Strange Computer Restarts

I’ve been having strange issues while playing Guild Wars 2 recently. At random points during play, my computer has restarted at random. Checking the event viewer revealed that the restart was a kernel-41 error. I did a little digging on my own and found that the issue might be related to an insufficient power-supply unit in my computer, but also found evidence that others had the same issue and only with certain games such as Guild Wars 2. Oddly enough, my computer is able to play every other high performance game that I own without these issues. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is this a problem native to Arena.net’s coding, and will it be fixed in a future patch if so?

Just need to say this...

I absolutely love the Guild Wars 2 community. I really do. This is the first time I have ever seen a game where members of the community act like people and not animals. I had started playing during the beta, but because my friends backed out on getting the game, I quit before launch and went back to WoW with them. After months and months of headache and dealing with some of the worst people I have ever had the displeasure to encounter on the internet, I told my friends enough was enough and hung up my hat. I came back to Guild Wars, just to see if it was any fun and if it had improved since beta; I do not regret the decision. I have yet to see another MMO where people will go out of their way to help others in the same extent that they will here. To everyone who treats their fellow players like humans, thank you for restoring my faith in the gaming industry and in humanity. ArenaNet, thank you for your hard work on this game and please keep it going in the direction you’ve based the game on; don’t listen to the people who want to turn this in to another brand of MMO, the kind people are tired of dealing with. The content, the focus on delivering a great and involving story, and a community more apt to lend a hand rather than laugh at another’s misfortune are the staples of an amazing game and a wonderful experience. Again, thanks to all who make and who play this game. Playing with you all has—and I hope will continue to be—an honor and a privilege.

… to play an Arms warrior while strictly using only the rifle and the skills related to it? Pertaining to PvE of course, and in competitive terms. I wanted to try a sniper-ish character, but I’m not fond of bows (striking out Ranger) and the Engineer class seems to get too technical with the skills.

In terms of what I liked, I enjoyed the lore of World of Warcraft until it ventured off in to the… well… popular culture reference crap that it is now. Some culture references are okay, but when you dedicate multiple quest lines in each zone to that crap… just no.

I switched to PvP when I got tired of that, but quickly grew frustrated at World of Healcraft. Seriously, me and two other players fought two paladins and a mistweaver monk (three healing classes for the non-WoW savvy) for 6 minutes straight in a battleground. They retreated when we killed the monk, but I left immediately after from being so exasperated as to how they could let imbalances like that happen.

After PvP I switched to playing the auction house. I enjoyed the simple things, like fishing and crafting, and making money was always a plus. If I like the story, I’ll be a PvE-type for sure, while doing crafting and such on the side. Think Guild Wars can lure me in and hold me on that front?]

Edit: I wanted to get some opinions before I start the long update, lol. I want to know its worth my time before I jump in, rather than jumping in, playing halfway through it, and then realizing I’ve wasted time I could’ve spent playing another game elsewhere. I just want to see what I’m in for before I commit.

Hi. Former World of Warcraft addict who is fed up with the game and who has lost all of his friends, thus giving me no more reason to play that horrible game. I was wondering… what is the state of Guild Wars 2 right now? I bought the game during the summer and played in the beta for a few hours, but never went far beyond that because I didn’t want to get ahead of my friends. Well, the friends caved and went back to WoW, so I followed. Now I’ve been ditched from the group and am on my own again, so I’m looking in to various games for a good experience.

TL;DR: How is Guild Wars 2 doing? Is it fun? Are people nice and sociable? Is it active? Does it look like its going to press on in to the future? Give me the scoop!
