basically it ran me to a portal I can’t use.
I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature…perhaps the mechanic of the Living World storyline map marker that leads you to the next step just doesn’t have a lot of conditional code in it. Maybe the regular personal storyline does the same thing.
I went from 16 to 80 on my main in Labyrinthine Cliffs during the Festival of the Four Winds. My personal storyline is lagging far behind because pretty much when that ended, well here we go with the new Living World stuff.
Maybe the pathing assumes anyone who is level 80 and doing these chapters of Living World has finished the personal story and unlocked all the zones, but the Green Star that was going to lead me to Fort Selma in Kessex Hills took me across a few zones (I think I started in Rata Sum and had gone to Timberline to do that part) but it ran me to a set of 3 portals in Fort Trinity/Straits of Devastation, which were behind a locked gate that apparently unlock if you’d done the personal storyline to 80.
I am not sure how complex it would be, but maybe the pathfinding on these quests that take you across Tyria, it could re-route you around portals or access you haven’t unlocked. There must clearly be some character flag associated with whether this gate is open to you or not. Mind you it was fun to rampage and forage across 5 zones but hitting that closed door was a bit frustrating. Now I’m coming at it from the Divinity’s Reach side, and know that the quest pathing is sort of mechanical.
ah, thanks for the clarification all, now it makes more sense!
I do see some difference between the merchant levels, there appear to be more cactus recipes than on the gold+geodes tab.
I’m allowing I may be being incredibly dense about this, I’m about 2 months into this game so it wouldn’t surprise me if I’m looking right past the info I’m confused about.
Seems like favor level resets periodically (maybe once an hour at the end of the sandstorm?) but I have never seen the favor level over 2, and the 2nd rack of items on th e merchant (after the first rack that requires gold and geodes only) says the items require Favor level of 3.
I have noted and am attaching a cropped screen of the Favor level being 2, and no progress bar. To me, that makes it seem like the level has capped, much like when the charged crystal thing in Labyrinthine Cliffs reached Gold reward, the progress bar went away.
If there’s no progress bar and it says “Favor level 2,” how does it then proceed…to 3.
I asked in zone and was told of course it goes to 3 or 4. But…screenshot, no progress bar. What am I missing?
I find Jory and Kas charming and humorous, lesbian relationships don’t bother me, it’s 2014. Not sure what the big deal is. They aren’t big hulking men sniffing their armpits…I dunno, sorry?
As for some LGBT “Agenda,” yeah it’s a terrible fiendish plot to get you not to hate people for who they love. I know that’s flippin’ hard for some of you but extract yourself from Limbaugh and Drudge and grow up.

never mind, I found the answer to this question
“Once you’ve unlocked it by simply logging in, you can replay that episode’s storyline on any character on your account as many times as you like from your story Journal forever.”

Threads are thick and fast, could not find if this was covered.
Does the chapter that unlocks by logging in while it is live, unlock for that character or for the account?
I recently started this game (maybe a couple weeks before the start of the Festival of the Four Winds) and have 1 main at level 80, and alts that are not yet level 80. Will they be able to use an unlocked chapter (unlocked by the level 80 main) when they reach level 80? Or does any login unlock the chapter for that account, and you can play it when you are level 80?
interested in current answers for this. Even though GW2 is not a new game, I got it just a couple weeks ago (yeah I’m the noob running into the bank amidst all the Level 80s) and ran it for almost a couple weeks with no problem.
Then I had the bright idea to update my graphics drivers for my GeForce 550 Ti. It came with a new profiling utility that scanned my computer and updated me to most recent drivers, and scanned my computer for games to offer custom driver tweaks for each game. Nifty, but it found all my games except GW2.
Also, with the latest drivers, I find the drivers blacking out and resetting, and annoyingly this is mostly happening in mission instances. I’m at work but I think the current driver is 345 or something. I can go back and try the 306.97 or 307.17 drivers, but if there are more recent ones that seem to work for people I might try that.
The fact that the nvidia utility doesn’t even recognize GW2 seems to me they think it’s too old a game, so I’m thinking an older driver would be best. I don’t know what it is about this game, I can play FFXIV:ARR for a whole day and the drivers have no issues, at max settings.
