Guild Wars 2

I just recently got a level 80 warrior and I was looking into creating a Elementalist and I was wondering if the more experienced players out there could answer a few questions.

1.Is Elementalist viable for solo play, is it gonna feel a lot different than playing as a warrior(defense and all)
2.What weapons should I use? Staff,dagger,focus,etc.
3.What stats should I try to improve upon with weapon and armor sigils?
4.Anything else I should know?

I am fairly new to the Guild wars 2 community having played a good 2 weeks now and I have accumulated around 30 gold pieces but I have a few questions I hope can be answered.

1.With this 30 gold I currently have how far do you think I could level weaponsmithing, and how much would I need to get to level 400?

2.Is Weaponsmithing worth it in the end game?

3.Is it more efficient for me to make my own materials such as axe heads from materials I bought or should I just buy the axe heads or other items straight off the Black Lion board?
