Asura, from what I’ve seen, generally speak with superiority rather than belittle themselves with what they’d probably consider simple or childish insults. They are inventors, most of them, and quite a few of them are super geniuses who know they’re better than you. While Vine appears to be the best of the best of students, she seems to consistently put herself on a lower level with other asura with her bitter tongue, and acts out of place for someone who is the first to be considered savant.

“Why you…!” Vine exclaimed. “You… you flat-chested freak!”

This line especially bugs me. Asura don’t really have assets to flaunt, so this doesn’t make too much sense as an insult.

Granted, these are just my observations, and there are likely asura who are against the grain as Vine is, but you may consider her talents and history to show better in her dialog and mannerisms. I’d really like to see more of why she became a thief in the first place; does she handle back-alley transactions, or perhaps her inventions and devices are meant for more subtle applications? There’s a lot you can do with this to flesh out her character more.

As far as the general writing goes, there’s a lot of places that could use some clean up and more variation to the dialog and the action. But don’t get discouraged by my words, and keep at it!

It’s certainly a good start towards an interesting tale, though there’s a lot of room for growth, too. A lot of the writing here should really be given a twice over, especially concerning the asura’s mannerisms, which I find to be a bit departing of their standard culture. Still, I’m always happy to read about anything that isn’t Trahearne related.

I’d honestly Like to see some more slightly longer ranged weapons for thieves remove the stealth and give them a new weapon like a Kusurigama gives them slightly more range than melee weapons and its a rather dexterous weapon so maybe 2/5 or 3/5 skills evasive(maybe the 3rd a stun breaker?)? of course with cooldowns to match but upsides in either dmg or effects to make people not QQ it would be rather op against people that are strickly melee like myself and would encourage us to diversify or modify to do more cc with kd knockback stuns etc of course these skills would not be spammable so the thief would not be god like but gives them the option to pull out of fights with similiar ease as stealth but not as op this being they have several shadow steps to tele away and blinds shadow refuge in gw1 was a intense health regen for roughly 8 seconds and if you were attacking when it ended bonus health why not change it back to that in gw2? would give me more incentive to play my thief again atm I hate being able to faceroll my keyboard and walk out of zergs

Thieves are not Assassins, and do not have roots in Cantha.

That said, I’d think giving Thief access to the Rifle would be a good step in the right direction for a ranged Thief playstyle. We’d have people being able to do what Deadeye can do!

I wouldn’t mind fist weapons; they’re my favorite type of weapon when given the choice, and it’d make a pretty awesome off-hand for Warriors and Guardians. Giving a subset of control ‘Physical’ skills that support your one-handed sword Warrior, or being able to make a brawler with two fist weapons equipped? Make it happen, ANet!

I wouldn’t mind BLTS being a random drop in the world, instead of having keys be the only option for what amounts to a 50 gold TP item.

Many players like myself have been getting disconnects. While others are not getting achievements they should have received. For these reasons give the “Infinite Watchknight Tonic” to everyone. Or make it buyable in the gem store.

You can obtain an Infinite Watchknight Tonic without having to reach the end of an invasion via the daily achievements and defeating the three champion types. You don’t have to stay until the end of 7 invasions if that’s all you want!

Issue: During one of the idle animations while weapons are holstered, arm sticks out of the left pauldron. Very obvious with any sleeveless medium coat.

100 rares salvaged over the past few days. 27 ectos. Not just RNG and I’m not the only one saying it. Y’all can put on your tinfoil hats all you want, but we were right last time and we’re right this time too. If it’s a mistake, again, fine, but fix it please.

It sounds more like you’ve just got a case of ancedotal bad luck. I’ve been salvaging multiple ectos from dropped rares beyond a 1:1 ratio. But then, I’ve also obtained a jade weapon ticket, dragon wings, and a holographic pet from random drops recently, too.
