to check them out.
If you’re still looking for that fun casual guild, consider checking us out.
Just one thing… you’d be required to provide warning if you’re making videos cause I sure don’t want my corpse plastered across the internet for eternity.
If you’re still looking at guild, I invite you to check out ours. While we do have mumble available for people to use, it’s not a requirement to join.
If you haven’t made a decision, I’d like to invite you to check out our guild.
I’d say that we’re a CST guild, but we have people on all the time with the majority on during the prime time hours and then weekends. We don’t have any requirements of your time, don’t require voice chat, etc. We have an active guild chat, but not so active that it scrolls by before you can finish reading a line. We’ve been scheduling events and plan on making some regular events.
If you’re interested, please check out our guild recruitment post here:

If you’re still looking for a place to hang your hat, I invite you to check us out. Now I don’t know what you’re specifically looking for in a guild so I can’t say one way or another if ours would be what you’re looking for, but here’s a link to our recruitment post:
If anyone is interested in seeing what the guild is like, you’re welcome to join and lurk in our guild chat for awhile and just see if our guild suits you. There are no commitments, no applications to fill out, etc. Just contact Aye and tell him you’d like to check us out. If you stay, that’s great. If you don’t, no hard feelings.
As for active, as an example, I think before 9am this Sunday morning we had at least 10-12 people online. People talking about pancakes, crepes, teenagers, music, blueberries, etc. There was some game related chat sprinkled in there somewhere.
Seriously, a bunch of good helpful people…. and we have old people!
We’re always looking for new people to join our guild. We’re a small-ish, mature, laidback guild. So if you haven’t made up your mind and don’t mind a server transfer, check us out. If anything, you could always join us for a short bit (without a transfer) just to see what our guild chat is like and what we’re like. No commitments.
If you haven’t made up your mind, I welcome you to check us out. We’re a fun guild with mature people. We don’t impose any requirements on your time and understand there are RL commitments. You’re always welcome whenever you have the time to play.
I think with how the guilds work in the game, you could always join while on another server, listen in to our guild chatter for awhile and see if it’s someplace that you’d feel that you fit in. No commitments. No applications. We’re just here to have fun.
Old guy looking for a guild?! We’re a guild with a bunch of old people who keep yelling at each other to get off each others lawns. We regale each other with stories of the old days.
But seriously, I think our average age is over 30… unless we’re talking maturity, then maybe it’s a bit lower. We like to have fun in game, run events, wvw, etc. We also talk about pancakes, our teenage kids, music, sweets, and whatever else. It’s totally random sometimes. But it’s all good fun.
Anything else you need to know can be found in the recruitment thread:
Alchemy Incorporated @ Sorrow’s Furnace
I should add that while some are high level, we have people in all sorts of ranges of the game and many who are altoholics. If you have questions, there’s someone who can probably help. Although map chat has been generally friendly and helpful as well.

If you’re open to transferring servers (while it’s still free), I welcome you to check out Alchemy Incorporated. We might be what you’re looking for.
I hope it’s not too late to add this, but I welcome you to check out Alchemy Incorporated. Many of us in the guild are casual and are having fun while enjoying the game. The majority of members are age 30+ so you won’t be an old guy.
Sense of humor?! Definitely! The only thing we don’t have at the moment is guild groups for sPvP but I know a couple of people are working on organizing that.
You must know that there are three variants of the word there and how to use each one:
There — Over yonder
They’re — what they be gonna do
Their — not your’n.
Should left out the definition and you could have used it as a test for new members.

I welcome you to check out Alchemy Incorporated.
Just wanted to toss our card into the fishbowl.
We’re a small, yet growing guild. I personally haven’t done any dungeons yet, but I know we have members who have been running them. We’ve also scheduled WvWvW as a guild event. Guild chat is always welcome.
I welcome you to consider AI as an option. I can attest to the friendly and helpful nature of the guild. As for focused, I can’t speak to that as I myself am usually off aimlessly wandering the snow covered lands of the Norn. I get distracted by trees, ore, events, mobs, reviving random people, doing more events, and next thing I know I’m on the complete opposite side of the zone and never did do what I originally intended.
Automatic Speed Buff in Capitals (i.e., I hate big cities)

Posted by: Gravedancer.3201
While I appreciate the immersion factor that a large expansive capital city lends to the game, I always feel dispirited when I have to enter one.
For me, I just want to get in, talk to the NPC I need to find, hit the trading post, bank, or the crafting workstation and get back to whatever I was doing. The quick travel does help, but it’s still often a slow walk to where I need to go. I’d gladly pay the coin to be able to quick travel right next to the trading post NPC or to the workstations. Or how about an automatic speed buff vs. having to hunt down the NPC that grants it?
You all did a wonderful job in keeping us in the action longer and eliminating many of the monotonous tasks associated with mmorpgs. Now if only you could make traveling within the sprawling capital cities a little less time consuming.
You shouldn’t.
But if you insist on doing something when someone tells you otherwise, here’s more information.
“…“my norn is bigger and stompier than your norn!” is frowned upon.”
Wait, no one told me that?!
I may need to reconsider my decision ’cause my norn is bigger…
I was working the Norn story line in regards to the Jotun and I chose to build the weapon. The blacksmith had a couple of lines missing. Last night I continued that threw with the Charr and recovering their vehicle. There were a number of missing VO in that part of the storyline. Particularly where the one merchant refuses to help but then changes his mind after I helped defend the keep. Sorry for the vagueness, but I don’t remember the names / locations very well.
A good bunch of people. Helpful if you need it, but won’t pester or harass you if you just want to go off and do your own thing. I mean, sometimes a Norn just wants to kill Jotun on their own, listening to the Jotun’s dying screams as the blade pierces their spleen. The last moments of their beating heart as it slowly fades away. The crunch of the skull as… ah, I think you get the idea.
So come check out AI. There’s a website too, nothing fancy, flashy, and no boring applications to fill out. It’s a game after all, not a job. So come have fun… or not.

What would happen if I did talk in the guild channel?
