Rune of Vampirism still BROKE

It really should be fixed. 10% is too low, it happens to me when I use this rune on my characters, it just never gets a chance to activate in most situations and I’m not sure if it’s been fixed recently but not too long ago the bloody thing would activate at 10% of deathshroud for Necromancers as well that also needs to be fixed if it hasn’t been (I haven’t had the opportunity to test it again) Also as the OP said, 10% is also just too small because of the fact that conditions can also damage you while in mist form and often just kill you anyway or even make it more likely that you die. The rune is more often just a disadvantage right now and needs an update in my opinion. Thanks.

Dungeon Guild—Spike Trap—Actively Recruiting

Spike Trap, YYYY: Dungeon Guild

Message: Recruiting new dedicated members for a serious dungeon guild. As with any guild, we’re looking for like-minded individuals—and as many of them as we can bring together under one banner for the sake of participating in one niche aspect of Guild Wars 2. Of course, joining us is not like having us ask you that you abandon all other areas of the game, but it is expected for our members to be of a base that has real interest and dedication towards dungeons. So, if your interest in this guild is peaked at all, I’ll give a run through on the type of individuals I’m attempting to attract as members of my guild. (I am indeed the guild founder, in case you were wondering:)

Both experienced and players less so, however it must be noted that however unfriendly it may be, players that struggle with coming to grips with basic mechanics can’t be taken seriously in this guild. Being a noob is not the same as being unfathomably bad at the game even despite attempts at assisting you for your improvement. If anyone joins our guild and consistently drags down a dungeon group even though they’ve been given good advice on how to play the game, this can’t be allowed to go on and maybe they just weren’t meant to be a member of our community.

Harshness aside, please don’t mistake the attitude of this guild and what we hope to achieve. Personally, I value working together to overcome challenges. Every member of a team must hold their own, but also be there for anyone who might fall behind so that together, we can all improve. Openness to constructive criticism and willingness to SERIOUSLY consider suggestions and advice is crucial. I search for members to apply these same standards to that I apply to myself in dungeons. I won’t accept elitist attitudes that cause anyone to be hostile toward or shun another member of this guild. I have to also stress that Spike Trap is a guild I’ve founded out of a desire to play through more dungeons because I actually enjoy this content and the rewards from doing it, I don’t support "speed” clearers or individuals who only focus on completing a dungeon in the way that’s "easiest,” skipping a boss or trash mobs is…just…

Server Information: Spike Trap is interested in member recruitment across international time zones to further vary and better insure activity among the guild. Our official server, my home server, is Anvil Rock. It can certainly be of some benefit to be on Anvil Rock as a member of this guild. However, the advantages are not so great that it is an absolute must. As a guild, we can cooperate across multiple servers with retained effectiveness; grouping across servers for dungeons is viable as well as mailing items to individuals across servers. Influence is gained on an individual server basis, however these guild upgrades should not be considered essential for anyone. A reliable dungeon guild should be enough in all honesty. I won’t recommend transfers either way, unless one makes you more comfortable than the other.

Guild Structure: We look to be a large guild with active recruitment efforts to maintain a healthy, large roster; however member quality will not be allowed to be neglected in those efforts. Members may be removed, members may leave, but those left are those who belong. I am the guilds founder, but no one person is capable of attentively managing a large group of individuals. It’s expected that all members take the responsibility upon them, and adhere to the standards set forth for the guild. If they don’t then it’s a problem that must be addressed by a member who holds the authority to deal with such a given issue, whether myself or someone I appoint to that position of authority.

Our guild holds four active positions, Founder, Guild Master, Community Leader, and Member. "Recruit” Is not a position within the guild because recruits will never be added to the guild roster. Every name shown on the guild’s roster is an official and permanent member until circumstances prove otherwise.

Member Application and Acceptance Process: At any point of application influx, excess applications will be pending review. A limit to the number of applications accepted within a certain period will be in place. This is to control the guild’s growth rate and insure organization. With this in mind, prospective member should remain patient as they await notification on the status of their application.

Additional Information: To view more information on this guild, including the code of conduct, please visit our guild’s site and fill out the application for membership if you are still interested in a member of Spike Trap, YYYY.

Thank You for considering this guild and good luck in all your dungeoneering endeavors. Oh, and speaking of dungeons, I hope everyone really enjoys Fractals of the Mists when they get the chance to try it, personally, I can hardly wait.

Hello all,

First, I’d just like to say that I love dungeon content in this game and enjoy running dungeons as a very large part of my game experience, however I’m forced to come to the forums to seek out more who desire getting to this content and playing through with frequency. The home server for my main general PvX US guild has a lack of player interest for a variety of the dungeons in the game, most gravitating towards a set few, while I struggle to find groups interested in anything different. Getting to the point though, I’m just on the forums out of hope to find a guild, or just other players guild aside, that also have a good interest and dedication to this content.

Since grouping for dungeon instances is perfectly viable across servers as well, I am of the opinion that regardless of the server or timezone, as long as you maintain this common interest and dedication towards dungeons with myself and others that we could do very well to conquer this content together Xserver. Not only do I want more groups for dungeons, but I also expect to develop more organized and skilled groups of dungeoneers, as the content is not all too fun for myself otherwise. I’ll provide some additional information if you’re interested.

My Home Server: Anvil Rock

Main Guild: Blood Oath

To contact me in-game, if the forum account ID is somehow insufficient, my character name is “Grenic.” If you’re going to try to get in touch in-game though, please contact me on these forums first either through PM and/or posting on this topic. This will be more reliable.

To further clarify also, I’m not directly seeking recruitment for my PvX guild and beyond guilds I’m looking for individuals with true interest and skill at the dungeons which would only be to my own perceptions, but by my word, I can be a fair and understanding judge. I’ve no interest in meeting and joining with more people who have yet to master the basics of combat in this game, but don’t mistake that for me also going in search of people that are so confident in their skill as to be blinded by mutual kind criticisms and simple suggestions, which would be cornerstone to successful and long term cooperation in good dungeon teams.

Thanks for your time and interest in my post, and I ask that if you are considering getting in touch with me for dungeons that you please do so. =)

100% Map Completion hindered by non-existant Vista and P.o.I.?

I really badly want to say that I have checked all the maps and I have 100% on all of them, but I guess there’s always this tinge of doubt. From my point of view, it’s just not even there though, to be honest. Possibly it is there and the game is showing x/x poi instead of o/x poi, I’d really love to go with that possibility even though I know someone who has achieved map completion just yesterday. It’s a frustrating thing to try and find this needle in a haystack to the point where it doesn’t seem to exist at all.

I have checked some maps multiple times because I was on the verge of losing sanity or something. It could be that I need to step back from it all and come back with a fresh look at it and keep rationalizing it out, but somehow I really really doubt that this 716/717 poi is because I overlooked a map with 1 poi missing, overlooked it multiple times mind you… but yeah, will have to step away from this garbage either way.

I’m interested in this because I too am having trouble getting max completion, I’ve been to every area from what I can tell and have everything except 1 poi, and it’s not the Chantry of Secrets one either, though Majig, you should try looking there, I hear people had trouble with it. As for the Vista that you’re missing, I can’t say anything other than, I have 266/266 vistas, so it is in the game.

edit- also, as far as I knew, dungeon poi did not count for world completion, or I thought it stated that on a wiki page, which could also be inaccurate, it would be nice to see confirmation on either way.

Dear Arena-Net,

I’ve been playing GW2 for some time now, I’ve really enjoyed my time with the game, and though I don’t have much insight into any features and content that you may be considering adding to the game in its future, I do have ideas of my own that I think could make the game even more fun and enjoyable for myself and friends. These may be redundant suggestions that others have posted before (I don’t really know for certain) but I’m adding everything that has come to my mind during my time with the game regardless.

  • Make Transmutation Stones and items such as HoM heritage skins viewable in the Hero Pane along with items such as Gathering Tools, in order to increase ease of access by only needing to open the hero panel instead of the inventory as well. Also, consider doing the same with useful items such as food and potions.
  • Make gathering tools account bound. Unless you have an actual reason for them being soul bound to the character that bought them, then I really don’t see the point in the restriction.
  • Add in features to link more things to chat. Some examples of helpful things that players could link but are unable to currently are the Vistas, Skill Points, Character Health and other stats through the Hero Pane. Of course players want to be able to preview items from the Trading Post, linking them to chat would be nice too though. Also, adding a Note Pad function for copying saving and pasting links and other things would be a great addition.
  • Allow players to inspect each other’s Hero; equipment, stats, etc…
  • Consider allowing players to go back through the personal story missions and replay them. Perhaps adding things like mastery completion to the story missions. You could add this replay option to the Story tab of the Hero Pane. Also, dividing up the story log into chapters would eventually be helpful for navigation once additional content is added and it has to be expanded.
  • Consider adding gladiator-esque survivor PVE arena challenges. I was playing pve at one point and found myself surrounded by enemies that had unusually short re-spawn timers, which was reported, because you could farm them endlessly, but it was actually challenging and enjoyable and let me discover a new possibility for appreciating the combat of GW2.
  • Make Tier 3 cultural armor sets exotic and add more versions with different stats similar to how dungeon armor is. Make armor options usable-by-your-character appear above the other armor categories in merchants’ listings.
  • Add in more infinite achievements for things like Slayer Achievements.
  • Hope you have plans to add in character makeovers through the gem-store or something similar to GW1. Also adding different skill effects purchasable through the gem-store would add a lot more variety and uniqueness to players, but only so long as you have an option to disable the alternate visual effect if it makes it harder to determine what skill is being used; completely disabling them in things like competitive pvp. It would be nice to see more armor skins, some weapon skins, unique consumable items especially for holiday events, more town costumes of course, as well all in the gem-store.

I don’t want to overextend myself on suggestions, I have more that I would love to see, but I think I’ll hold off just for now and continue enjoying myself in-game. Thanks to anyone reading who’s agreeable with at least some of my suggestions.

“Then you will see that it is the majority of players that have no desire to run a dungeon 60 times to acquire the end-game gear.”

You mean the gear that is obtained from doing dungeons that happen to be lvl 80 and are exotic in rarity? Oh, that stuff is only end-game if you want it to be. I enjoy playing the game regardless of the number of times I do something, you make it a grind yourself because of your own mentality on the subject. Also, an influx of forum posts is irrelevant to the word “majority” unless you go about aggregating those numbers together and compare them to the number of active players. Good luck finding a majority then.

Dungeons are not expensive to run. You are doing it wrong if that is the case. Please learn to play properly first or not play at all if part of a dungeon is brokenly difficult/impossible for you regardless of whether it’s a fault of the game it would also be a fault to common sense to do so.

Dungeons are optional content that certainly can be said to be difficult, but the rewards for doing them is not the problem nor how long it would take to obtain them through how many runs. I’m not sorry that so many people are having issues with the difficulty of dungeons or the grind of it. However, grind is a non-issue and to say otherwise is ignorant. Difficulty might be optimized but the grind is fine the way it is and will always be fine because it has a place within the game for certain. Some dungeons are broken they are so difficult or impossible without using an unbalanced method to overcome them, these are the ONLY issues we should discuss about dungeons. If people want to fruitlessly complain about how it is too much work for them though… by all means, that’s why we have forums so they can post stupid things about not having epic gears and owning the game’s economy and having everyone bow down to them when they walk into town. Well, if it’s just the gear thing though, the game hasn’t been out long, and how long do you intend to play it? I guess you have decided these dungeon sets are out of the question from a matter of weeks after the game’s release, you must be some pro player who has exhausted every avenue of gameplay to come to the conclusion that it’s not viable or realist or worthwhile to do so.

Just stay on the forums and continue asking anet to make the game easy as hell just to suit you.

What dungeon to begin with?

Please don’t do dungeons with random people. Get to know some people interested in dungeons and play with them regularly if you can instead. PUGs are frustrating as many do not understand their professions, being new players, or slow to uptake. You should do all of the dungeons if you can, since they do contribute to a narrative of the game and help flesh out the world and allow you to glimpse interesting things. Ascalon Catacombs is difficult to do with random people, especially if they have never learned what dodge rolling is.

All of the dungeons can be fun and enjoyable as well as challenging. Personally, I find a fun aspect of doing dungeons to be repeating them to improve in skill and tactic for certain situations as some conflicts can be down right cruel if you are doing them wrong with only certain ways actually effective. I can honestly make no assertion towards which dungeon and path is easiest to do with random people. The few pick ups that I’ve joined have been trash in comparison to an organized team that communicates and knows what the majority of all their skills do and how they could potentially utilize them.

Sometimes I wonder why you people coming on forums can’t step back for a moment and realize that your assertions are ridiculous. You are basing things so self centricly that you assume the vast majority is YOU. It’s not news to me that some people will do dungeons and play the game in general 100% of the time for the goal of obtaining specific in-game items, but perhaps it is news to you that not everyone will do dungeons for this reason. Perhaps it’s news to you that your notion of incentivization is not universal and in fact some gamers will feel incentive towards completing a dungeon because it is a fun activity to do with others. However, as a minor note, you can use those dungeon tokens for other items aside from full sets of armor, I’m unsure if you’re purposefully neglecting to mention this or are just bizzarly oblivious to it. There are weapons, runes, sigils, gifts (used to craft legendaries), but that’s if you are fixated on these shiny shinnies, which NOT everyone is. If there is a problem with dungeons, it’s not lack of incentive and you’re just way off base, sorry. Difference of playstyle maybe prevents you from coming to terms with dungeons as is.

“-This game turned into a joke really quick.”

Well you certainly sound like the credible source after all. Let’s all move to pvp and forget about the ridiculous depth of content elsewhere because some uninformed raging fool comes on the forums and cries because they had absurd expectations of what lack of grind is. Anet has said that you don’t have to grind in their game, and you do not. They’ve not said that there is no grind anywhere, if that were the case I shudder at what kind of pathetic 48hr single player game we would have instead of an MMO.

I sincerely hope you enjoy your time playing this joke of a game, or at least the PvP. As it turns out, it’s probably there for people like you, as shocking as that is. Not everyone wants to play the game you envision, I guess that’s why Anet designed it though.
