Living armor/weapons?

So I enjoy the story of guild wars 2. It’s amazing, it’s dynamic, and it’s really fun to follow. I wish, though, that the armors and weapons were a it more unique. Sure there are legendary weapons which are all high and mighty, but once you get a weapon there is very little that keeps you pushing towards bigger and better things. I bet several people have had an idea like this, but I’m just putting it out there because it’d be pretty awesome…

Progressive weapons and armors. The main concept is that the more cool and or bad kitten things that you do while wearing the armor or using the weapons, then the cooler they would look! So say you’ve gotten this really bland and boring looking weapon. It’s not really something special, but it lets you know that if you complete ten dungeons while wielding it, then it’ll transform into something cooler looking.

There are many ways that you could implement something like this, and I am just placing a general idea out there… but it’d be awesome to not only have a weapon, but then to be attached to it and have motivation to enter the random world and use it. The same goes for armor…

Just an idear… keep it classy.

Staff Walking Animation...

So I’ve been playing on my guardian for a bit now, and after doing some escort quests and walking at the npc’s slow pace I have seen that, well, you carry a great sword over your shoulder like a boss. It’s a pretty cool looking stance, and I was all excited that maybe there’d be other nifty little things that you can do like that. So logically I switched to my staff and started walking but you simply carry it by your side...

Anyways, I’ve been wondering how hard it’d be to add an animation to the game where if your staff is out and your walking you’d use it as a walking stick (*cough* Gandalf *cough*). It’s the attention to the small things that got me interested in GW2 and I’d love it if there were cool little things like that.

Ahh, well I guess that does make sense. I never realized that combat makes you significantly slower, but it’s probably true. Thanks!

I was just wondering, are there any bosses that use jumping puzzles during the boss battle fight? That’d be epic if you have to like climb up a dragon’s back and then take out something while it fly’s over Tyria and such.

I figured that I would ask to see if this exists in the game before i look into posting a suggestion about it.

(This is inspired based on the fights in Shadow of the Colossus)

Why can't rangers use guns?

So the rangers are fun, I’m not complaining about functionality or lack of content… What I’m wondering is that if a ranger can be so versatile so as to use the great sword to get up close and personal, chuck single handed axes from a distance and still be able to go the traditional bow-route, then how come we don’t get the ability to use rifles? I mean… in all seriousness, what’s holding a ranger back from this technological advancement in the world of Tyria?

This mainly stems from the problem of having really cool looking gun skins, and yet not being able to use them on my main character. It’s an annoying dilemma.
